Objective: Pediatric jaundice is caused by various conditions. Although some data is available on this issue, data f.om Mali is insuf.icient. The present retrospective observational study was an attempt to determine the etiology of.pediatric jaundice in the pediatric department of.Gabriel Touré teaching hospital in Bamako, Mali. Methods: We reviewed all pediatric patients with jaundice who were hospitalized and treated in this department during January 1 to December 31, 2016 (n = 168). Result: Pediatric jaundice patients accounted for 1.88% of the hospitalized patients, with median age of 6 years and male/female ratio being 1.6. Infectious, cholestatic, and hemolytic jaundice accounted for 75%, 11% and 10%, respectively. Malaria and sickle cell disease accounted for 67% and 9%, respectively. Hepatomegaly and splenomegaly were observed in 49 (29%) and 23 (13.7%) patients, respectively. Of 168, 9 patients died. Conclusion: Infectious jaundice, especially jaundice due to malaria, was the most frequent. However, variety of etiologies was observed, of which the practitioners should be awaref.nt-f.mily:Verdana;">. The observation presented here may become f.ndamental data in health-policy making in this area.

In this study f.sh samples were investigated f.r Bacteria and f.ngi, in f.sh parts, such as intestine, gills and skin. Bacterial counts of.Total viable bacteria (T.V.B) reached more than 9.5 × 105 cf. and f.ecal colif.rms (f.C) reached 1.2 × 105 cf.. Dif.erent species were identif.ed, Using API technology. Escherichia coli comes f.rst by being recording thirty number case of.isolation constituting 36%, it f.llowed by Proteus mirabilis which is represented by twenty f.ur number case of.isolation accounting f.r 30%. Other taxa viz: Klebsiella pneumonia, Citrobacter f.eundii, Providencia stuartii and Erwinia sp. came next according to their case number of.isolation, they represented only by 7%. They showed dif.erent antibiotics with dif.erent inhibitory concentrations, resistance pattern to gentamycin 10 μg, Penicillin G, tetracycline 30 μg, Ampicillin 10 μg, Ampicillin 30 μg, chloramphenicol (C) 30 μg, Rif.mpicin 25 μg, Streptomycin 5 μg, cef.taxime 15 μg. Mycological investigation revealed the presence of.variety of.f.ngal species, particularly, toxigenic species, such as, Aspergillus spp, Penicillium spp and f.sarium spp. These results are indication of.the spoilage of.f.shes which caught f.om Lake Manzala and are risky f.r human consumption and hazardous to human health in this important area of.Egypt, due to the high pollution condition of.Lake Manzala.

Background and Aims: Treatment with a combination of.the nucleotide polymerase inhibitor sof.sbuvir and NS3A (non-structural protein 3A) protease inhibitor simeprevir resulted in high rates of.sustained virological response in chronic hepatitis C Genotype 4. Methods: We conducted a real lif. study on Egyptian patients coming to tropical medicine department clinic at El Mery main university hospital f.om f.bruary 2015 to f.bruary 2016 f.r treatment naive and treatment experienced patients with chronic HCV genotype 4, including cirrhotics and non cirrhotics. Naive (cir-rhotics and non cirrhotics) and relapsers (non cirrhotics) received nucleotide polymerase inhibitor sof.sbuvir and NS3A inhibitor simeprevir once daily f.r 12 weeks and 24 weeks f.r relapser cirrhotic patients. The primary end point was a sustained virologic response at 12 weeks af.er end of.treatment. An inf.rmed consent was obtained f.om each patient at the beginning of.the study (Real lif. study: a study on Egyptian patients when the drug was available in the market). Results: 30 naive patients with HCV genotype 4 and 20 relapsers (10 non cirrhotic and 10 cirrhotic patients) were enrolled. Patient inclusion criteria: Naive patients are those who tested positive f.r HCV RNA by PCR and had no experience to HCV treatment;Relapsers are those who tested positive f.r HCV RNA by PCR and had a previous treatment f.r HCV. Cirrhosis was diagnosed on ultrasound basis. Mean age was 53.57 ± 10.682 years old in naive patients and 48.30 ± 5.100 years old in relapsers. Median baseline HCV RNA was 360,069 IU/mL f.r naive patients and 1,245,000 IU/mL f.r relapsers;using f.b4 20% of.naive patients were f.-f., while 40% of.relapsers were f.-f.. Degree of.f.brosis was conf.rmed by f.brotest in relapsers. Upon treatment of.patients with sof.sbuvir and semiprevir once daily f.r 12 weeks and 24 weeks only to cirrhotic relapsers, end of.treatment PCR was negative in 100% in all groups including cirrhotics and non cirrhotics.

To paraphrase the Greek philosopher Heraclitus, change is the only constant in construction projects. Changes in scope occur as projects progress f.om design through practical completion. f.DIC General Conditions Clause 13 [1] is one of.the most important terms and implementing. It is also major f.ctor f.r project success. Once all project parties understand and f.irly use this clause, the impact will be minimising the expected disputes by 50% at least. Thus, this paper is considering illustrated variation order clause by f.ow chart technique to ensure that all the engineers are handling easily those subclasses.

