Tribological properties of two new DLC--monocrystalline and amorphous nanostructural coating--are studied under conditions of boundary lubrication in inactive oil, as green tribology aspect. The friction tests were carried out by using two test configurations：＂ball-on-disc＂ and ＂ring-to-ring＂. Friction surfaces were coated by carbon of two types： monocrystalline and amorphous ones. As lubricants some model and commercial oils were used. It is found that the friction coefficient and its temperature dependence differ significantly for carbon films under study. The obtained results were attributed to different orientating effect of these coatings on structural ordering in boundary layers, which structure is considered as a mesophase of liquid crystals. The findings suggest that the carbon coatings with orientating effect on boundary layers are advantageous for improving antifriction characteristics and for governing processes of boundary lubrication.

Interleukin-10(IL-10), a cytokine with anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory functions, regulates the biology of B and T cells. The present review describes the role of IL-10 in normal renal physiology, during acute kidney injury and in the development of chronic renal failure. We further discuss IL-10-induced cellular and molecular pathways and their link to the progression of kidney injury.

将粉末冶金用于铝合金发动机汽缸体意味着对材料切削加工性能的一种挑战。除了要求静态与疲劳强度之外,为了能够对发动机汽缸体组件进行有效地镗孔,材料的切削加工性状还必须和铝合金相容。为了满足这项应用提出的要求,开发了含有六方氮化硼的粉末配方。这项重要发展包括材料选择、切削性评价,以及静态与动态强度试验。为确定轴承盖最关键的部位进行了有限元分析(FEA)。轴承盖是在经过金相检验、尺寸变化测定、静态与疲劳试验之后,进行制造与鉴定的。对制造工艺提出并实行了一些改进。轴承盖顺利地进行了切削加工,并通过了用户的发动机试验。此后,这些轴承盖在数以百万件计地进行生产。

Spherical Harmonic Solution of the Robin Problem for the Helmholtz Equation in a Supershaped Shell

The Robin problem for the Helmholtz equation in normal-polar shells is addressed by using a suitable spherical harmonic expansion technique. Attention is in particular focused on the wide class of domains whose boundaries are defined by a generalized version of the so-called “superformula” introduced by Gielis. A dedicated numerical procedure based on the computer algebra system Mathematica? is developed in order to validate the proposed methodology. In this way, highly accurate approximations of the solution, featuring properties similar to the classical ones, are obtained.

Cu-TDPAT(H_(6)TDPAT=2,4,6-tris(3,5-dicarboxylphenylamino)-1,3,5-triazine),a stable nanoporous metal-organic framework with rht topology,has sparked broad interest as an adsorbent for several chemical separation *** this work,in situ synchrotron diffraction experiments followed by sequential LeBail refinements reveal that Cu-TDPAT shows unusually large anisotropic negative thermal expansion(NTE).The PASCal crystallography tool,used to analyze the magnitude of the NTE,reveals an average volumetric thermal expansion coefficientαv=-20.3 MK^(-1).This value is significantly higher than the one reported for Cu-BTC(also known as HKUST-1),which contains the same Cu-paddlewheel building unit,αv=-12 MK^(-1).In situ synchrotron single crystal X-ray diffraction and in situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy(DRIFTS)were employed to shed light on the NTE *** these two methods,we were able to elucidate the three main structural motions that are responsible for the NTE *** more pronounced NTE behavior of Cu-TDPAT is attributed to the lower symmetry combined with the more complex ligand structure when compared to *** knowledge obtained in this work is important for understanding the behavior of the adsorbent under transient variable temperature conditions in fixed adsorption beds.

The chemical and mineral compositions of bauxite recovered from the Severoonezhsk Bauxite Mine(Arkhangelsk region,Russia)were studied by XRD,ICP-OES,TG/DSC,SEM,TEM,and Mössbauer *** iron-containing minerals of the bauxites were found to comprise alumogoethite(α-Fe_(1−x)Al_(x)OOH),alumohematite(α-(Fe_(1−x)Al_(x))_(2)O_(3)),alumoakaganeite(β-Fe_(1−x)Al_(x)O(OH,Cl)),and chromite(FeCr_(2)O_(4)).The efficiency of Fe extraction from the bauxite by HCl leaching was 82.5%at 100℃,HCl concentration of 10%,solid/liquid ratio of 1:10,and the process duration of 60 min,with aluminum loss from the bauxites below 4.5%of the total Al contents in the *** of the kinetics of the iron leaching process proved diffusion to be the limiting stage of the process at 90−100℃.Bauxite residue after leaching presented traces of α-Fe_(1−x)Al_(x)OOH and β-Fe_(1−x)Al_(x)O(OH,Cl),and most of the iron content was in the FeCr_(2)O_(4).In bauxite residue after HCl leaching,in addition to iron oxide,the contents of chromium and calcium oxides significantly *** iron chloride liquor after leaching contained the rare earth elements(REE)of 6.8 mg/L Sc,4.1 mg/L Ce and 2.3 mg/L Ga.

In this study was to investigate, by phase-transfer catalysis, the activity of single and mixed ammonium and phosphonium salts grafted on a 揼el-type?styrene-7% divinylbenzene copolymer in the oxidation of benzyl alcohol with hydrogen peroxide. A wide variety of catalysts with different quaternary groups and different quaternary chain length substituents were examined. The activity of single 搊nium?salts increases as a consequence of the association of ammonium and phosphonium salts grafted on the same polymeric support. The activity of polymer-supported ammonium and phosphonium salts increases with the number of carbon atoms contained in the alkyl radicals of the onium and of the functionalization degree with phosphonium groups.

A direct gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) method for the detection of orellanine present in stomach content (Part I)

Intoxication with Cortinarius orellanus Fr. is often lethal or, at the least, disabling for the victim. Orellanine is recognized as the prime toxic substance in this mushroom. Poisoning by other toxic mushrooms can be occasionally mistaken as poisoning by C. orellanus or vice versa. The C. orellanus toxins have a prolonged latent period after ingestion and onset in the appearance of symptoms. These properties of the toxin together with the chemo-, thermo- and photolability have made it difficult to develop a direct analytical method for diagnosing poisoning with orellanine, which in turn is needed to administer the correct medication. The aim of this study was to develop a direct analytical method for the detection of orellanine present in stomach content. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry with supersonic molecular beams (GC-MS with SMB) was used for the direct detection of orellanine in the stomach fluids of rats after they were fed with food containing C. orellanus. This method can be used as a platform for the future development of analytical procedures for the direct analytical detection of orellanine in humans intoxicated by ingestion of toxic mushrooms. The standard orellanine was isolated from C. orellanus following the procedure described by Prast et al. [1] and was used as an authentic comparison.
