A country’s ability to create complex goods and diversify its lines of products is essential for addressing all types of *** a country’s vulnerability to extreme climatic events,such as droughts,superstorms,and other natural disasters,and its capacity for successful adaption,is an essential global need that has been *** study examines the role of economic fitness(EF)in addressing climate change risk ex‐posure in BRICS countries in the context of the environmental Kuznets curve using panel data from 1995 to *** threshold methodology is employed to ascertain the nonlinear relationship between EF and climate change risk exposure(i.e.,Notre Dame Global Adaptation Initiative Country Index(ND-GAIN)).In addition,empirical associations were estimated using panel-corrected standard errors,Driscoll-Kraay standard errors,and feasible generalized least squares estimation *** findings demonstrated an inverted N shaped link between EF and ***,even after controlling for significant ND-GAIN influencing variables such as gross domestic product per capita,financial development,and urbanization,our robustness checks revealed significant and consistent findings.

Diagnosis and Management of Childhood Tuberculosis: A Cross-Sectional Study of Practices in Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan

Background: Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the major killer diseases among infectious diseases. The success of TB control depends on the capability of the health care system to detect and accurately manage TB cases. Tuberculosis in children remained a low public health priority with limited epidemiologic studies. Struggles for TB control in children need to be enhanced as children are providing the reservoir for future cases to develop. Objectives: The study evaluated diagnostic and treatment practices related to childhood pulmonary tuberculosis in Gilgit Baltistan (GB), Pakistan. Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional study based on retrospective record review of childhood Pulmonary Tuberculosis patients registered in the year 2020 with self-administered questionnaire. Results: Data of 557 childhood cases were collected. Most childhood cases were in age group 1 - 4 years (54%) with male predominance. More than 90% were diagnosed and treated at public sector facilities. 99% of the cases were clinically diagnosed with passive case finding. Cough was considered as a symptom of childhood Tuberculosis (TB) by 94% of physicians. Other important features included failure to thrive (13%), contact with a family history of TB (15%), Malnutrition(24%) and respiratory signs (21%). 99% physicians advised chest X-ray, Complete blood count (CBC) (95%) and Erythrocytes sedimentation rate (ESR) (72%) for diagnosis and fewer physicians (2%) used sputum smear microscopy and induced sputum (0.1%). Combining data on dosage, frequency and duration for drugs, 99% of the cases were found receiving correct regimen. The treatment outcomes of the cases were cured 4 (0.8%), treatment completed 551 (99.3%) and died 2 (0.4%) with no lost to follow up. Conclusions: The study highlights inappropriate diagnostic and treatment practices for managing childhood pulmonary TB among physicians in public and private sectors of Gilgit Baltistan. 以导电石墨烯和导电炭黑为功能填料，以丁腈橡胶(NBR)为基胶，制备出导电性能较好的导电橡胶材料。以导电石墨烯为变量设计了6种不同的组分，开展了复合材料塑性、硫化性能、基本性能、力学性能、老化性能、高温性能性能、导电性能和电磁屏蔽效能实验，探究了加入导电石墨烯对导电炭黑/丁腈橡胶复合材料性能的影响规律。结果表明，在导电炭黑/丁腈橡胶复合材料中加入导电石墨烯，可提高复合材料的导电性，使之作为导电橡胶使用，如填充3份以上(质量份)石墨烯，材料具有一定的电磁屏蔽功能；也能降低复合材料的硫化时间，降低生产成本；导电石墨烯的添加对丁腈橡胶复合材料的热氧老化性能影响较大，但对高温性能影响较小；另外，导电石墨烯的添加会降低复合材料的力学性能，拉伸强度和撕裂强度降低率分别为7%和7.4%。在后续的研究中，将针对导电石墨烯在橡胶中的分散情况进行研究，改善其与橡胶材料的相容性。

Newcastle disease (ND) virus is a leading threat to commercial and domestic poultry in Pakistan. The virus infects and constitutes irreversible impairment to the nervous system, damages the respiratory system, and marks severe gastrointestinal lesions leading to heavy mortality in short-living birds and substantial losses in layers and breeders. The continuous emergence and evolution of the virus made it inclined to evade the humoral response and indirectly the circumvention of artificial active immunization. Newcastle disease is caused by the orthoavula genus of the paramyxoviridae family and has shown high genetic diversity even in their genotypes while information regarding enzootic trends of the virus is scanty in Pakistan. A total of 40 tracheal samples of NDV were collected from different commercial broiler farms and 11 isolates of NDV were identified. In the current study, we determined the genetic diversity of the Newcastle disease virus based on the partial sequencing of the fusion protein gene available in the NCBI database. Genetic analysis showed that seven isolates belonged to class I genotype VII and four belonged to class II genotype II. Interestingly, two isolates had epidemiological connections with vaccine-like class II genotype II. Our findings, concerning the recent outbreaks of class I genotype VII and class II genotype II of NDV in vaccinated commercial flocks, suggest possible potential partial mutations in the fusion protein gene. Genetic diversity and formation of the new cleavage site in an important neutralizing protein of wild strain are linked with the potency of artificial active immunization and a major cause of vaccine failure.

