Mathematical Programming Method as a Means of Calibration of NIR Analyzers

In addition to the conventional methods of the calibration model construction, such as PCR （principal components regression） and PLS （partial least-squares）, a MPM （mathematical programming method） is developed and proposed for practical use in NIR analyses of agricultural and food products. The proposed method involves the mathematical programming techniques to seek the regression coefficients for the calibration model calculation. It is based on the optimization theory used for finding the extremum of the objective function in the given domain of a vector space and employs the method of the complementarity problems solving. The MPM algorithm is described in detail. The MPM was tested on an InfraLUM FT-10 NIR analyzer of Lumex company with samples of dry milk （for fat）, corn （for protein） and rye flour （for moisture）. The obtained results show that the MPM can be used for constructing multivariate calibrations with the qualitative characteristics superior over those of the classical PCR and PLS methods of analysis.

This research aims at investigating the role of branded mobile applications in enhancing brand *** main purpose of this thesis is to explore the effects of Starbucks branded mobile applications on brand *** this paper,it is hypothesised that branded mobile applications have a persuasive impact on brand *** primary research method for this study includes a qualitative method,which consisted of a survey with 77 independent randomly selected participants,which consume coffee on a constant *** the interviews were conducted either in-person or by *** second step employs the cognitive approach to measure brand equity that served as a guide to the delineation of the four dimensions of brand equity and some of their measures regarding the impact of Starbucks branded application on its brand *** proposed customer-based brand equity scale is based on the four underlying dimensions of brand equity: brand image,brand loyalty,brand value,and brand *** study reports empirical evidence of the impact that Starbucks branded mobile application had on the multidimensionality of consumer-based brand *** results suggest that a mobile application itself has a very strong effect on the brand-building process and along can stand as an independent communication *** findings also confirmed that the use of branded apps increases positive attitudes toward sponsoring brands,as well as has a positive impact on purchase *** present study contributes to the understanding of consumer-based brand equity measurement by examining the dimensionality of this construct.

We present here our investigations of the features of focused electron beam transport in free space at elevated pressures of a few *** have explored the effect of the beam accelerating voltage,operating gas pressure,and magnetic focusing upon the trajectory of beam electrons in the crossover region,in particular on the beam convergence and divergence *** is shown that for the forevacuum pressure range of 2-5 Pa explored,a distinctive feature of the propagation of a focused electron beam with a current of up to 20 mA at an accelerating voltage of 10-20 kV is the difference in the angles of convergence(before the focus)and divergence(after the focus).Whereas at a low pressure of 2 Pa the divergence angle is smaller than the convergence angle,as the pressure increases the divergence angle increases and for pressures greater than 5 Pa the divergence angle is greater than the convergence *** results obtained were used in experiments on electron beam transport through a long narrow metal tube with a diameter of 5.8-9.2 mm and length of 10-30 *** show that for a 30 cm long tube of 7.5 mm diameter,the focused beam transmission can exceed 70%.

Distribution area and taxonomic borders within the species complex Spermophilus erythrogenys sensu lato remain *** evidence suggests that red-cheeked ground squirrels of Southeast Kazakhstan are remarkably different in terms of the acoustic structure of their alarm calls from the red-cheeked ground squirrels of the Kurgan region in *** this study,we analyzed the differences in the acoustic structure of the alarm call and mitochondrial DNA(complete control region,1005-1006 bp and complete cytochrome b gene,1140 bp)in 3 populations of red-cheeked ground squirrels(Tara,Altyn-Emel and Balkhash),all located within areas isolated by geographical barriers in Southeast *** found that the alarm call variables were similar between the 3 study populations and differed by the maximum fundamental frequency(8.46±0.75 kHz)from the values(5.62±0.06 kHz)reported for the red-cheeked ground squirrels from the Kurgan region of Rus*** in mtDNA control region was only 3%and variation in cytochrome b gene was only 2.5%.Phylogenetic trees based on cytochrome b gene polymorphism of 44 individuals from the study area and adjacent territories indicated 3 clades with high(98-100%)bootstrap support:“intermedius,”“brevicauda”and“iliensis”).We conclude that the 3 study populations in Southeast Kazakhstan belong to the clade intermedius and suggest a taxonomical revision of the species complex Spermophilus erythrogenys sensu lato,including analyses of nuclear DNA and alarm calls for populations of the brevicauda and iliensis clades.

Structure and properties of bioabsorbable polyglycolide (PGA) and poly(glycolide-co-lactide) (PGA-co-PLA)fibers were investigated during several industrial processing stages and in vitro degradation by means of wide-angle X-raydiffraction (WAXD), dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) and mechanical property tests. In the orientation stage, the PGAfibers were found to have higher degrees of crystallinity than corresponding PGA-co-PLA samples produced under similarconditions. In the hot-stretching and post-annealing stages, after fibers were braided, PGA samples were found to gain morecrystallinity and higher T_g than PGA-co-PLA samples. The higher crystallinity in PGA fibers resulted in a slower rate ofdegradation. DMA results showed that a great deal of internal stress that was built during orientation and hot-stretchingstages was released in the post-annealing stage for a1l PGA and PGA-co-PLA samples. During earlier stages of in vitrodegradation, both PGA and PGA-co-PLA samples exhibited the typical cleavage-induced crystallization mechanism. Theheat shrinkage in the glass transition area was found to disappear after 6-8 days of degradation for all PGA and PGA-co-PLAsamples, indicating the amorphous portions of the polymers lost orientation after a short period in the buffer solution, mostlikely due to relaxation of the cleaved chains.
