Investigation that protein oxidation to the formation of advanced glycation end products(AGEs)after chicken myofibrillar protein glycation is limited.Models of protein oxidation induced by different concentrations of hydroxyl radicals(·OH)were developed after the chicken myofibrillar protein mild glycation(MPG).Results exhibited that levels of AGEs and surface hydrophobicity(H_(0))steadily increased with the a ddition of h ydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2))concentration.However,levels of s ulfhydryl group,free amino group,and particle size gradually decreased with the H_(2)O_(2)concentration.The protein carbonyl value increased in H_(2)O_(2)concentration until 10 mmol/L.Pearson's correlation indicated that MPG structure modification(unfolding and degradation)induced by protein oxidation were significantly positively correlated with AGEs concentration(P<0.05).Finally,a mechanism was proposed to hypothesize t he effect of protein oxidation on the formation of AGEs under MPG conditions.

Advanced glycation end products(AGE) are potential harmful substances formed in the advanced Maillard reaction and increasingly investigated in muscle foods. However, the contribution of oxidation to the AGE formation is controversial. Moreover, reports on glyoxal(GO) induced AGE formation in chicken meat emulsion(CME) are limited. Thus, the effects of GO on emulsifying properties, rheological behavior and AGE formation in CME were investigated. Our findings exhibited that levels of Nε-carboxymethyllysine(CML) and Nε-carboxyethyllysine(CEL) were associated with lipid oxidation but not significantly(P > 0.05). Levels of AGE peaked when GO concentration ranged from 5 mmol/L(CML) to 10 mmol/L(CEL). The droplets’ aggregation associated with the disulfide bond when the concentration of GO was at 0.5–30 mmol/L while non-disulfide bond association occurred at 30–50 mmol/L GO concentration. In conclusion, compared to the effect of oxidation, GO exhibited the main role in the AGE formation of CME. This study will provide theoretical significance for further understanding and controlling the formation of AGE in CME.

Lung cancer is a leading cause of global mortality rates.Early detection of pulmonary tumors can significantly enhance the survival rate of patients.Recently,various Computer-Aided Diagnostic(CAD)methods have been developed to enhance the detection of pulmonary nodules with high accuracy.Nevertheless,the existing method-ologies cannot obtain a high level of specificity and sensitivity.The present study introduces a novel model for Lung Cancer Segmentation and Classification(LCSC),which incorporates two improved architectures,namely the improved U-Net architecture and the improved AlexNet architecture.The LCSC model comprises two distinct stages.The first stage involves the utilization of an improved U-Net architecture to segment candidate nodules extracted from the lung lobes.Subsequently,an improved AlexNet architecture is employed to classify lung cancer.During the first stage,the proposed model demonstrates a dice accuracy of 0.855,a precision of 0.933,and a recall of 0.789 for the segmentation of candidate nodules.The suggested improved AlexNet architecture attains 97.06%accuracy,a true positive rate of 96.36%,a true negative rate of 97.77%,a positive predictive value of 97.74%,and a negative predictive value of 96.41%for classifying pulmonary cancer as either benign or malignant.The proposed LCSC model is tested and evaluated employing the publically available dataset furnished by the Lung Image Database Consortium and Image Database Resource Initiative(LIDC-IDRI).This proposed technique exhibits remarkable performance compared to the existing methods by using various evaluation parameters.

Zinc telluride is a versatile wide band gap semiconductor used in many applications.But it has certain limitations like large dimensions and large band gaps.Introducing alkali metal to its bulk lattice(3D)can reduce its dimensions and lanthanide can produce a red shift in the energy gap by converting it into quaternary compounds.The alkali and lanthanide incorporated quaternary zinc tellurides CsLnZnTe_(3)(Ln=La,Pr,Nd and Sm)form layered crystal structure in which_(∞)^(2)[LnZnTe_(3)]-layers are separated by Cs+layer.The famous lanthanide contraction is experimental both from lattice constants and bond lengths.The calculated band gaps are 2.26,2.28,2.12,2.05 eV for CsLaZnTe_(3),CsPrZnTe_(3),CsNdZnTe_(3) and CsSmZnTe_(3),respectively.These compounds show direct band gap nature.The energy band gaps of these compounds have not been evaluated yet both experimentally and theoretically.Energy loss functions,refractive index and dielectric functions were also calculated to explore the potential applications of CsLnZnTe_(3) in optoelectronic devices.

In recent years,it has been evident that internet is the most effective means of transmitting information in the form of documents,photographs,or videos around the world.The purpose of an image compression method is to encode a picture with fewer bits while retaining the decompressed image’s visual quality.During transmission,this massive data necessitates a lot of channel space.In order to overcome this problem,an effective visual compression approach is required to resize this large amount of data.This work is based on lossy image compression and is offered for static color images.The quantization procedure determines the compressed data quality characteristics.The images are converted from RGB to International Commission on Illumination CIE La^(∗)b^(∗);and YCbCr color spaces before being used.In the transform domain,the color planes are encoded using the proposed quantization matrix.To improve the efficiency and quality of the compressed image,the standard quantization matrix is updated with the respective image block.We used seven discrete orthogonal transforms,including five variations of the Complex Hadamard Transform,Discrete Fourier Transform and Discrete Cosine Transform,as well as thresholding,quantization,de-quantization and inverse discrete orthogonal transforms with CIE La^(∗)b^(∗);and YCbCr to RGB conversion.Peak to signal noise ratio,signal to noise ratio,picture similarity index and compression ratio are all used to assess the quality of compressed images.With the relevant transforms,the image size and bits per pixel are also explored.Using the(n,n)block of transform,adaptive scanning is used to acquire the best feasible compression ratio.Because of these characteristics,multimedia systems and services have a wide range of possible applications.

