Herein, we report a simple and effective preparation of ultrafine CNFs （u-CNFs） with high surface area via electrospinning of two immiscible polymers [polyacrylonitrile （PAN） and poly（methyl methacry- late）（PMMA）] followed by calcination at high temperature in an inert atmosphere. Various electrospinning conditions were optimized in detail. Four different kinds of PAN/PMMA ratios （10/0, 7：3, 5：5 and 3：7） were chosen and found that the PAN/PMMA ratio of 3：7 （PAN/PMMA-3：7） is the optimum one. BET anal- ysis showed the specific surface area of the u-CNFs-3：7 was 46Z57 m2/g with an excellent pore volume （1.15 cms g-l） and an average pore size （9.48 nm）： it is about 25 times higher than the conventional CNFs （c-CNFs）. TEM and FE-SEM images confirmed the ultrafine structure of the CNFs with a thinner fiber di- ameter of-50 nm. The graphitic nature and atomic arrangement of the u-CNFs were investigated by Raman and XPS analyses. For the supercapacitor application, unlike the common electrode preparation methods, the u-CNFs-3：7 was used without any activation, chemical or mechanical modifications. The u-CNFs- 3：7 showed a better specific capacitance of 86 Fig in 1 mol/L 1-12S04 when compared to pure CNFs. The excellent physicochemical properties make the u-CNFs-3：7 an alternative choice to the existing CNFs for the supercapacitors.

Herein, we report a new and simple method for the preparation of metallic copper nanospheres- decorated cellulose nanofiber composite （CuNSsJCNFs）. Initially, the cellulose acetate nanofibers （CANFs） were electrospun followed by deacetylation and anionization to produce functional anionic cellulose nanofibers ff-CNFs）. The CuCl2 precursor was deposited on thef-CNFs （CuC12/CNFs） by a simple dipping method. Then the CuCIdCNFs were reduced under vacuum by using aluminum foil to produce the CuNSs/ CNFs. The resultant CuNSs/CNFs composite was characterized by various microscopic and spectroscopic methods. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FT-IR） confirmed the successful functionalization of anionic groups with the CNFs. The field emission scanning electron microscopy （FE-SEM） and transmission electron microscope （TEM） results confirmed the formation of CuNSs on the surface of CNFs. From the scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive spectroscopy （SEM-EDS） analysis, the weight percentage of Cu was found to be 23.5 wt%. The successful reduction of CuO to metallic Cu was confirmed by X-ray photoemission spectroscopy （XPS） and X-ray diffraction （XRD） analyses. Mechanism has been proposed for the formation of metallic Cu sphere on CNFs.

In this study,high-damping and conducting epoxy nanocomposites were developed with carbon nanofibers as conducting materials,and zinc oxide particles as piezoelectric *** mechanical and electrical properties,electrical impedance,and loss factors were investigated by uniaxial tensile tests,voltage measurement,impedance measurement,and 3-point bending *** percolation thresholds were found:the percolation threshold of resistivity due to the carbon nanofibers forming conductive networks in the matrix;and the impedance threshold due to the zinc oxide particles acting like electric barriers.A poling treatment of the high-damping and conducting epoxy nanocomposite was considered,and we found that poling treatment helped to make the networks more conductive and to generate voltage from ZnO particles.A high-damping and conducting epoxy nanocomposite with 3 wt%CNF and 10 wt%ZnO exhibited higher loss factor than those of others tested.

Background: The clinical characteristics of burning mouth syndrome (BMS) are not fully understood. We investigated the profiles of BMS patients, characteristics associated with BMS, and the available treatment methods and their effects. Methods: Seventy-four BMS patients without oral mucosal lesions were enrolled. Their medical history, medications taken, and symptom scores were investigated via questionnaires. Laboratory investigations of parameters potentially associated with BMS were performed. Regarding treatment, 0.01% dexamethasone gargle, amitriptyline, and clonazepam were administered individually or in combination, depending on the degree of symptom improvement. Symptoms were scored from 0 - 10 points;these scores were used to evaluate treatment efficacy and patient satisfaction. Results: Mean age of the patients was 63.6 ± 14.2 years;mean symptom prevalence period was 15.5 ± 24.7 months. BMS was not significantly associated with a history of hypertension, diabetes, or any specific medications. Treatment reduced the symptoms of 85.1% subjects (63/74). Conclusions: Contrary to that in previous studies, we observed significant improvements in BMS patients following combination treatment with dexamethasone gargle, amitriptyline, and clonazepam.

Experimental Study on Flow past A Rotationally Oscillating Cylinder

A series of experiments was carried out to study the flow behaviour behind a rotationally oscillating cylinder at a low Reynolds number （Re=300） placed in a recirculation water channel. A stepper motor was used to rotate the cylinder clockwise- and- counterclockwise about its longitudinal axis at selected frequencies. The particle image velocimetry （PIV） technique was used to capture the flow field behind a rotationally oscillating cylinder. Instantaneous and time-averaged flow fields such as the vorticity contours, streamline topologies and velocity distributions were analyzed. The effects of four rotation angle and frequency ratios Fr （Fr=fn/fv, the ratio of the forcing frequency fn to the natural vortex shedding frequency fv） on the wake in the lee of a rotationally oscillating cylinder were also examined. The significant wake modification was observed when the cylinder undergoes clockwise-and-counterclockwise motion with amplitude of π, especially in the range of 0.6≤Fr≤1.0.

In this paper,the equal-norm multiple-scale Trefftz method combined with the implicit Lie-group scheme is applied to solve the two-dimensional nonlinear sloshing problem with *** considering solving sloshing problems with baffles by using boundary integral methods,degenerate geometry and problems of numerical instability are *** avoid numerical instability,the multiple-scale characteristic lengths are introduced into T-complete basis functions to efficiently govern the high-order oscillation ***,the numerical noise propagation at each time step is eliminated by the vector regularization method and the group-preserving scheme.A weighting factor of the group-preserving scheme is introduced into a linear system and then used in the initial and boundary value problems(IBVPs)at each time *** importantly,the parameters of the algorithm,namely,the T-complete function,dissipation factor,and time step,can obtain a linear *** boundary noise interference and energy conservation are successfully overcome,and the accuracy of the boundary value problem is also ***,benchmark cases are used to verify the correctness of the numerical *** numerical results show that this algorithm is efficient and stable for nonlinear two-dimensional sloshing problems with baffles.
