Honeybees.(Apis.mellifera) are important pollinators.of flowering plants.and agricultural crops.contributing annually to billions.of dollars.in revenues.to crop production. Honeybees.have an average lifes.an between 8 weeks.to 5 years. Dead honeybees.are abundantly available in beehives.and can be utilized as.an alternative s.urce to s.nthes.ze nanoparticles. In recent years. biologically s.nthes.zed nanoparticles.have been preferred over their chemical counterparts. However, honeybee-bas.d-green s.nthes.s.of nanoparticles.has.not been explored yet. Herein, we report the bios.nthes.s.of s.lver nanoparticles.from honeybees.and its.antibacterial activity. The s.nthes.s.of s.lver nanoparticles.was.monitored vis.ally through a gradual change in color. Furthermore, the bios.nthes.zed nanoparticles.were confirmed and characterized by UV-vis.ble s.ectros.opy. s.anning Electron Micros.ope was.utilized to analyze the average s.ze and morphologies.of the bios.nthes.zed nanoparticles. s.bs.quently, the antibacterial potential of the bios.nthes.zed s.lver nanoparticles.was.tes.ed agains. s.lected Gram-pos.tive and Gram-negative bacterial s.rains. It was.found that a dis.inct color change from yellow to brown in the reaction s.lution s.gges.ed the formation of s.lver nanoparticles. The bios.nthes.zed nanoparticles.exhibited abs.rption maxima at 430 nm. The s.M analys.s.confirmed the s.herical and cuboidal s.ape of the bios.nthes.zed s.lver nanoparticles.with a s.ze range between 10 - 40 nm. Furthermore, the bios.nthes.zed s.lver nanoparticles.exhibited s.rong antimicrobial potential agains. tes.ed Gram-pos.tive and Gram-negative bacteria s.rains.by aggregating on the cell s.rface. This.s.udy s.owcas.s.the biomedical and agricultural applications.of bios.nthes.zed s.lver nanoparticles.from honeybee wings. .

s.rong>Background:s.rong> Klippel Feil s.ndrome (KFs. is.a congenital malformation characteris.d by the pres.nce of, at leas., one fus.d cervical s.gment and res.lts.from faulty s.gmentation along the embryo’s.developing axis.during weeks.3 - 8 of ges.ation. The KFs.increas.s.the ris. for s.inal cord injury after minor trauma as.a res.lt of the dis.urbance of the biomechanics.of the cervical s.ine. Pers.ns.with KFs.often have as.ociated congenital anomalies. s.rong>Aim:s.rong> The purpos. of this.s.udy was.to s.ow the s.rgical management difficulties.of this.pathology in a low income country s.ch as.s.negal and to make a review of the literature. s.rong>Cas. pres.ntation:s.rong> A 32-year-old man developed a tetrapares.s.s.condary to a fall from his.height while carrying a bag of rice on his.head. Radiological explorations.revealed fus.dC2-C3 and C4-C5 vertebral bodies.with a C3-C4 dis. herniation as.ociated to a s.ine contus.on. The patient underwent s.rgical removal of the herniated dis. via an anterior approach followed by interbody fus.on and anterior plating. A complete recovery was.noted at 4 months.follow-up. s.rong>Conclus.on:s.rong> Unders.anding of the cervical s.ine biomechanics.of Klippel-Feil anomaly may allow an optimal management of patients. Patients.with KFs.s.ould be warned of the increas.d ris. of s.inal cord injury after a low velocity trauma. Timing for s.rgery s.ould be s.ortened.

Background: Thoracolumbar spine fracture-dislocations are very unstable and usually secondary to high energy trauma. Due to disruption of the entire vertebrae columns, the absence of neurological deficit is exceptional. Aim: The purpose of this work is to report our experience in the management of this entity in a context of limited resources and to make a review of the literature. Case presentation: A 30-year-old man was admitted with a severe low back pain after a traffic accident. Neurological functions were intact after examination. Radiological assessments revealed a complete L3-L4 fracture-dislocation.s.an> The patient underwent an open posterior reduction and internal long segment fixation. The post-operative was marked by a surgical site infection treated with surgical debridement and targeted antibiotic therapy. The neurological functions were preserved. Conclusion: Fracture-dislocations of the thoracolumbar spine s.an>ares.an s.yle="font-family:Verdana;"> caus.d by high energy trauma and are remarkably uns.able les.ons. When they are as.ociated with intact neurorological functions. reduction and s.abilization of thes. fractures.are a challenge.

s.bdural empyema is.not a us.al complication of ventriculo peritoneal s.unt and the dis.overy of his.calcified form is.much exceptional in young adults. We report the cas. of a female patient of 17 years.old carrying a s.unt s.nce 16 years.who was.received for retro auricular s.ppuration facing the intra ventricular drain and whom cerebral CT-s.an s.ows.a right hemis.heric calcified empyema. A large craniotomy was.realized in the s.me time than an external ventricular drain. Evolution was.marked by minor right body motor troubles.and s.izures. Difficulties.we have faced during the management are a reminder about morbidity due to the ins.rtion of a ventriculo peritoneal s.unt and the need of and long term follow up for the carriers.

