The tectonic structures of the Mako area in the Kédougou-Kéniéba inlier (KKI) were mapped with tele-analytical investigation which is validated by field data. This study is based on different images processing in particular: span>1) the colored combinations (1 to 5) and panchromatic (8) thematic mapping bands of the Landsat-8 (ETMsup>+sup>) satellite;span>2) Digital Elevation Model (DEM) image of Space Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM);3) airborne geophysics (aeromagnetic and radiometric) images. In these images, four major directions of lineaments NS, NNE-SSW, NW-SE and EW would be related to the tectonic structures, have been identified and mapped. Field data confirm these four structural directions and show that most of these lineaments are related to faults, shear and/or thrust zones, or even basic rock dykes. N-S to NE-SW oriented lineaments are more frequent followed by those NW-SE oriented. These two directions of lineaments are generally in correlation with trajectories of major sinistral shear zones in the Mako area. They would be associated with the Ssub>2asub> and Ssub>2bsub> schistosities relative to the Dsub>2sub> Eburnean major deformation. During the last decade, Jatropha curcas L. (J. curcas) has gained much attention worldwide as biofuel crop. Although its cultivation is promoted in the sahel, there is a surprising lack of data on its water use regulation and growth in this region. Here, we investigated, in semi-controlled conditions, leaf transpiration and growth of six accessions of J. curcas at seedling stage under natural changing in vapour pressure deficit (VPD) and progressive soil drying in senegal. The experimental layout was a randomized complete bloc design and after 3 months of growth arranged to a split-plot at the implementation of water stress to facilitate irrigation. Under well water condition, there was no significant difference between accessions for leave transpiration that was positively correlated to VPD with high values recorded between 13 h and 14 h pm. Accessions of J. curcas used in this study showed closed thresholds at which transpiration declined except accession from Ndawene that threshold was lower (0.30). There is no significant difference between accessions for growth during the experimentation period. In 3 months, we recorded 23.57 g for the aboveground dry biomass and seedlings had about 14 leaves and 24.3 cm height. Positive linear correlation was recorded between aboveground biomass and root dry weight (p J. curcas might need complement irrigation for a better growth of seedlings especially during the dry season.

A Fourier-Chebyshev Petrov-Galerkin spectral method is described for high accuracy computation of linearized dynamics for flow in a circular pipe. The code used here is based on solenoidal velocity variables and is written in FORTRAN. systematic studies are presented of the dependence of eigenval-ues and other quantities on the axial and azimuthal wave numbers;the Reyn-olds’ number of up to 107 and the Weissenberg’s number that is considered lower here. The flow will be considered stable if all the real parts of the ei-genvalues obtained are negative and unstable if only one of these values is positive.

In recent years (2003), senegal has been confronted with many urban flooding problems that have become recurrent due to the configuration of its settlement. This is due to galloping population growth, climate change and a lack of planning and rainwater drainage networks. To fix these phenomena, senegalese government has initiated rainwater drainage programs. In the city of Thiès, particularly in sampathé district, flooding problem is a reality that is observed during every winter period. It is within this framework that we have proposed a project for the design and dimensioning of a rainwater evacuation network in sampathé. The network will be integrated into a Geographic Information system for efficient management of project. This study involved identifying flood zones, determining geotechnical characteristics of the soil, and exploiting rainfall data in order to propose a storm water drainage network that will be integrated into a database management system. Thus, we carried out topographical and geotechnical studies, then designed and dimensioned the drainage network, and finally set up a geographic information system. At the end of this project, we designed a sewerage network consisting of two primary pipelines, four secondary pipelines, one tertiary pipeline, ninety-two manholes and a retention basin. To manage the network, we set up a geographic information system to geolocate various elements for rapid intervention in the field in event of a problem, make requests, generate thematic maps, and perform spatial analyses for good decision-making.

Effects of Preparation’s Parameters on stabilization of sabodala Gold Mine Tailings: Comparison of Fresh and Weathered Materials

The sabodala gold mine tailings were stabilised using geopolymerization technics in order to improve their mechanical properties in general for a reuse as building materials for local communities. The effect of several preparation parameters on the compressive and tensile strength of the stabilised tailings has been studied to define their optimums. For each formulation, all parameters are kept constant and only one is variable. The prepared samples are then tested for compressive and tensile strength to see how the variable parameter impact on these properties. The same work was carried out for the fresh tailings and for the weathered one to see whether they behave differently and if they need different treatment. The results show that for most of parameters, there is an optimal value on either side of which compressive and tensile strength decrease. Except for few parameters, the fresh and the weathered tailings have a similar behaviour with regards to trends of their mechanical properties with changing preparation conditions. In addition to the similarity of weathered and fresh tailings mechanical characteristics following their stabilization by geopolymerization, this work has proved the considerable effects of the preparation’s parameters.

