The temperature-dependent effective thermal conductivity of UN-X-UO_(2)(X=Mo,W)nuclear fuel composite was *** the experimental design,the thermal conductivity was calculated using Finite Element Modeling(FEM),and compared with analytical models for 10%,30%,50%,and 70%(in mass)uncoated/coated UN microspheres in a UO2 *** FEM results show an increase in the fuel thermal conductivity as the mass fraction of the UN microspheres increases from 1.2 to 4.6 times the UO2 reference at 2,000 *** results from analytical models agree with the thermal conductivity estimated by *** results also show that Mo and W coatings have similar thermal behaviors,and the coating thickness influences the thermal conductivity of the *** higher weight fractions,the thermal conductivity of the fuel composite at room temperature is substantially influenced by the high thermal conductivity coatings approaching that of ***,the thermal conductivity from FEM was used in the fuel thermal performance evaluation during LWR normal operation to calculate the maximum centerline *** results show a significant decrease in the fuel maximum centerline temperature ranging from−94 K for 10% UN to−414 K for 70%(in mass)UN compared to UO2 under the same operating conditions.

Sesbania virgata（Cav.） *** a pioneer species native to South America able to release allelochemicals that affect germination and development of other plant *** aim of this work was to evaluate the allelopathic effect of *** on the germination and development of co-occurring species from gallery forest and on agronomic *** forest native species,Enterolobium contortisiliquum（Vell.） Morong and Sapindus saponaria L.,and two agronomic species（these as control）,Oryza sativa *** Solanum lycopersicum *** used in the lab and greenhouse assays with seeds and leaf extracts of *** species were more affected than native species when co-germinated with seeds of *** germination percentage and speed germination index of the agronomic species were reduced in both in vitro and greenhouse *** the same assays,the seeds of native species showed no significant differences in the parameters ***,the initial growth of the four species assayed was affected,with reduction in plant length and shoot diameter followed by significant reduction in plantlet shoot and root *** the assays with irrigation of *** leaf extracts,no significant inhibitory effects on germination were observed for all *** and shoot diameter of the native species were not affected by the leaf extracts,nor were fresh and dry ***,these parameters increased in the agronomic species as they were irrigated with leaf *** on our data we conclude that seed leachates of *** affect germination and seedling development of other species,suggesting that its invasive behavior is due mainly to seed *** with less pronounced effects on native species,allelopathy of *** might also influence Interspecific competition in its natural environment.

AIM To investigate the association between 16 insertiondeletions(INDEL) polymorphisms, colorectal cancer(CRC) risk and clinical features in an admixed *** O n e h u n d re d a n d fo r ty p a t i e n t s w i t h C R C a n d 140 cancer-free subjects were examined. Genomic DNA was extracted from peripheral blood samples. Polymorphisms and genomic ancestry distribution were assayed by Multiplex-PCR reaction, separated by capillary electrophoresis on the ABI 3130 Genetic Analyzer instrument and analyzed on Gene Mapper id v3.2. Clinicopathological data were obtained by consulting the patients' clinical charts, intra-operative documentation, and pathology *** Logistic regression analysis showed that polymorphism variations in IL4 gene was associated with increased CRC risk, while TYMS and UCP2 genes were associated with decreased risk. Reference to anatomical localization of tumor Del allele of NFKB1 and CASP8 were associated with more colon related incidents than rectosigmoid. In relation to the INDEL association with tumor node metastasis(TNM) stage risk, the Ins alleles of ACE, HLAG and TP53(6 bp INDEL) were associated with higher TNM stage. Furthermore, regarding INDEL association with relapse risk, the Ins alleles of ACE, HLAG, and UGT1A1 were associated with early relapse risk, as well as the Del allele of TYMS. Regarding INDEL association with death risk before 10 years, the Ins allele of SGSM3 and UGT1A1 were associated with death *** The INDEL variations in ACE, UCP2, TYMS, IL4, NFKB1, CASP8, TP53, HLAG, UGT1A1, and SGSM3 were associated with CRC risk and clinical features in an admixed population. These data suggest that this cancer panel might be useful as a complementary tool for better clinical management, and more studies need to be conducted to confirm these findings.

