Numerical modelling of the stress in the Pamir-Hindu Kush region

The current stress state of the Earth's crust in Central Asia depends entirely on the interaction of the Eurasian plate with the Indian and Arabian ***,an essential role in this action is played by the subduction process in the Pamir-Hind Kush *** this region,deep earthquakes and anomalies in seismic velocities indicate subduction of the Indian *** determine the effect of earthquakes on the stress state of the Earth's crust in Central Asia,we analyzed the hypocenters according to the available data over a hundred *** the envelope of the hypocenters as the surface of the subducted indenter,we analyzed its penetration into the *** of the pushing force of the indenter,the velocity of the Indian plate is taken into consideration.A model of the stresses is constructed on the equations of creeping motion of a viscous incompressible *** stress variation in the Earth's crust and mantle was calculated as the stress difference before and after the *** mechanism of earthquakes is modelled by an introduction of equivalent volume forces in the equilibrium equations corresponding to a couple dipoles without a *** equations of creeping motion are numerically solved using boundary element *** experiments with different physical model pa-rameters for the Earth's crust and mantle were *** introduce the negative buoyancy of the subducting plate,partial eclogitization of the rocks in the collision zone was *** a result,a certain combination of stiffness and density was determined for the lithosphere and mantle,which explained the peculiarities of this *** influence of crustal and mantle earthquakes in the Pamir-Hindu Kush region on the change in background stresses in Central Asia was analyzed which are not higher than 2-3%.

The tectonic creep and its variation after particular earthquakes are studied by the Stokes *** stress state of the region is modelled according to a hypothesis of plate tectonics in which the lithosphere of the region is laterally compressed across the Eurasian,Indian,and Arabian *** 1966 Tashkent(Uzbekistan)earthquake and the 1976 Gazli(Uzbekistan)earthquake are selected as examples to study different models of earthquake focal *** on the specifics of the geodynamic formulation,the three-dimensional equations of moment elasticity and hydromechanics are reduced to twodimensional equations for averaged stresses,displacements,and displacement *** twodimensional equations are solved by boundary integral *** stresses can be useful in zoning *** vertical velocities obtained from the creep model of the earth’s crust can serve as additional data to Central Asia’s horizontal velocities from GPS measurements.

Tecto nic stresses of Ce ntral Asia(limited by geographic coo rdinates 36-46°N,56-76°E)over the rece nt times are modeled based on moment elasticity,taking into account the focal mechanism of *** results obtained by the method of boundary integral *** relief of the earth’s surface,built on the map of Central Asia used to verify the solution of the inverse elasticity *** moment elasticity equations are simplified by assumingωk=εijkμi,j,which makes it possible to return to classical theory of elasticity,with the difference that the stress tensor ceases to be symmetricσij≠σ*** on the specifics of the geodynamic formulation of problems,the three-dimensional model reduced to a two-dimensional model for averaged stresses and *** to the results,a displacement field was constructed,which is fully consistent with the movements of the earth’s surface,established by the GPS *** model makes it possible to determine stresses variations in the region from earthquakes occurring in Central Asia.

Calcium(Ca2+) is an essential nutrient and a cellular signal in plants. The level of free Ca2+in the apoplast is ～10,000-fold higher than that in the cytoplasm at the resting state. This large Ca2+level gradient across the membrane between the interior and exterior can cause Ca2+overload and toxicity. Plants have evolved mechanisms to export Ca2+out of the cytoplasm or store it in intracellular organelles, such as endoplasmic reticulum（ER）, mitochondria, and vacuole.

Structural stability improvement, Williamson Hall analysis and band-gap tailoring through A-site Sr doping in rare earth based double perovskite La2NiMnO6

The structural,morphological and optical properties of single-phase polycrystalline La2-xSrxNiMnO6(x=0,0.3 and 0.5),synthesized by solid state reaction were *** samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM)/energy dispersive analysis of X-rays(EDAX),Raman spectroscopy and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy(DRS)to elucidate the role of A-site Sr-doping in double perovskite La2 *** analysis of XRD patterns revealed that all the samples have monoclinic structure with space group P21/*** gradient in the Williamson Hall plots revealed the presence of tensile strain in all the *** morphological studies revealed that average grain size increases along with appreciable decrease in porosity with Sr *** Ni/Mn antisite disorder was introduced in the La2 NiMnO6 by Sr-doping confirmed by an increase in the full width at half maximum(FWHM)and decrease in intensity of the Raman modes at around 540 and 665 cm-1 which correspond to the antisymmetric stretching and symmetric stretching modes,*** results reveal that the band gap in La2 NiMnO6 can be tuned down by Sr-doping to a value of1.37 eV(very close to 1.40 eV,considered as optimum value for better efficiency of a solar cell).Thus,Sr-doped La2 NiMnO6 may be of prime importance for applications in solar cells.