The minority carrier’s recombination velocity at the junction and at the back surface is used for the modeling and determination of the optimum thickness of the base of a silicon solar cell in the static regime, under magnetic field and temperature influence. This study takes into account the Umklapp process and the Lorentz effect on the minority carriers photogenerated in the base.

Introduction: The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is a pandemic of concern to the World Health Organization. It is all the more worrisome because if not properly managed, it can be responsible for several complications, including abnormal blood counts. These abnormalities may also be related to treatment. Objectives: The main objective of this study is to show that adequate antiretroviral therapy can correct various abnormalities exerted by HIV on patients’ blood counts. The specific objective is to determine all the abnormalities we can see in blood count before and during HIV treatment. Materials and Methods: Our study was conducted in the hematology laboratory and the dermatology departments of the Aristide Le Dantec Hospital and the Institute of social Hygiene. It took place from December 2009 to October 2011. It is a retrospective descriptive and analytical study involving HIV-positive patients (HIV 1 and 2) and under antiretroviral treatment (at least six months of treatment). We included 110 patients in the study. Blood counts were performed at the hematology laboratory of the Aristide le Dantec hospital using a KX21 automaton. Each patient received three blood counts during the first six months of treatment (M0, M3 and M6). A univariate analysis was performed to determine the profile of the abnormalities of the blood count and the chi 2 test was used and a threshold of p 0.05 was considered significant. Results: The mean age of the patients was 38.6 ± 8.6 years (extremes of 18 and 64 years) with a sex ratio of 0.42 (77 females and 33 males). The prevalence of anemia was 80% (n = 88) at M0, 53, 63% at M3 (n = 59), and 38.20% at M6 (n = 42) (p = 0.02). We noted a favorable evolution with treatment. For the other abnormalities, the evolution was favorable for leukopenia (p = 0.011) and thrombocytopenia (p = 0.007). Conclusion: Our study showed a correction of blood count abnormalities in PLHIV with antiretroviral treatment.

Influence of Beverage Consumption Made from Baobab Pulp (<i>Adansonia digitata L.</i>) on Postprandial Glycemia in Côte d’Ivoire

The study’s aim was to assess the consumption influence of beverages from baobab pulp on postprandial blood sugar in Côte d’Ivoire. Thus, a consumer survey of baobab juice was carried out in the city of Abidjan. Beverages from baobab pulp collected in four localities of Côte d’Ivoire (Man, Boundiali, Bouake and Abidjan) were prepared. These beverages were consumed by 15 subjects over a period of 9 days to determine their glycemic index (GI), glycemic load (GL) and postprandial blood sugar. During the survey, baobab juice’s consumers’ respondents were composed more of females (53.3%) than males (46.7%). Baobab juice is generally consumed in the afternoon by 35% of respondents twice a week (34.5%). Among the preferred juices sold in Abidjan markets, baobab juice is ranked second by children (21.4%) and fourth by adults (13.4%). The results of the glycemic index (GI) and glycemic load (GL) showed that beverages made from baobab pulp with sugar from Abidjan had high glycemic index and glycemic load. On the other hand, beverages made from baobab pulp with sugar from three other localities showed medium values of GI and GL. However, the GI and GL of the baobab pulps without sugar of four localities are low. The objective of this study was to describe Thrombotic manifestations and therapeutic management during HIV infection and tuberculosis in a 19-year-old male student. The objective of this study was to describe Thrombotic manifestations and therapeutic management during HIV infection and tuberculosis in a 19-year-old student. Observation: It is Mr. s. C., aged 19, admitted for pain and swelling of the right lower limb, physical asthenia and notion of fever. Evolution 5 days, with no particular history of cardiovascular disease, anti-retroviral treatment for 1 year and anti-tuberculosis treatment for 3 months. On clinical examination heart sounds are irregular with a heart rate at 115 bpm, blood pressure at 110/70 mmhg. A febrile red painful swelling at right lower limb with positive Homans sign. 0°C (Temperature 37.7°C), Weight at 58 Kg. The rest of the clinical examination is without particularity. Venous Doppler echo of the lower limbs: shows the presence of acute deep vein thrombosis of the right lateral vein. Mr. s. C. to benefit the following Medical Treatment: lovenox 0.6 UI subcutaneously morning and evening, sintrom 4 mg 1 comprimed at night, Tramadol 50 mg morning and evening;with a good clinical evolution. CONCLUsION: TB and HIV are chronic infections that result in widespread inflammation predisposing patients to a MTVE (Venous thromboembolic disease) table as well as rifampicin and anti-proteases.

In this study, the effects of temperature and frequency on minority carrier diffusion coefficient in silicon solar cell under a magnetic field are presented. Using two methods (analytic and graphical), the optimum temperature corresponding to maximum diffusion coefficient is determined versus cyclotronic frequency and magnetic field.
