electroactive self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) containing viologen group are formed through the adsorption of thiol-functionalized viologen compound ch3(ch2)(9)V2+(ch2)(8)SH, where V2+ is N,N'-dialkylbipyridinium (i.e. a viologen group), onto gold electrodes from methanol/water solution and its electrochemical behavior is investigated ty Ac voltammetry and square wave voltammetry, which have the high sensitivity against background charging. The viologen SAM formed is a sub-monolayer and the normal potentials corresponding to the two successive one-electron transfer processes of the active centers (viologen) are -360 mV and -750 mV (vs. Ag/AgCl) in 0.1 mol/L phosphate buffer solutions (pH 6.96) respectively, and the standard electron transfer rate constant is 9.0 s(-1). The electrochemical behavior of this SAM in various solutions has been preliminarily discussed.

To achieve fabrication and cost competitiveness in organic optoelectronic devices that include organic solar cells(OSCs)and organic light-emitting diodes(OLeDs),it is desirable to have one type of material that can simultaneously function as both the electron and hole transport layers(eTLs and HTLs)of the organic devices in all device architectures(i.e.,normal and inverted architectures).We address this issue by proposing and demonstrating Cs-intercalated metal oxides(with various Cs mole ratios)as both the eTL and HTL of an organic optoelectronic device with normal and inverted device *** results demonstrate that the new approach works well for widely used transition metal oxides of molybdenum oxide(MoOx)and vanadium oxide(V_(2)O_(x)).Moreover,the Cs-intercalated metaloxide-based eTL and HTL can be easily formed under the conditions of a room temperature,water-free and solution-based *** conditions favor practical applications of OSCs and ***,with the analyses of the Kelvin probe System,our approach of Cs-intercalated metal oxides with a wide mole ratio range of transition metals(Mo or V)/Cs from 1:0 to 1:0.75 can offer significant and continuous work function tuning as large as 1.31 eV for functioning as both an eTL and ***,our method of intercalated metal oxides can contribute to the emerging large-scale and low-cost organic optoelectronic devices.

The aim of this work was to develop a Ti6Al4V/20CoCrMo−highly porous Ti6Al4V bilayer for biomedical *** powder metallurgy technique,with semi-solid state sintering as consolidation step,was employed to fabricate samples with a compact top layer and a porous bottom layer to better mimic natural *** densification behavior of the bilayer specimen was studied by dilatometry and the resulting microstructure was observed by scan electron microscopy(SeM)and computed microtomography(CMT),while the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance were evaluated by compression and potentiodynamic tests,*** results indicate that bilayer samples without cracks were obtained at the interface which has no negative impact on the *** values of the highly porous layer were in the lower range of those of human *** compression behavior is dictated by the highly porous Ti6Al4V ***,the corrosion resistance of Ti6Al4V/20CoCrMo is better than that of Ti6Al4V,which improves the performance of the bilayer *** work provides an insight into the important aspects of a bilayer fabrication by powder metallurgy and properties of Ti6Al4V/20CoCrMo−highly porous Ti6Al4V structure,which can potentially benefit the production of customized implants with improved wear performance and increased in vivo lifetime.

In this communication,the electrical conductivities and thermal expansion studies of microwave sintered co-doped ceria Ce_(0.8)Y_(0.2-x)Dy_(x)O_(2-δ)(x=0,0.05,0.10,0.15 and 0.20) solid electrolyte materials for intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cells(IT-SOFCs)synthesized by sol-gel auto-combustion method were *** sintering at 1300℃ for 30 min was used for making dense powder *** relative densities of all the samples are noticed above 95%.Raman spectrum was characterized by the presence of a very strong band near 460 cm^(-1),which along with X-ray diffraction(XRD) analysis ascertain the sample formation with a single-phase cubic fluorite *** lattice parameter values were calculated from XRD *** images show nearly uniform grains with distinct grain *** thermal expansion coefficients(TeCs) are found to vary linearly with temperature and were measured in the range from 14.15 to 13.20×10^(-6)℃^(-1).The investigation on total ionic conductivity(TIC) was executed with variation in dopant concentration and relative oxygen *** impedance analysis reveals that the sample Ce_(0.80)Y_(0.10)Dy_(0.10)O_(2-δ) displays the highest TIC,i.e.,7.5×10^(-3) S·cm^(-1) at 500℃ and minimum activation energy 0.90 eV compared to *** the highest TIC and minimum activation energy,the Ce_(0.80)Y_(0.10)Dy_(0.10)O_(2-δ)might be the possible material as the solid electrolyte in intermediate temperature SOFCs.