Electron Temperature Measurement Using PIN Diodes as Detectors to Record the X-ray Pulses from a Low-Energy Mather-Type Plasma Focus

In the experiment to determine the plasma electron temperature, a modifiedmultichannel PIN diodes assembly is used as detectors to record the X-ray pulses from a low-energyMather-type plasma focus device energized by a 32μF, 15 kV (3.6kJ) single capacitor, with deuteriumas a filling gas. The ratio of the integrated bremsstrahlung emission transmitting through foils tothe total incident flux as a function of foil thickness at various temperatures is obtained forfoil absorbers of material. Using 3 μm, 6 μm, 9 μm,12 μm,15 μm and 18 μm thick aluminiumabsorbers, the transmitted X-ray flux is detected. By comparing the experimental and theoreticalcurves through a computer program, the plasma electron temperature is determined. Results show thatthe deuterium focus plasma electron temperature is about 800 eV.

Comparison of Fission Induced by Protons and Pions

We compare the properties of fission induced by protons and *** different methodologies are used to make this ***,it is shown that pion-induced fission cross sections are not much different in magnitude from proton-induced fission cross sections at the same beam kinetic ***,across the pion-nucleon(3,3)resonance so prominent with free nucleons,it has been observed that there is no significant change in the reaction mechanism in the case of ***,it is noted that an empirical expression used for evaluations of proton-induced fission cross sections is also valid for positive pion-induced fission cross sections,at least for actinide *** cross sections computed using a cascade-exciton model code for ^(209)Bi and ^(238)U are also compared with the experimental data available.

Predictors of complicated dengue infections in endemic region of Pakistan

Objective:To predict the factors associated with progression to severe dengue infection to prevent potentially fatal complications and to identify the determinants of severe complicated ***:The study was conducted in a tertiary care hospitaldengue ward from September to November 2021 including confirmed dengue infected patients(positive NS1 antigen or antidengue-antibodies IgM).Secondary dengue infection was labelled by positive anti-dengue-antibodies IgG in active dengue infected *** history,physical examination,laboratory and radiological parameters,hospital stay(days)and mortality percentages were *** were classified into three groups according to disease severity:dengue fever(DF),dengue hemorrhagic fever(DHF)and dengue shock syndrome(DSS).The predictors of complicated dengue infection were determined by regression ***:The most common symptom was fever(96.9%).Among 129 patients,62.8%had DF,31.0%had DHF and only 6.2%developed *** of previous symptomatic dengue and positive anti-dengue-antibodies IgG were present in 100%DSS patients and nearly 75.0%DHF patients(P<0.05).The moratlity rate in patients with DSS,DHF and DF was 50.0%,2.5%and none respectively(P<0.05).Clinical parameters(body aches,bleeding,conjunctival hemorrhage,maculopapular rash,right hypochondrial tenderness,ascites,pleural effusion)and laboratory parameters(thrombocytopenia,raised alanine aminotransferase and secondary dengue infection)were determinants that complicate the dengue ***:Thrombocytopenia,raised alanine aminotransferase and secondary dengue infection are important laboratory parameters to complicate the disease process of dengue infection.

Plasmon mediated entanglement dynamics of distant quantum dots

We investigate the time evolution of entanglement between two quantum dots in an engineered vacuum environment such that a metallic nanoring having a surface plasmon is placed near the quantum dots. Such engineering in environment results in oscillations in entanglement dynamics of the quantum dots systems. With proper adjustment of the separation between the quantum dots, entanglement decay can be stabilized and preserved for longer time than its decay without the surface plasmons interactions.

Fission studies of gold induced by (1665 MeV) π^- using a CR-39 detector

The fission cross section and fission probability of 197Au, induced by （1665 MeV） π-, have been studied using CR-39 track detectors. A 4π-geometry was used to count track statistics. A beam of negative pions of 1665 MeV was produced at AGS of Brookhaven National Laboratory, USA, and allowed to fall normally on the stack. Two detectors from the stack were scanned for fission fragment tracks after etching in 6N NaOH at 70 ℃. The statistics of fission fragment tracks in both detectors were obtained. It was found that there was a marked asymmetry of registered tracks with respect to the forward and backward hemispheres. This asymmetry could be partly accounted for on the basis of momentum transfer to the struck nucleus. On the basis of counting statistics fission cross section was measured, and fission probability was determined by dividing the fission cross section with the reaction cross section. The fission cross-section and fission probability were compared with the computed values using the caseade-exciton model code CEM95.
