Canadian children’s and youth’s adherence to the 24-h movement guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic: A decision tree analysis

Purpose:the purpose of this study was to use decision tree modeling to generate profiles of children and youth who were more and less likely to meet the Canadian 24-h movement guidelines during the coronavirus disease-2019(COVID-19)***:Data for this study were from a nationally representative sample of 1472 Canadian parents(Meanage=45.12,SD=7.55)of children(511 years old)or youth(1217 years old).Data were collected in April 2020 via an online *** items assessed demographic,behavioral,social,micro-environmental,and macro-environmental *** decision trees of adherence and non-adherence to all movement recommendations combined and each individual movement recommendation(physical activity(PA),screen time,and sleep)were ***:Results revealed specific combinations of adherence and non-adherence *** associated with adherence to the recommendation(s)included high parental perceived capability to restrict screen time,annual household income ofCAD 100,000,increases in children’s and youth’s outdoor PA/sport since the COVID-19 outbreak began,being a boy,having parents younger than 43 years old,and small increases in children’s and youth’s sleep duration since the COVID-19 outbreak *** associated with non-adherence to the recommendation(s)included low parental perceived capability to restrict screen time,youth aged 1217 years,decreases in children’s and youth’s outdoor PA/sport since the COVID-19 outbreak began,primary residences located in all provinces except Quebec,low parental perceived capability to support children’s and youth’s sleep and PA,and annual household income ofCAD 99,***:Our results show that specific characteristics interact to contribute to(non)adherence to the movement behavior *** highlight the importance of targeting parents’perceived capability for the promotion of children’s and youth’s movement behaviors during challengin

Physical activity, screen time and pediatric health-related quality of life in the Mississippi Delta

Background: the association of physical activity (PA) and screen time (St) on health-related quality of life (HRQOL) among predominantly low-income children in the Mississippi Delta region has not been previously described. Methods: We performed a cross-sectional survey to assess health risks from a representative sample of the population ≥3 years old in the Delta Region of Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Linear models were utilized to examine Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory (PedsQL) scores based on reported PA and St. Results: Median age of the 371 participants was 9.8 years, 57% were African American, and 26% had annual household income ≤$14,999. Overall, 262 (75%) were categorized as physically active and 48% reported >2 hours St per day. Children reporting exercising 5 - 7 days per week had significantly better PedsQL total score (84.3 vs 80.8;p 2 hours per day) did not significantly impact HRQOL. Conclusions: Findings suggest that PA among children living in the Mississippi Delta was related to higher HRQOL;however, the positive effects of PA on HRQOL may be less for minority and low-income children.

Cystathionine-γ-lyase(CSE),an enzyme associated with hydrogen sulfide(H2S)production,is an important endogenous regulator of *** domain-containing protein 3(JMJD3)is implicated in the immune response and ***,we investigated the potential contribution of JMJD3 to endogenous CSE-mediated inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis(RA).Upregulated CSE and JMJD3 were identified in synovial fibroblasts(SFs)from RA patients as well as in the joints of arthritic *** down CSE augmented inflammation in IL-1β-induced SFs by increasing JMJD3 *** addition,CSE−/−mice with collagen-induced arthritis(CIA)developed severe joint inflammation and bone ***,overexpressing CSE inhibited JMJD3 expression by the transcription factor Sp-1 and was accompanied by reduced inflammation in IL-1β-treated ***,JMJD3 silencing or the administration of the JMJD3 inhibitor GSK-J4 significantly decreased the inflammatory response in IL-1β-treated SFs,mainly by controlling the methylation status of H3K27me3 at the promoter of its target ***-J4 markedly attenuated the severity of arthritis in CIA *** conclusion,suppressing JMJD3 expression by the transcription factor Sp-1 is likely responsible for the ability of CSE to negatively modulate the inflammatory response and reduce the progression of RA.

本文用EB病毒转化自体淋巴细胞所建立的类淋巴母细胞系(LCL),以及用EB病毒潜伏感染膜蛋白(LMP)基因和核蛋白-2(EBNA2)基因与痘苗病毒重组的重组病毒(Vac-LMP和Vac-EBNA2)感染的自身纤维母细胞,同时作为刺激细胞和靶细胞,以^(51)Cr释放法检测5例血清中EB病毒VCA—IgA抗体阳性者及1例阴性健康者外周血单个核细胞(PBMC)的特异性t细胞杀伤效应。结果表明,用自身LCL激活的EB病毒特异性t细胞杀伤效应高峰出现在第14～28天;参与杀伤性细胞免疫反应的t细胞亚群主要是t3、t8阳性的细胞毒性t细胞,其对靶细胞的识别及杀伤受HLA-I的限制。用重组牛痘病毒感染的纤维母细胞作靶细胞或刺激细胞,有1例供者可接受LMP,另1例可接受EBNA2的刺激,并对相应的靶细胞产生特异性t细胞杀伤反应,表明EB病毒-LMP和EBNA2可能既是EB病毒特异性t细胞的刺激抗原,又是其识别的靶抗原。
