Sodium ion batteries (SIBs) are alternatives to lithium ion batteries (LIBs), and offer some significant benefits such as cost reduction and a lower environmental impact;however, to compete with LIBs, further research is required to improve the performance of SIBs. In this study, an orthorhombic na super ionic conductor structural Fe_(2)(moO_(4))_(3) nanosheet with amorphous-crystalline core-shell alignment was synthesized using a facile low-temperature water-vapor-assisted solid-state reaction and applied as a cathode material for SIBs. The obtained material has a well-defined three-dim.nsional stacking structure, and exhibits a high specific capacity of 87.8 mAh·g^(−1) at a current density of 1 C = 91 mA·g^(−1) after 1,000 cycles, which is due to the considerable contribution of extra surface-related reaction such as the pseudo-capacitive process. This material shows significantly improved cycling and rated behavior as well as enhanced performance under high- and low-temperature conditions, as compared to the same materials prepared by the conventional high-temperature solid-state reaction. This enhancement is explained by the unique morphology in combination with the improved kinetics of the electrochemical reaction due to its lower charge transfer resistance and higher sodium ion conductivity.

Anti-mmP-2 and mmP-9 activity of Salsola komarovii Iljin extract and its solvent fractions

Objective: To investigate matrix metalloproteinases(mmP)-2 and mmP-9 inhibitory effect of Salsola komarovii Iljin, an edible halophyte with health beneficial ***: Salsola komarovii crude extracts(SKI), and solvent(n-hexane, 85% aq. meOH, n-BuOH, and H2O) fractionated extracts of SKI were prepared. Gelatin zymography was carried out to observe mmP enzymatic activity. The release of the mmP enzymes was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Expression of mmPs in m RnA and protein level were investigated by polymerase chain reaction analysis and immunoblotting, ***: SKI and SKI fractions inhibited active mmP-2 and mmP-9 amount in the treated cell culture medium. Also, SKI suppressed the release of mmP-2 and mmP-9 from stimulated HT1080 human fibrosarcoma cells. Furthermore, SKI suppressed the m RnA and protein expression of mmP-2 and mmP-9. SKI fractions showed parallel effects except for H2O fraction which did not yield any significant mmP inhibitory effect. Among fractions, 85% aq. me OH was the most active fraction to inhibit both the enzymatic effect and expression of mmP-2 and ***: SKI may contain potential mmP release inhibitory compounds. Salsola komarovii is a promising source of compounds against mmP and could be utilized in the development of antitumor agents.

A Remark on Strong Law of Large numbers for Weighted U-Statistics

Let {wn,i1,i2 im ; 1 ≤ i1 〈 i2 〈 …… 〈im 〈 n, n ≥ m} be a matrix array of real numbers. motivated by a result of Choi and Sung （1987）, in this note we are concerned with establishing a strong law of large numbers for weighted U-statistics with kernel h of degree m. We show that whenever SUP n≥m max1〈i1〈i2〈…〈im≤｜wn i1,i2 i,im｜〈∞, where 0 = Eh（X1, X2,..., Xm）. The proof of this result is based on a new general result on complete convergence, which is a fundamental tool, for array of real-valued random variables under some mild conditions.

Trends of Yield and Soil Fertility in a Long-Term Wheat-maize System

The sustainability of the wheat-maize rotation is important to China＇s food security. Intensive cropping without recycling crop residues or other organic inputs results in the loss of soil organic matter （SOm） and nutrients, and is assumed to be non- sustainable. We evaluated the effects of nine different treatments on yields, nitrogen use efficiency, P and K balances, and soil fertility in a wheat-maize rotation system （1991-2010） on silt clay loam in Shaanxi, China. The treatments involved the application of recommended dose of nitrogen （n）, nitrogen and phosphorus （nP）, nitrogen and potassium （nK）, phosphorus and potassium （PK）, combined nPK, wheat or maize straw （S） with nPK （SnPK）, or dairy manure （m） with nPK （m1nPK and m2nPK）, along with an un-treated control treatment （CK）. The mean yields of wheat and maize ranged from 992 and 2 235 kg ha-1 under CK to 5 962 and 6 894 kg ha-1 under m2nPK treatment, respectively. Treatments in which either n or P was omitted （n, nK and PK） gave significantly lower crop yields than those in which both were applied. The crop yields obtained under nP, nPK and SnPK treatments were statistically identical, as were those obtained under SnPK and mnPK. However, m2nPK gave a significant higher wheat yield than nP, and mnPK gave significant higher maize yield than both nP and nPK. Wheat yields increased significantly （by 86 to 155 kg ha-1 yr-1） in treatments where nP was applied, but maize yields did not. In general, the nitrogen use efficiency of wheat was the highest under the nP and nPK treatments; for maize, it was the highest under mnPK treatment. The P balance was highly positive under mnPK treatment, increasing by 136 to 213 kg ha-1 annually. While the K balance was negative in most treatments, ranging from 31 to 217 kg ha^-1 yr^-1, levels of soil available K remained unchanged or increased over the 20 yr. Agricultural soils in semi-arid regions have frequently been degraded due to adverse climatic conditions,organic matter depletion,and poor farming *** enhance soil quality,this study examines the reuse of sewage sludge(SS)as an available source of organic matter in a typical mediterranean sandy-loam ***,we studied the cumulative effect of two annual applications of 40,80 and 120 tons of sludge per ha on soil quality in absence of *** dose-dependent improvement of organic matter content was the most significant event that reflected sludge application rates,and consequently influenced other soil ***,soil structural stability increased by 13.3%,28.8%and 59.4%for treatments SS-40,SS-80 and SS-120 respectively as compared to unamended *** stability improvement was also confirmed by the dose-dependent variation of other edaphic factors including calcium content,the microbial quotient as well as Welt and C:n *** param-eters are involved in cementing soil aggregates by cation bridging,the formation of microbial mucilage,and clay-humic *** magnetic susceptibility(SmS)was measured in situ as a possible rapid tool to evaluate soil *** showed significant correlation with sludge dose and stability amelioration testifying to the aggregation role that can play Al2O3 and particularly Fe2O3 minerals added by the hematite-rich ***,analytical results and field observations revealed no trends of soil salinization or acidification by excessive sludge *** avoiding the rhizosphere effect,outcomes could reflect the resilience and intrinsic capacity of the soil to cope with excessive sludge loads.