Nanotechnology is.a rapidly growing field in biomedical engineering with references.to efficiency, s.fety, and cos.-effective approaches. Herein, the objective of this.s.udy was.to examine an innovative approach to rapidly s.nthes.s.s.lver nanoparticles.from an aqueous.extract of medicinal mus.room Ganoderma lucidum (als. known as.reis.i). The s.ructural and dimens.onal dis.ers.on of the bios.nthes.zed s.lver nanoparticles.from reis.i was.confirmed by UV-Vis.s.ectrophotometer (UV-Vis. and s.anning Electron Micros.opy (s.M) analys.s. Additionally, the bios.nthes.zed s.lver nanoparticles.from res.hi were us.d to explore their potential antimicrobial activity agains. s.aphylococcus.aureus.and Micrococcus.luteus.and Es.herichia coli and Klebs.ella pneumoniae. The res.lts.from this.s.udy revealed that the s.lver nanoparticles.mediated by reis.i adopted a s.herical s.ape morphology with s.zes. les. than 100 nm and revealed s.rong abs.rption plas.on band at 440 nm. Furthermore, the bios.nthes.zed s.lver nanoparticles.from reis.i exhibited antibacterial activity agains. the tes.ed s. aureus.and M. luteus.and E. coli and K. pneumoniae by altering their morphology which s.gnifies.their biomedical potential.

以2008年4月获取的浙江省杭州市临安区东部区域分辨率为0.5 m的WorldView-1全色波段影像为数据源,在移动窗口基础上进行二维Fourier变换,构建纹理特征向量,采用不同的分类方法对森林进行分类,以寻找合适的移动窗口尺寸和分类方法。移动... 详细信息

以2008年4月获取的浙江省杭州市临安区东部区域分辨率为0.5 m的WorldView-1全色波段影像为数据源,在移动窗口基础上进行二维Fourier变换,构建纹理特征向量,采用不同的分类方法对森林进行分类,以寻找合适的移动窗口尺寸和分类方法。移动窗口按奇数从3×3增大到43×43,共21个不同尺寸的正方形窗口,每个边长窗口产生的纹理特征均采用Fis.er判别法、随机森林、支持向量机、夹角余弦和相关系数进行分类,统计分类精度。以森林分类精度为依据,5种分类方法对应的最佳窗口依次为41×41,41×41,23×23,39×39和39×39;在最佳窗口下,5种分类方法区分森林与非森林的精度均在95%以上,总分类精度大小顺序为:Fis.er判别法>随机森林>支持向量机>相关系数>夹角余弦,其中Fis.er判别法总精度为99.81%,Kappa系数为0.996 3。在提取森林的基础上,进一步对森林树种(组)进行分类,总精度大小顺序为:Fis.er判别法>随机森林>支持向量机>相关系数>夹角余弦,其中Fis.er判别法总精度为84.86%,Kappa系数为0.8149。研究结果表明,最佳窗口下Fis.er判别法的分类性能优于其他4种分类方法。

Background: Preeclamps.a (PE) is.one of the forms.of hypertens.ve dis.as.s.that occur during pregnancy. Early-ons.t preeclamps.a (EOP), which occurred before 34 weeks. proved to be the deadlies.. Indeed, it is.characterized by a poor maternal and fetal prognos.s. EOP has.a dis.arate incidence in the world varying between 0.9% and 31%. s.veral ris.s.factors.are as.ociated with the occurrence of EOP, which is.res.ons.ble of s.veral advers. obs.etrical outcomes. Complications.can affect up to 85% of pregnant women with EOP, es.ecially when EOP appears.very early, before 28 or even 25 weeks. ges.ation. Objectives. To determine frequency of EOP at the Univers.ty Clinics.of Kins.as., to des.ribe s.ciodemographic and clinical characteris.ics.of pregnant women with EOP and to identify its.ris.s.factors.and its.as.ociation advers. obs.etrical outcomes. Objectives. To determine the multiple myeloma (MM) prognos.ic formulas.applicable in Congoles. with many aberrant and/or immature plas.a cells.according to GOAs.UEN’s.plas.a cell morphology algorithm (PMA). Methods. The pros.ective, obs.rvational and des.riptive s.udy was.carried out at the Ngaliema Clinic in Kins.as. from July 2016 to December 2019. The variables.s.udied were the plas.a cell types.and the prognos.s.groups.according to GOAs.UEN and ZANDECKI. The nucleolus. the chromatin and the N/C ratio of 2 for each plas.a cell encountered in multiple myeloma are examined in order by as.ing three s.cces.ive ques.ions.as.follows. 1) Is.the nucleolus.pres.nt? If yes. we denote 1;if not, note 0;2) Is.the chromatin thin? If yes. we s.ore 1;if not we s.ore 0;3) The N/C ratio is.greater than 6, if s., 1 is.noted;if not, we note 0. We obtain a number with 3 s.cces.ive digits.preceded by the letter P for each plas.a cell. Res.lts. The overall rate of immature plas.a cells.and aberrant plas.a cells.in MM among Congoles. was.high at 26.6%. Their integration in the prognos.ic formulas.s.owed for group A" = 22 patients. group B" = 5 patients.and group C" = 32 patients. Examination of plas.a cell types.in the deceas.d s.owed that 14/17 had a P001 plas.a cell count ≥ 15%. Conclus.on: The high rate of aberrant and/or immature plas.a cells. the P001 plas.a cell type at a rate ≥ 15%, found mos.ly in group C" with poor prognos.s. are res.ons.ble for the aggres.ive nature of MM in Congoles. Blacks.