BACKGROUND In severe cases of coronary artery disease,percutaneous coronary intervention provide promising *** stent used could be a drug-eluting stent(DES)or a titanium-nitride-oxide coated stent(TiNOS).AIM To compare the 5-year effectiveness and safety of the two stent *** The following systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted in accordance with the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analysis guidelines,and PubMed/MEDLINE,Scopus,and Cochrane Central were searched from inception till August *** outcomes were major adverse cardiac events(MACE),cardiac death,myocardial infarction(MI),cardiac death or MI,and ischemia-driven total lesion revascularization(ID-TLR).RESulTS Four randomized controlled trials(RCT),which analyzed a sum total of 3045 patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS)after a median follow-up time of 5 years were *** statistically insignificant,an increase in the ID-TLR was observed in patients receiving TiNOSs vs *** addition,MI,cardiac death and MI,and definite stent thrombosis(DST)were significantly decreased in the TiNOS *** analysis revealed no significant results with meta-regression presenting non-ST elevated MI(NSTEMI)as a statistically significant covariate in the outcome of *** TiNOS was found to be superior to DES in terms of MI,cardiac death or MI,and DST outcomes,however,the effect of the two stent types on ID-TLR and MACE was not significant.A greater number of studies are required to establish an accurate comparison of patient outcomes in TiNOS and DES.

Objectives Blood stream infections(BSIs)are the main cause of morbidity and mortality in children *** present study was carried out to determine the prevalence of BSI with a focus on the identification of the causative agent of BSI,and to further evaluate the antibiotic susceptibility profile of the causing bacterial *** A cross-section study was carried out at the tertiary care hospital in Peshawar,Pakistan from January to December,*** samples were collected in BACTEC™botdes and standard microbiological protocols were applied for the isolation and identification of bacterial *** antibiotic susceptibility tests were performed using disc diffusion method as per the 2014 guideline of Clinical Laboratory Standard Institute(CLSI).Results Of 567 blood cultures in total,111(19.6%)were positive for *** children were 64%(71/111)and female children were 36%(40/111).For the causative predominant group of microorganisms,Gramnegative bacteria were identified in 79(71.1%)isolates,and Gram-positive bacteria in 32(28.9%)*** common bacteria of isolates were ***(n=35,31.5%),***(n=19,17.1%),***(n=18,16.2%),***(n=12,10.8%),and Enterococcus species(n=7,6.3%).The 36.7%(29/79)isolates of Gram-negative bacteria were ESBL producers,and 61.1%(11/18)of *** isolates were methicillin ***,72.9%isolates were multidrug *** Gram-negative bacteria were the main cause of pediatric BSIs,where the predominant microorganism was S.卯***,majority of the *** isolates were resistant to ciprofloxacin.

Deforestation and associated ecological disturbances are the issues of global *** have investigated a number of driving forces which accelerate the rate of deforestation at local and regional *** include poverty,population growth,market demand and prices,political instability,agricultural expansion and changes in property right and ownership *** paper seeks to explore the impacts of population growth,changing tenure system and other socioeconomic factors on the forest cover of Roghani Valley,located in Hindu Raj Mountains,Northern *** present study is mainly based on information collected through participatory observation,selfadministered interviews and questionnaire *** Information System(GIS) database is also used for mapping and *** results reveal that in the past three to four decades the study area has been subjected to severe deforestation and about half of the forest area has been converted into barren ***,the area under natural forests decreased from 2099 to 1444 hectares in four *** large-scale deforestation is attributed to both proximate and under lying causes particularly traditional land tenure system and demographic ***,forest resources have been degraded and a number of plant species have disappeared from the forests of the study area while several others are in the process of disappearance.

Forest cover change in the mountainous region is driven by a variety of anthropogenic and natural *** Hindu Kush-Himalayan Mountains has experienced a considerable vegetation cover change due to intensive human activities,such as population growth,proximate causes,accessibility,unstable political situations,government policy failure and *** present study seeks to find out the impact of population growth and road network expansion on forest cover of Palas valley based on remotely sensed data and employing geospatial *** in forest cover were determined by classifying time-series satellite images of Landsat and Sentinel 2 *** images of October 1980,2000,2010 and 2017 were classified into six land cover classes and then the impact of population growth and accessibility on forest cover was ***,forest cover and land-use change detection map was prepared using classified images of 1980 and *** data were collected mainly from field visits(ground verification),census reports,Communication and Works Department,*** imageries were obtained from the United States Geological Survey’s websites and classified in ERDAS imagine 2014 and ESRI ArcGIS 10.2.1 using supervised classification-maximum likelihood *** of this study revealed that a substantial reduction in forest cover has taken place mainly in the proximity of human *** the average,during the study period,annually more than 460 hectares of forest area has been converted into other uses.
