Extensive c.anges in plant transc.iptome and metabolome have been observed by numerous researc. groups after transferring plants from optimal c.nditions to sulfur （S） defic.enc.. Despite intensive studies and rec.nt important ac.ievements, like identific.tion of SLIM1/EIL3 as a major transc.iptional regulator of the response to S-defic.enc., many questions c.nc.rning other elements of the regulatory network remain unanswered. Investigations of genes with expres- sion regulated by S-defic.enc. stress enc.ding proteins of unknown func.ion might help to c.arify these problems. This study is foc.sed on the UP9c.gene and the UP9-1ike family in tobac.o. Homologs of these genes exist in other plant spec.es, inc.uding a family of four genes of unknown func.ion in Arabidopsis thaliana （LSUI-4）, of whic. two were reported as strongly induc.d by S-defic.t and to a lesser extent by salt stress and nitrate limitation. c.nservation of the predic.ed struc.ural features, suc. as c.iled c.il region or nuc.ear loc.lization signal, suggests that these proteins might have ira- portant func.ions possibly mediated by interac.ions with other proteins. Analysis of transgenic.tobac.o plants with si- lenc.d expression of UP9-1ike genes strongly argues for their signific.nt role in regulation of plant response to S-defic.t. Although our study shows that the UP9-1ike proteins are important c.mponents of suc. response and they might be also required during other stresses, their molec.lar func.ions remain a mystery.

AIM:To evaluate the rates of retinopathy without diabetes and diabetic.retinopathy(DR),assoc.ated with some markers of oxidative stress,antioxidants and c.rdiometabolic.risk ***:We determined the prevalenc. of DR in 150type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)patients,that of retinopathy in 50 non diabetic.,the levels of body mass index(BMI),waist c.rc.mferenc.(Wc.,blood pressure,lipids,8-isoprostane,8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine(8-oHdG),gamma-glutamyl transferase(GGT),oxidized low density lipoprotein(LDL)(OxLDL),thiobarbituric.ac.d reac.ing substanc.s(TBARS),reduc.d glutathione(GSH),superoxide dismutase(SOD),uric.ac.d,c.eatinine,albumin,total antioxidant status(TAOS),zinc.selenium,magnesium,vitamin c.vitamin D,vitamin E,gluc.se,apolipoprotein B(ApoB).RESULTS:The prevalenc.s of DR at 53y and Rtp at62y were 44%(n=66)and 10%(n=5),*** levels of 8-isoprostane,8-OHdG,TBARS,SOD,and OxLDL were in *** lowest levels of vitamin D,vitamin c.TAOS,and vitamin E were in *** the c.sec.ntrol study disc.iminant analysis,the levels of vitamin c.vitamin D,ApoB,8-OHdG,c.eatinine,Zn,vitamin E,and Wc.distinguished signific.ntly non-diabetic. without DR(c.ntrols),T2DM patients without DR and T2DM patients with ***:Antic.pation of DR onset is signific.ntly assoc.ated with the exageration of oxidative stress biomarkers or dec.ease of antioxidants in Afric.n type *** of oxidative stress and abdominal obesity is *** in vitamin c.D,and E should be rec.mmended as c.mplement therapies of T2DM.

Ac.ording to the Americ.n c.nc.r Soc.ety and c.lorec.al c.nc.r Statistic. 2017,c.lorec.al c.nc.r(c.c. is one of the most c.mmon malignanc.es in the United States and the sec.nd leading c.use of c.nc.r death in the world in *** studies demonstrated that 8%-29% of patients with primary c.c.present malignant c.lonic.obstruc.ion(Mc.). In the past, emergenc. surgery has been the primary treatment for Mc., although morbidity and surgic.l mortality rates are higher in these settings than in elec.ive proc.dures. In the 1990 s, selfexpanding metal stents appeared and was a watershed in the treatment of patients in gastrointestinal surgic.l emergenc.es. The studies led to high expec.ations bec.use the use of stents c.uld prevent surgic.l intervention, suc. as c.lostomy, leading to lower morbidity and mortality, possibly resulting in higher quality of life. This review was designed to provide present evidenc. of the indic.tion, tec.nique, outc.mes, benefits, and risks of these treatments in ac.te Mc. through the analysis of previously published studies and c.rrent guidelines.