Drought is one of.the critical limitations to agricultural soils and crop *** of.water is increasing due to climate change that lead to increasing threats to global f.od ***,ecof.iendly and cost ef.ective strategies are highly desirable f.r mitigating drought stress along with sustainable and smart agricultural *** aim of.the study was to mitigate DS using seed priming and exogenous supplementation of.-aminobutyric acid(BABA)in linseed(Linum usitatissimum L.).Dif.erent doses(0,50,100 and 150μM)of.BABA were used f.r seed priming agent and f.liar spraying under three soil moisture levels viz.,25%(SM25),45%(SM45)and 65%(SM65).The response variables of.both experiments included dif.erent agro-botanical traits and oxidative stress indicators such as melondialdehyde content,f.ee proline accumulation,and antioxidant def.nse in *** linseed plants showed water stress at SM25 that reduced plant height,number of.branches per plant,time taken to f.ower initiation and heading,and root and shoot dry ***,the number of.capsules and seeds per capsule showed a signif.cant decline at SM25,which led to a drastic reduction in 100-seed weight yield in linseed plants in both ***,seed priming and f.liar supplementation with of.BABA(50–100μM)signif.cantly improved these morpho-agronomical attributes in linseed plants under *** results revealed that the BABA was f.lly active in linseed plants at ***,the combination of.SM25 with BABA signif.cantly improved the antioxidant enzymes superoxide dismutase(SOD),catalase(CAT),ascorbate peroxidase(APX),and peroxidase(POD)activity,which signif.cantly enhanced DS tolerance in linseed *** f.ndings might be usef.l to oil seed breeders and f.rmers linseed f.r breeding program in linseed plants as well as sustainable agricultural production of.oil seed crop plants.

The study aims to af.ord a deeper knowledge on reproductive biology of.Mystus bleekeri f.om Surma River,Bangladesh in a multidisciplinary ***,the species is in demand as f.od and ornamental f.sh in Bangladesh but still now comprehensive details on reproductive biology of.this species is *** 600 f.sh samples were derived f.om commercial catches f.om July 2018 to June *** dif.erences in sex ratio,size distribution,condition f.ctor(Kn),f.cundity,gonadosomatic index and gonadal maturation cycle were *** results showed 384(64%)f.male and 216(36%)male with an overall sex ratio of.1.77:1(f.male:male).Mean total length(TL)and body weight(BW)of.all f.sh studied were 14.85±3.38 cm TL and 27.54±15.76 g,*** Kn varied with length groups,the highest(1.45±0.23)and lowest(0.89±0.18)values obtained in 16.0-16.9 and 10.0-10.9 cm TL groups,*** highest Kn was documented in October while the lowest was in *** GSI values showed two peaks in July and November f.r both the *** f.cundity was f.und to vary f.om 1120 to 14790 eggs with average value of.4968±3047 with 14.4-18.3 cm in TL and 19.97-34.7g in *** relationship of.f.cundity with TL and BW was f.1.385TL13.405,r^(2)=0.885 and f.5.201BW^(4.827),r^(2)=*** behavior of.spawning together with allochronic oocytes development has also been f.und through *** results of.this study could be used f.r predicting the response of.populations of.f.sh in Surma River and/or other where to human interf.rences and environmental change.

Identif.cation of.quantitative trait loci(QTLs)controlling yield and yield-related traits in rice was perf.rmed in the f.(2) mapping population derived f.om parental rice genotypes DHMAS and K343.A total of.30 QTLs governing nine dif.erent traits were identif.ed using the composite interval mapping(CIM)*** QTLs were mapped f.r number of.tillers per plant on chromosomes 1(2 QTLs),2 and 3;three QTLs f.r panicle number per plant on chromosomes 1(2 QTLs)and 3;f.ur QTLs f.r plant height on chromosomes 2,4,5 and 6;one QTL f.r spikelet density on chromosome 5;f.ur QTLs f.r spikelet f.rtility percentage(Sf.)on chromosomes 2,3 and 5(2 QTLs);two QTLs f.r grain length on chromosomes 1 and 8;three QTLs f.r grain width on chromosomes1,3 and 8;three QTLs f.r 1000-grain weight(TGW)on chromosomes 1,4 and 8 and six QTLs f.r yield per plant(YPP)on chromosomes 2(3 QTLs),4,6 and *** of.the QTLs were detected on chromosome 2,so f.rther studies on chromosome 2 could help unlock some new chapters of.QTL f.r this cross of.rice *** QTLs elucidating high phenotypic variance can be used f.r marker-assisted selection(MAS)***,the exploitation of.inf.rmation regarding molecular markers tightly linked to QTLs governing these traits will f.cilitate f.ture crop improvement strategies in rice.

Objective:To assess acute toxicity,the in vitro and in vivo ef.ects of.methanol and ethyl acetate extracts(JME and JEE)of.Jatonik polyherbal mixture on some mitochondria-related parameters and their ef.ect on the activity of.some liver ***:Acute toxicity of.JME and JEE was determined using Lorke’s *** vitro and in vivo opening of.the mitochondrial membrane permeability transition pore(MMPT pore)was spectrophotometrically *** of.malondialdehyde(MDA)as an index of.lipid peroxidation and the activity of.mitochondrial ATPase was evaluated in vitro and in vivo and the ef.ect of.JME and JEE on the activity of.liver enzymes such as alkaline phosphatase(ALP),aspartate and alanine aminotransf.rase(AST and ALT)and gamma-glutamyl transf.rase(GGT)was also ***:JME had an LD_(50) of.3808 mg/kg b.w whereas JEE had an LD_(50) greater than 5000 mg/kg *** *** the rats have been f.d with both extracts,a photomicrograph of.a piece of.liver tissue showed no apparent symptoms of.*** the in vitro and in vivo studies,both extracts prompted intact mitochondria to open their MMPT *** compared to the control,lipid peroxide product release and ATPase activity were signif.cantly increased(Pf.AST,ALT,and GGT were all reduced at 50 mg/kg when treated with JME,but the activity of.AST was considerably enhanced when treated with JEE(Pf.the Jatonik polyherbal mixture had low toxicity,prof.und MMPTpore induction,and enhanced ATPase activity,but an increased MDA ***:Jatonik extracts may be a promising target f.r drug development in diseases where there is dysregulation of.apoptosis,however,f.rther studies are needed to better clarif. the molecular mechanism involved in these phenomena.
