Paleocene–early Eocene post-subduction magmatism in Sikhote-Alin (Far East Russia): New constraints for the tectonic history of the Izanagi-Pacific ridge and the East Asian continental margin

New isotopic,geochemical and geochronological data justify the widespread occurrence of middle Paleocene to early Eocene(60–53 Ma)post-subduction felsic magmatism across the entire Sikhote-Alin territory(southeastern Russia),conform with previous observations in Northeast China,the southern Korean Peninsula,and the Inner Zone of *** igneous activity in East Asia coincided with the reactivation(after tectonic quiescence between~93–60Ma)of left-lateral strike-slip displacements along the Tan-Lu and Central Sikhote-Alin faults and with the post-60 Ma cessation of subduction/accretion recorded in the Shimanto belt of SW *** Sikhote-Alin post-subduction igneous A-type rocks present diverse mineralogical and geochemical features that suggest interactions of the subducting plate with anhydrous mantle upwelling through slab tears in the continental *** middle Paleocene–early Eocene magmatismis not related to subduction but is synchronous with strikeslip tectonics and the termination of accretionary prism development,suggesting a shift in tectonic regime from oceanic plate subduction at a convergent margin to parallel sliding and initiation of a transformcontinental *** new observations are inconsistent with the current tectonic model of 60–50 Ma Izanagi-Pacific ridge subduction beneath East Asian continental margin.

The interaction of the charged particles in the new Unitary Quantum theory isconsidered. It is shown that the distance of approachment of deuterons to each other verystrongly depends on the phase of the wave function and not only upon the energy. This thesis isnot discussed in the conventional quantum theory. It can easily explain the experiments on thecold nuclear fusion.

The review focuses on the most important areas of cell therapy for spinal cord *** mucosa cells are promising for *** these cells is safe for *** use of olfactory mucosa cells is effective in restoring motor function due to the remyelination and regeneration of axons after spinal cord *** cells express neurotrophic factors that play an important role in the functional recovery of nerve tissue after spinal cord *** addition,it is possible to increase the content of neurotrophic factors,at the site of injury,exogenously by the direct injection of neurotrophic factors or their delivery using gene *** advantages of olfactory mucosa cells,in combination with neurotrophic factors,open up wide possibilities for their application in threedimensional and four-dimensional bioprinting technology treating spinal cord injuries.

Dynamic magnetic hysteresis in a liquid suspension of acicular maghemite particles

This paper presents theoretical and experimental studies on the magnetodynamics and energy absorption in a dilute suspension of small ferromagnetic particles with magnetic hysteresis and mechanical mobility in an AC magnetic field. Experiments with 0.1% suspensions of acicular particles of gamma ferric oxide in solid and liquid matrices, subjected to a 430 Hz magnetic field with an intensity of up to 1200 Oe, revealed important role of particle mobility. The main qualitative and quantitative features of the phenomenon are in agreement with a model of joint magneto-mechanical dynamics of particles with a chain-of-spheres mode of incoherent magnetic reversal.

Torque teno virus in liver diseases: On the way towards unity of view

The review presents the data accumulated for more than 20 years of research of torque teno virus(TTv).Its molecular genetic structure,immunobiology,epidemiology,diagnostic methods,possible replication sites,and pathogenicity factors are *** is a virus that is frequently detectable in patients with different viral hepatitides,in cases of hepatitis without an obvious viral agent,as well as in a healthy *** is evidence suggesting that biochemical and histological changes occur in liver tissue and bile duct epithelium in TTv *** are sufficient histological signs of liver damage,which confirm that the virus can undergo a replicative cycle in *** with this,cytological hybridization in TTv-infected cells has shown no substantial cytopathic(cell-damaging)effects that are characteristic of pathogenic hepatotropic *** TTv has led to the evolution of views on its role in the development of human *** first ideas about the hepatotropism of the virus were gradually reformed as new data became available on the prevalence of the virus and its co-infection with other viruses,including the viruses of the known types of *** high prevalence of TTv in the human population indicates its persistence in the body as a virome and a nonpathogenic *** has recently been proposed that the level of TTv DNA in the blood of patients undergoing organ transplantation should be used as an endogenous marker of the body’s immune *** available data show the polytropism of the virus and deny the fact that TTv can be assigned exclusively to hepatitis ***,the rare detection of the damaging effect of TTv on hepatic and bile duct epithelial cells may be indirect evidence of its conditionally pathogenic *** ubiquity of the virus and the variability of its existence in humans cannot put an end to its study.

The Functional Role of the Hollow Region of the Butterfly Pyrameis atalanta (L.) Scale

Questions concerning the functional role of the hollow region of the butterfly Pyrameis atalanta （L.） scale are experimentally investigated. Attention was initially directed to this problem by observation of the complex microstrucmre of the butterfly scale as well as other studies indicating higher lift on butterfly wings covered with scale. The aerodynamic forces were measured for two oscillating scale models. Results indicated that the air cavity of an oscillating model of the Pyrameis atalanta （L.） scale increased the lift by a factor of 1.15 and reduced the damping coefficients by a factor of 1.38. The modification of the aerodynamic effects on the model of butterfly scale was due to an increase of the virtual air mass, which influenced the body. The hollow region of the scale increased the virtual air mass by a factor of 1.2. The virtual mass of the butterfly scale with the hollow region was represented as the sum of air mass of two imaginary geometrical figures： a circular cylinder around the scale and a right-angled parallelepiped within the hollow region. The interaction mechanism of the butterfly Pyrameis atalanta （L.） scale with a flow was described. This novel interaction mechanism explained most geometrical features of the airpermeable butterfly scale （inverted v-profile of the ridges, nozzle of the tip edge, hollow region, and openings of the upper lamina） and their arrangement.

Depositional Environment of Cherts of the Sikhote-Alin Region(Russia Far East): Evidence from Major, Trace and Rare Earth Elements Geochemistry

The first data of geochemical study of the Benevka Section cherty rocks belonging to the Taukha terrane of the Sikhote-Alin Late Jurassic-Early Cretaceous accretionary prism, Russia Far East are presented. These data demonstrate essential distinctions of major, trace and rare earth element concentrations in different parts of the measured stratigraphic section. The lower chert horizons exhibit high Fe2O3 and MnO contents, low concentrations of Al2O3 and TiO2, relatively high v/Y ratio, and extremely low value of negative Ce anomaly. In contrast the upper horizons composed of clayey cherts and siliceous mudstones are characterized by high Al2O3, TiO2 and K2O contents, low Fe2O3 and MnO values, low v/Y ratio, and slightly negative Ce anomaly. In the middle part of the Benevka Section, in which cherts gradually changed to clayey cherts, intermediate geochemical characteristics are present. Based on these data obtained the depositional environments correspond to proximal to the spreding ridge, open-ocean and near continental margin regimes were successfully reconstructed from bottom to top of the Benevka Section, that indicate that significant horizontal movement took place of the sea-floor, on which the cherts were deposited.