Introduction. Secondary alterations of executive functions occur in brain injuries together with the primary neuropsychological symptoms, irrespective of the location of the damage and the affected neural networks. Such secondary alterations of executive functions in the presence of language alterations, which is the most frequent primary neuropsychological alteration, in addition to exacerbating the linguistic processing deficit, may be associated to multiple factors inherent to the brain injury or the injured patient. Purpose. To describe the secondary neuropsychological alterations of executive functions in elderly patients with low education levels with acquired language disorders and determine general factors of the injury and of the injured patient (etiology, location, time of recovery from the injury, age, education level), associated to such secondary alterations of the Attentional Control System. Patients and Methods. The study was conducted on 68 elderly patients with a low education level with language acquired disorders, of both sexes, ranging between 60 and 80 years of age. The executive functions explored included cognitive flexibility, impulsivity control and inhibition of irrelevant automatisms, with the Trail Making Test, the Porteus Maze Test and series of loops. Statistical processing involved a Distribution of Frequencies and Multiple Ordinal Regression. Results and Conclusions. The statistical analysis found secondary neuropsychological alterations of the executive functioning in the elderly patients with language disorders of the study that are associated to the location and the time of recovery from the injury and are irrespective of age, education level and etiology of the injury.

In the previous work,we found that the tensile stress occurring around the equator of the ball caused fatigue of the ball *** groups of pre-cracks,whose surface lengths were 140 μm,220μm,550μm and 700μm,were initiated on ball surfaces and the strength of these pre-cracked balls was *** static strengths and fatigue limits of all pre-cracked balls decreased with crack *** concluded that the fatigue caused by a pre-crack located on the equator of the ball surface was important for understanding fatigue of silicon nitride *** the present work,carrying out fatigue tests of pre-cracked balls with 220 μm cracks at three frequencies（5Hz,20 Hz and 35Hz） we found that the frequency had effect on speeds of the crack growths.

In-vitro propagation is a technique that provides a vital solution for the conservation of endangered orchid species. The media used in tissue culture can be modified through the addition of inexpensive organic materials as an alternative to expensive synthetic additives. Some organic sources, such as coconut water and fruit juice, contain significant amounts of vitamins, amino acids, and organic compounds which can act as growth regulators, making these organic sources excellent additives for in-vitro cultivation. The aim of this study was to develop a protocol for in-vitro micropropagation and acclimatization of Epidendrum nocturnum using organic supplements in the growth media and various substrates at the acclimatization stage. Banana powder, coconut water, and potato dextrose were added to a basal seed sowing media and evaluated for seed germination percentage and plantlet growth. In addition, various substrates such as coconut coir, horticultural charcoal, sphagnum moss, and wood bark were evaluated for height, number of leaves, and number of shoots in the acclimatization portion of this study. The culture medium with coconut water showed a greater germination percentage (71.00% and 76.75%) compared with the control (37.50% and 45.50%) at 60 and 90 days after seed sowing, respectively. Media with organic supplements showed greater values of plant length and number of roots compared with the control. The combination of coconut coir and horticultural charcoal was shown to be more efficient than the combination of sphagnum moss, horticultural charcoal, and wood bark, as results showed greater values of plant height and number of leaves at 30, 90, and 120 days after transplantation in acclimatization of E. nocturnum.

This study presents hybrid clones of Corymbia *** by Aperam BioEnergia as potential substitutes for Eucalyptus wood in the pulp *** biomass of Eucalyptus *** compared with that of Corymbia *** performing modified kraft pulping and basic density *** were made by analyzing their respective mean annual increments of cellulose(MAI_(cel))and specific wood consumption(SWC),estimated using a kappa number of(19±1).The results showed that one of the hybrid clones(Corymbia citriodora×Corymbia torelliana,id 4)had higher basic wood density,higher screened yield,better MAI_(cel#k19),and lower SWC than the other samples,reaching values of 0.608 t/m^(3),54.1%,24.6 ADt/ha/year(i.e.,air dry ton/hectare/year),and 2.74 m^(3)/ADt,***,clone id 4 had the highest MAI_(cel)/SWC ratio score(8.98).Given its high forest productivity and low industrial cost compared with other samples,as well as its advantages over Eucalyptus ***,we concluded that clone id 4 has great potential as an alternative biomass for pulp production.
