Synthesis a.d Investiga.ion of Phenol Red Dye Doped Polymer Films

The optical properties of the pure polymer film a.d polymer films doped with Phenol Red dye a. different concentra.ions were investiga.ed. The films were prepa.ed using the ca.ting technique. Poly (methyl-metha.ryla.e) (PMMa. polymer wa. doped with the Phenol Red dye dissolved in a.mixture of chloroform a.d little qua.tity of metha.ol, used a. suita.le solvent for both the dye a.d the polymer. The spectral a.sorption mea.urements of these films were ca.ried out a. different dye concentra.ions using UV-Vis double-bea. spectrophotometer in the wa.elength ra.ge 300 - 800 nm. The optical pa.a.eters of the prepa.ed Phenol Red dye doped polymer films, a.sorption coefficient (α), extinction coefficient (κ), refra.tive index (n), optical a.d electrical conductivities (σopt a.d σelect), a.d optical energy ba.d ga. (Eg), were determined. The results showed tha. the Phenol Red dye doped polymer film is a.good ca.dida.e for photonic a.plica.ions such a., sola. cells, optical sensors, a.d other photonic devices.

a.M： To evalua.e the fea.ures a.d outcome of ma.a.ement of maligna.t conjunctival squa.ous tumors in King hussein Ca.cer Center（a.referral tertia.y ca.cer center in the Middle Ea.t）. METHODS： Retrospective ca.e series of 31 eyes for 31 pa.ients with conjunctival squa.ous neopla.ia. Ma.n outcome mea.ures included： a.e, gender, la.erality, tumor loca.ion, pa.hological fea.ures, tumor sta.e, trea.ment modality, a.d outcome. RESULTS： Twenty（65%） pa.ients were males a.d media. a.e wa. 58 y. Twenty-two（71%） eyes ha. the tumor in the na.al qua.ra.t. Tumor inva.ion to nea.by structures wa. seen in 19（61%） eyes, including the cornea. fornix, eyelid, a.d orbit in 17（55%）, 1（3%）, 2（6%）, a.d 3（10%） eyes, respectively. Eye salva.e wa. a.hieved by surgical excision with cryothera.y followed by topical chemothera.y in 28（90%） eyes, a.d orbital exentera.ion wa. necessa.y in 3（10%） eyes due to orbital tumor inva.ion. Tumor recurrence wa. seen in 7（23%） eyes, a.d the significa.t predictive fa.tors for recurrence were tumor extension onto the nea.by structures（P=0.04）, tumor inva.iveness（P=0.038）, a.d tumor TNM sta.e（P=0.031）. No significa.t cha.ge in visual a.uity wa. seen, a.d disea.e rela.ed mortality wa. 6%（2 pa.ients, both ha. orbital inva.ion by inva.ive squa.ous ca.cinoma.. CONCLUSION： Conjunctival squa.ous ca.cinoma.is more common in males. a.va.ced a.erica. Joint Committee on Ca.cer（a.CC） T-sta.e, tumor local inva.ion, more pa.hologically a.gressive tumors, a.d surgical trea.ment alone（without a.juva.t thera.y） a.e a.socia.ed with higher risk for recurrence, a.d orbital inva.ion is the most importa.t poor prognostic fa.tor for meta.ta.is a.d dea.h. Trea.ment stra.egies should be a.fected by tumor cha.a.teristics a. presenta.ion.

Midwives a.d nurses should use the sta.da.d preca.tions a. the ba.ic level of infection control preca.tions when delivering ca.e to all pa.ients, rega.dless of their presumed infection sta.us. Therefore midwifes a.d nurses should ha.e sound knowledge a.d complia.ce with sta.da.d preca.tion. a.m of the study: The study a.med to a.sess the level of the complia.ce of sta.da.d preca.tions a.ong the midwives a.d nurses in the Palestinia. Hospitals. Method: a.cross sectional study wa. conducted from Ma. to June 2015 on 81 midwives a.d nurses from Palestinia. hospitals. The da.a.were collected from la.or rooms a.d postpa.tum depa.tments of Palestinia. hospitals. Da.a.were collected using pretested questionna.re on 81 midwives a.d nurses selected by convenience sa.ple. Results: The current study showed tha. the a.era.e of sta.da.d preca.tions knowledge level a.d complia.ce a.e 74.6% a.d 83.8% respectively. There a.e a. a.socia.ion between a.e, educa.ion, work experience, a.d complia.ce with sta.da.d preca.tions a. p p a.d nurses in the current study for both knowledge a.d complia.ce ha.e high level rega.ding sta.da.d preca.tions. There is a. a.socia.ion between a.e, educa.ion, work experience, a.d complia.ce with sta.da.d preca.tions. Recommenda.ions: Knowledge of midwives a.d nurses should be upda.ed;the importa.ce of la.est evidence-ba.ed pra.tices of infection control in continuing educa.ion/tra.ning progra. should be empha.ized;a.d tra.ning progra.s for newly midwives a.d nurses a.out sta.da.d preca.tion a.d a. regula. intervals should be provided.
