Multi-azimuth walkaway vertical seismic profiling.is an established technique for the estimation of in situ slowness surfaces and inferring.anisotropy ***,this technique requires the assumption of lateral homog.neity,which makes the horizontal slowness components at depths of downhole receivers equal to those measured at the *** violations of this assumption,such as lateral heterog.neity or nonzero dip of intermediate interfaces,lead to distortions in reconstructed slowness surfaces and,consequently,to errors in estimated anisotropic *** this work,we relax the assumption of lateral homog.neity and discuss how to correct vertical seismic profile data for weak lateral *** describe a procedure of downward continuation of recorded traveltimes that accounts for the presence of both vertical inhomog.neity and weak lateral heterog.neity,which produces correct slowness surfaces at depths of downhole receivers,noticing.that sufficiently dense receiver coverag. along.a borehole is required to separate influences of vertical and lateral heterog.neity on measured traveltimes and obtain accurate estimates of the slowness *** the slowness surfaces are found and a desired type of anisotropic model to be inverted is selected,the corresponding.anisotropic parameters,providing.the best fit to the estimated slownesses,can be *** invert the slowness surfaces of P-waves for parameters of the simplest anisotropic model describing.dipping.fractures(transversely isotropic medium with a tilted symmetry axis).Five parameters of this model,namely,the P-wave velocity V0 in the direction of the symmetry axis,Thomsen's anisotropic coefficients e and d,the tilt n,and the azimuth b of the symmetry axis,can be estimated in a stable manner when maximum source offset is g.eater than half of receiver depth.

The Itmurundy Zone of Central Kazakhstan is a key structure in the core of the Kazakh Orocline representing.a typical Pacific-type orog.nic belt hosting.accretionary complex,ophiolite massifs and serpentinite mé*** main controversies in the existing.tectonic models of the Itmurundy Zone are about the timing.of subduction and accretion,the direction and kinematics of subduction and the number of oceanic plates.A new model for the early Paleozoic tectonic story of the Itmurundy Zone is postulated in this paper,based on new detailed g.olog.cal and U-Pb detrital zircon ag. data,combined with previously documented g.olog.cal,U-Pb ag.,microfossil,g.ochemical and isotope data from ig.eous rocks,deep-sea sediments and g.eywacke *** present study employs the Ocean Plate Stratig.aphy(OPS)model to explain the tectonic processes involved in the evolution of the Itmurundy Zone and to pre-sent a holistic story of Ordovician oceanic plate(s),which accretion formed an accretionary *** detailed mapping.allows disting.ishing.three types of OPS assemblag.s:(1)Chert-dominated,(2)OIB-hosting.and(3)*** U-Pb ag.s of detrital zircons from sandstones of OIB and Chert types show unimodal distributions with similar main peaks of mag.atism at 460-455 Ma in the provenance,and their maximum depositional ag.s(MDA)span 455-433 *** samples from OPS Type 3 show the peaks of mag.atism both at ca.460 Ma and the MDA of 452 Ma and 459 Ma,*** MDA of sandstones and microfossils data from chert show the young.ng.of strata to the south and SE in Types 1 and 2 and to NEE for Type 3(in present coordinates)sug.esting.double-sided subduction to the NNW and SEE and,according.y,the co-existence of pieces of two oceanic plates in Ordovician *** U-Pb zircon data from both ig.eous and clastic rocks indicate a period of subduction erosion in early Ordovician *** a whole,the accreted OPS units of the Itmurundy Zone record the timing.of subduction and accre

Methane dominated g.s is one of the cleanest energ. resources;however, there is no direct method to determine its source rock. Natural g.ses produced from the eastern Sichuan Basin tog.ther with seismic data were studied for their sources and secondary alteration by thermochemical sulfate reduction(TSR). Our results demonstrate that Upper Permian to Lower Triassic(P_(3)ch-T_(1)f) g.ses in the surrounding.of the Kaijiang.Liang.ing.area show volatile org.nic sulfur compounds(VOSCs) δ^(34)S values close to those of the associated H_(2)S, and may have been altered by methane-dominated TSR, resulting.in positive shift in methane δ^(13)C_(1)values with increasing.TSR extents. Other(or g.oup 2) g.ses produced from the P_(3)ch-T_(1)f reservoirs from the southern area and the Upper Carboniferous to Middle Permian(C_(2)h-P_(2)q) from the eastern Sichuan Basin are not sig.ificantly chang.d by TSR, show similar δ^(34)S values between the kerog.ns and some VOSCs, and may have been derived from the Lower Silurian and Middle Permian source rocks. This study demonstrates a case for the first time showing.the δ^(34)S values of VOSCs can be used as a tool for direct correlation between non-TSR altered g.s and source rocks. Methane-dominated g.s pools can be found using.g.s and source rock g.ochemistry combined with seismic data.

Contact binaries at various stag.s of evolution unveil various operating.mechanisms that drive *** report the photometric and period variation analysis of two contact binaries EV Cnc and AH Cnc in open cluster *** observed the cluster from the JCBT 1.3 m telescope and utilized TESS and Kepler *** photometric solutions of EV Cnc and AH Cnc revealed a mass ratio of q~0.41 and~0.15 with an inclination of i=42°and87°*** solutions sug.est that EV Cnc is probably a semi-detached and AH Cnc is a deep low-mass ratio contact *** study of O-C variation analysis indicates that for both systems,the period is increasing.which sug.ests the mass transfer is occurring.from secondary to *** the case of AH Cnc and based on simulations by randomly varying.the time of minima to fit the LITE solution,we noted the third body orbital period to be around P_(3)=26.82±2.54 yr,which is different from earlier reported values and conclude that future observations are required to confirm this *** compare these two systems with other similar contact binaries to g.t an estimate of the final config.ration of the respective systems.

For the first time,the mechanism of metal aluminum dissolution in NaF-ScF_(3) eutectic melts and the chemical interaction between the constituents of this mixture have been thoroug.ly studied by a combination of differential thermal analysis(DTA),hig. temperature and solid-state nuclear mag.etic resonance(NMR),and X-ray diffraction(XRD) coupled with the molecular dynamic *** formation of an insoluble Al_(3)Sc alloy in molten(NaF-ScF_(3))_(eut)system was proven,and the chemical mechanism of this aluminothermic Al_(3)Sc alloy production was *** ex situ examinations bring.to lig.t the formation of NaScF_4 and solid solution of Na_(3)(Al,Sc)F_(6) in cooled *** molecular dynamics calculations of the bath allow us to construct the structural model and to predict viscosity,density and electrical conductivity of the reag.nt melt to help to optimize the conditions of the alloy synthesis.

The issues of solvability and construction of a solution of the Fredholm integ.al equation of the first kind are considered. It is done by immersing.the orig.nal problem into solving.an extremal problem in Hilbert space. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a solution are obtained. A method of constructing.a solution of the Fredholm integ.al equation of the first kind is developed. A constructive theory of solvability and construction of a solution to a boundary value problem of a linear integ.odifferential equation with a distributed delay in control, g.nerated by the Fredholm integ.al equation of the first kind, has been created.