合成了一种非离子-阴离子Bola型智能表面活性剂,通过pH-响应可以在非离子型ch_(3)O(eO)_(5)-R_(11)-COOH(pHpKa)之间转换。单独使用时,非离子型和Bola型分别表现为不良乳化剂和优良乳化剂。与纳米SiO_(2)颗粒复配使用时,非离子型能与SiO_(2)颗粒协同稳定O/W(正癸烷)型pickering乳状液,其中表面活性剂通过氢键作用吸附到颗粒表面产生原位疏水化作用,提高了颗粒的表面活性,并且这种pickering乳状液具有pH-和温度-双重响应性,能够通过改变pH或者温度使乳状液在稳定和破乳之间实现多次转换。另一方面,Bola型ch_(3)O(eO)5-R_(11)-COONa能够与纳米SiO_(2)颗粒协同稳定分散液包油(oil-in-dispersion)乳状液,该乳状液具有良好的耐温性,但对调节pH时产生的盐较为敏感。然而与破乳后能完全返回水相便于回收再利用的同系物ch_(3)O(eO)7-R_(11)-COOH相比,具有较短eO链的ch_(3)O(eO)_(5)-R_(11)-COOH无论处于非离子型还是Bola型状态仍具有相当的油溶性,破乳后不能完全返回水相,表明eO数大小对这类新型智能表面活性剂的性能有显著的影响。

Rapid prototyping,real-time control and monitoring of various events in robots are crucial requirements for research in the fields of modular and swarm robotics.A large quantities of resources(time,man power,infrastructure,etc.)are often invested in programming,interfacing the sensors,debugging the response to algorithms during prototyping and operational phases of a robot development *** cost of developing an optimal infrastructure to efficiently address such control and monitoring requirements increases significantly in the presence of mobile *** numerous solutions have been developed for minimizing the resources spent on hardware prototyping and algorithm validation in both static and mobile scenarios,it can be observed that researchers have either chosen methodologies that conflict with the power and infrastructure constraints of the research field or generated constrained solutions whose applications are restricted to the field *** paper develops a solution for addressing the challenges in controlling heterogeneous mobile robots.A platform named Quanta-a cost effective,energy efficient and high-speed wireless infrastructure is prototyped as a part of the research in the field of modular *** is capable of controlling and monitoring various events in/using a robot with the help of a light-weight communication protocol independent of the robot hardware architecture(s).

AA2219 Ale Cu alloy is widely used in defence and aerospace applications due to required combination of high strength-to-weight ratio and *** of components used for defence always involves *** though the mechanical properties of the base metal are better,but the alloy suffers from poor mechanical and corrosion properties during fusion *** overcome the problems of fusion welding,friction stir welding(FSW) is recognized as an alternative solid state joining method aimed to improve the mechanical and corrosion *** profile is one of the important variables which affect the performance of the friction stir *** the present work the effect of tool profile on the microstructure and pitting corrosion of AA2219 aluminiumecopper alloy was *** backscattered diffraction results established that the grain size and orientation of weld nugget of triangle profile is finer than that of conical *** scanning calorimetric results show the evidence of precipitate dissolution during *** was found that the microstructure changes,such as grain size and its orientation precipitate dissolution during FSW influence the hardness and corrosion *** corrosion resistance of friction stir welds of AA2219 was found to be better for triangle profile tool compared to conical profile which is attributed to material flow and strengthening precipitate morphology in various *** amount of heat generation during FSW made using triangle profile tool may be the reason for greater dissolution of strengthening precipitates in nugget zone and coarsening in thermo mechanically affected zone(TMAZ) and heat affected zone(HAZ).

We propose theoretically and demonstrate experimentally the generation of light pulses whose polarization varies temporally to cover selected areas of the poincare´sphere with both tunable swirling speed and total duration(1 ps and 10 ps,respectively,in our implementation).The effect relies on the Rabi oscillations of two polariton polarized fields excited by two counter-polarized and delayed *** superposition of the oscillating fields result in the precession of the Stokes vector of the emitted light while polariton lifetime imbalance results in its drift from a circle of controllable radius on the poincare´sphere to a single point at long *** positioning of the initial circle and final point allows to engineer the type of polarization spanning,including a full sweeping of the poincare´*** universality and simplicity of the scheme should allow for the deployment of time-varying full-poincare´polarization fields in a variety of platforms,timescales,and regimes.