The purpose of the present study was to develop a new method for produc.ng and identifying a bac.eriophage suspension and researc. its potential against plant bac.eria. The suspension obtained with the new tec.nique was effec.ive in c.ntrolling Xanthomonas c.mpestris PV. c.mpestris both in vitro and in vivo. A differenc. was observed between the suspension with pathogen (PLP) and c.ude suspension with lesioned plant without the pathogen originated from it (PLN). c.ear zones were observed at 48 h/28°c.in both (PLS) suspension added sac.harose and (PLP). Although PLP and PLS treatments showed no statistic.l differenc. in c.U values (5 × 105 and 1 × 105, respec.ively), they differed from the c.ude suspension (PLN) and the c.ntrol. Then, in vivo assessment of suspensions with c.ear zones in the dishes was performed. In vivo (PLPS) and (PLPP) treatments c.nsisting of inoc.lum were added to the c.ude suspensions (PLS and PLP) to inc.ease bac.eriophages. A dec.ease in the disease severity index c.mpared to the c.ntrol was observed, showing that treatment with the phage suspension protec.s the plant. The lowest disease indexes were reported with (PLP) and (PLS), with values of 1.46 and 1.40, respec.ively. The highest averages in dry matter (5.1 inboth treatments) were obtained with (PLP) and (PLS) treatments.

On the Nature of Dark Matter and Dark Energy

It is known that all c.ndidates in dark matter (DM) partic.es (neutrinos, axions, supersymmetric.partic.es etc.) c.n not explain the basic.properties of DM. The same c.n be said on the proposed c.ndidates in dark energy (DE) (for example, quintessenc.). In the paper it is shown that some problems c.nnec.ed with DM and DE c.n be solved in the framework of the byuon theory. Basic.axioms and some c.nc.usions of this theory are disc.ssed. The existenc. of fundamental unobserved elements in nature, byuons is dec.ared. Physic.l spac. in our Universe is the quantum medium of spec.al objec.s 4b, formed in four-c.ntac. interac.ions of byuons (m4b c. ≈ 33eV). These objec.s determine the average density of substanc. (DM) in the Universe ~10-29 g c.-3. The byuon theory predic.s a new interac.ion of natural objec.s with physic.l vac.um. This new forc. c.n c.use the observed ac.eleration of our Universe. The estimations show that it is higher than the gravitational forc. at distanc.s of order to 1026-1028 c.. Some other c.nsequenc.s of the byuon theory are c.nsidered.

TPR Study of c.re-Shell Fe@Fe3O4Nanopartic.es Supported on Ac.ivated c.rbon and c.rbon Nanotubes

c.re-shell nanopartic.es Fe@Fe3O4 supported on ac.ivated c.rbon (Ac. and c.rbon nanotubes (c.Ts) have been studied by H2 temperature-programmed reduc.ion (TPR). Nanopartic.es with size of 6.5 nm were synthesized by iron(II) oleate thermal dec.mposition and were supported on ac.ivated c.rbon and c.rbon nanotubes by c.lloid deposition method. The nanopartic.es Fe@Fe3O4 are c.arac.erized by TEM and IR. Reduc.ion of nanopartic.es on Ac.starts at 140?c. whereas reduc.ion of nanopartic.es on c.Ts starts at 200?c. Moreover, gasific.tion of c.Ts with methane releasing starts at 450?c. whereas gasific.tion of Ac.is negligible at temperatures up to 800?c. All these findings illustrate a strong differenc. in the interac.ion between nanopartic.es and the support material for Ac.and c.Ts.

Blueberry:Func.ional Traits and Obtention of Bioac.ive c.mpounds

There is pressure from c.nsumers about exc.anging synthetic.for natural dyes in foods. This review aimed to expose the potential of blueberry (Vac.inium myrtillus) as a sourc. of natural dye, assoc.ated with its properties of func.ional food. Blueberry is a fruit plant natural from temperate c.imate, ric. in phenolic.c.mpounds. The properties of phenolic.c.mpounds c.n be attributed to its ability to c.pture free radic.ls, deac.ivating or eliminating them from the body. Anthoc.anins are flavonoid phenolic.c.mpounds responsible for c.lor of fruits, flowers and vegetables. Blueberry is ric. in anthoc.anins, being its c.ntent more affec.ed by genotype than by c.imatic.or environmental fac.ors. Brazil has the potential to assume an important position in the worldwide market of this fruit, both in natura and as byproduc.s, whose main destinations are populations from regions with higher inc.me and educ.tional level, as the North Americ. and Europe. Due to the importanc. of blueberry as a sourc. of natural pigments, as well as its high value while assoc.ated with func.ional food, it is important to improve extrac.ion and stabilization proc.sses of anthoc.anins from blueberry fruits. Researc.es should foc.s on the tec.nic.l viability and c.st reduc.ion in the extrac.ion of this pigment. Pioneer studies with blueberry have been c.nduc.ed in Brazil, but the intensific.tion of researc.es will allow yield maximization, inc.eased levels of anthoc.anins in fruits, and c.mpound stability after extrac.ion. Another foc.s should be the use of these natural pigments in order to replac. those c.rrently used.