Robust Half-Metallicity and Magnetic Properties of Cubic Perovskite CaFeO_(3)

Theoretical studies of the cubic perovskite CaFeO3 are performed using the full potential linearized augmented plane-wave method with GGA+U.The calculated structural parameters are consistent with the experimental results.The tolerance factor reveals the cubic phase of the compound.The spin polarized electronic band structures and densities of states as well as the integer value of the magnetic moment of the unit cell(4μB)demonstrate that CaFeO_(3)is half metal.Ferromagnetism in CaFeO_(3)is due to Fe^(+4)–O^(2)–Fe^(+4)superexchange interaction.The robust properties of the compound show that with their compression up to a certain critical lattice constant,known as the robust transition lattice constant,an abrupt change in the electronic and magnetic properties occurs;the compounds lose their integer magnetic moment and become metallic.

Elucidation of a reaction mechanism is the most critical aspect for designing electrodes for highperformance secondary batteries.Herein,we investigate the sodium insertion/extraction into an iron fluoride hydrate(FeF_(3)·0.5H_(2)O)electrode for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs).The electrode material is prepared by employing an ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium-tetrafluoroborate,which serves as a reaction medium and precursor for F^(-)ions.The crystal structure of FeF_(3)·0.5H_(2)O is observed as pyrochlore type with large open 3-D tunnels and a unit cell volume of 1129A^(3).The morphology of FeF_(3)·0.5H_(2)O is spherical shape with a mesoporous structure.The microstructure analysis reveals primary particle size of around 10 nm.The FeF_(3)·0.5H_(2)O cathode exhibits stable discharge capacities of 158,210,and 284 mA h g^(-1) in three different potential ranges of 1.5-4.5,1.2-4.5,and 1.0-4.5 V,respectively at 0.05 C rate.The specific capacities remained stable in over 50 cycles in all three potential ranges,while the rate capability was best in the potential range of 1.5-4.5 V.The electrochemical sodium storage mechanism is studied using X-ray absorption spectroscopy,indicating higher conversion at a more discharged state.Ex-situ M?ssbauer spectroscopy strengthens the results for reversible reduction/oxidation of Fe.These results will be favorable to establish high-performance cathode materials with selective voltage window for SIBs.

We investigate one-dimensional position microscopy of a three-level atom moving through a stationary wave region under the condition of electromagnetically induced transparency.The precise position information of an atom is observed on the resonance absorption and dispersion distribution spectrum of a weak probe field.Single and multiple localization peaks are observed in specific directions of the corresponding wave numbers and phase of the standing wave fields.The strength of space-independent Rabi frequency reduces the position uncertainty in the localized peaks without disturbing the probability of the atom.In a hot atomic medium the localized probability of an atom is reduced which depends upon the temperature of that medium.Our results provide useful applications in the development of laser cooling,atom nanolithography and Bose-Einstein condensation.

The Western tragopan(Tragopan melanocephalus)is recorded in the IUCN Red List of 2017 as a vulnerable bird species in Pakistan.This study provides valuable information for the conservation of Western tragopan,which is a globally threatened avian flagship species in Pakistan.This study was conducted to investigate and resolve the conservation challenges surrounding the species in two major habitat zones-Salkhala Game Reserve and Machiara National Park.The study was implemented in May-June 2020 for population density using call count data.Also,questionnaire was used for local residents’perceptions and habitat suitability modeling map was generated using the MaxEnt model based on previously recorded occurrence points as well as recorded in the survey.A total of 26 western Tragopans were identified by call count during the sampling period.Moreover,about 77.3%cited Western Tragopan they more likely to hunt while the remaining 22.6%locals recorded other pheasant.About 45.3%of this hunting for fun but only 22%for economic values and only 3%of people consider hunting as a part of their culture.Results of modeling habitat suitability of the Western tragopan showed that the species suitable habitats are small and patchy in Pakistan.We found that the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI)with 40.6 percent contribution was the most important variable in shaping the species distribution.Our model identified some new suitable patches which can be the target of future field monitoring for finding new populations of the species and future conservation planning.

Classical algorithms and data structures assume that the underlying memory is reliable,and the data remain safe during or after processing.However,the assumption is perilous as several studies have shown that large and inexpensive memories are vulnerable to bit flips.Thus,the correctness of output of a classical algorithm can be threatened by a few memory faults.Fault tolerant data structures and resilient algorithms are developed to tolerate a limited number of faults and provide a correct output based on the uncorrupted part of the data.Suffix tree is one of the important data structures that has widespread applications including substring search,super string problem and data compression.The fault tolerant version of the suffix tree presented in the literature uses complex techniques of encodable and decodable error-correcting codes,blocked data structures and fault-resistant tries.In this work,we use the natural approach of data replication to develop a fault tolerant suffix tree based on the faulty memory random access machine model.The proposed data structure stores copies of the indices to sustain memory faults injected by an adversary.We develop a resilient version of the Ukkonen’s algorithm for constructing the fault tolerant suffix tree and derive an upper bound on the number of corrupt suffixes.