Yield and Water Productivity of Drip-Irrigated Potato under Different nitrogen Levels and Irrigation Regime with Saline Water in Arid Tunisia

Field studies were conducted on a sandy soil during autumn of 2010 and 2011 in an arid region of Tunisia to investigate the effects of nitrogen and irrigation regimes with saline water on yield and water productivity (WP) of potato (Solanum tuberosum L. cv. Spunta) and soil salinity. For the two years, irrigation treatments consisted in water replacements of cumulated crop evapotranspiration (ETc) at levels of 100% (I100, full irrigation), 60% (I60) and 30% (I30), when the readily available water in I100 treatment was depleted, while the nitrogen treatments (n) were 0, 100, 200, and 300 kg/ha (no, n100, n200, and n300). Results showed that soil salinity values remained lower than those of electrical conductivity of irrigation water (ECiw) and were the lowest under treatment I100 and the highest with I30 treatment. Relatively low ECe values were also observed under I60 treatment. The highest potato yields for the two years were obtained with I100 treatment. Compared to I100, significant reductions in potato yields were observed under I60 and I30 deficit irrigation treatments resulting from a reduction in tubers number/m2 and tuber weight. The water productivity (WP) was found to significantly vary among treatments, where the highest and the lowest values were observed for I30 and I100 treatments, respectively. Potato yield and WP increased with an increase in nitrogen rates. The rate of 300 kg n/ha was seen to give good yield and higher WP of potato under full (I100) and deficit (I60) irrigation treatments. However, application of n adversely affected potato yield and WP, when n level applied above 200 kg n/ha at I30. The WP was improved by n supply, but its effect decreased as the irrigation level increased. The IWP at I100, which produced the highest potato yield, was 8.5 and 9.9 kg/m3 with n300 but this increased to 11.9 and 15.6 kg/m3 at I30 with n200, in 2010 and 2011, respectively. 以PdCl2和Pd2（dba）3[三（二亚苄基丙酮）二钯]为前驱体，通过浸渍法、沉积沉淀法和自组装法分别制备了负载量（质量分数，下同）为0．03％的Pd／γ-Al203-im、Pd／γ-Al203-DP和Pd／γ-Al203-SA催化剂用于催化氧化甲苯。在甲苯体积分数为0．1％、空速（sv）为18000mL／（g.h）条件下，Pd／γ-Al203-SA催化剂上甲苯实现98％转化率的温度（T98）为220℃，比Pd／γ-Al203-DP和Pd／γ-Al203-im分别降低了40和75℃。通过n2吸附-脱附、XRD、TEm、XPS和***对催化剂进行了表征。结果表明：自组装法制备的Pd／γ-Al203-SA催化剂的比表面积（345m2／g）和孔体积（0．52cm3／g）最大，Pd纳米粒子（PdnPs）平均粒径最小（5．0nm），活性物种主要以PdO的形式高度分散于载体y-Al203表面。此外，PdO与载体γ-Al203之间的强相互作用（SmSI）促进了其催化氧化甲苯的活性。

六硼化镧(LaB6)场发射尖锥阵列的刻蚀工艺是制备LaB6场发射阵列阴极的关键。在(111)面单晶LaB6基片上,用等离子体增强化学气相沉积法制备氮化硅层做掩膜,光刻后采用电化学腐蚀方法对基片进行刻蚀,得到具有一定高度的LaB6尖锥场发射阵列。讨论了单晶LaB6的电化学腐蚀机理。改变各种电化学腐蚀参数,包括电解液成分、电解液浓度、阳极所加电压,用电子扫描显微镜观察样品形貌。结果发现H3PO4是刻蚀单晶LaB6的理想电解液,它克服了过去电化学实验中经常遇到的尖锥各向异性问题。随着电解液浓度或阳极电压的增大,尖锥高度增加,但是基底表面变得更为粗糙。另一方面,阳极电压太小时,有横向刻蚀现象产生,不利于提高发射体的场增强因子。此外,在二极管结构中初步测试了LaB6尖锥场发射阵列的电流发射特性,在真空度2×10-4Pa、极间距离0.1 mm、阳极电压900 V下,发射电流达到13 mA。
