Molecular characterization of yolk proteins in the female crab Neptunus pelagicus(***-Edwards,1861) from the Mediterranean Sea of Alexandria,Egypt

This study aimed to characterize the morphological changes in the ovary of the female crab Neptunus pelagicus and to identify specific fractions of vitelloginin and vitelline molecules during primary and secondary *** of the blue crab were collected from the Mediterranean Sea of Alexandria monthly during *** and oocytes in primary and secondary vitellogenesis were detached and treated for histological *** polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis(PAGE)Bis-Tris Gels was applied to identify vitelloginin(VN)and vitelline(VL)*** Analyses were done by *** initial degenerate primers were built regarding the conserved amino acid domains of the yolk *** and secondary vitellogeneses consisted of 8 *** fraction with molecular weight 550 kDa was identified in the hemolymph in secondary *** protein fractions(VLI&VLII)were identified in secondary vitellogenic *** electrophoresis performed with extract of stage I oocyte showed two protein fractions with molecular weights 550 kDa and 460 *** stage II and III oocyte,4 subunits were presented of 180,195,140 and 120 kDa in VLI and 2 subunits with molecular weight of 110 kDa and 95 kDa in *** two fractions in stage V oocyte presented with molecular weights of 380 kDa and 360 *** blot analysis proved that both fractions were of four major polypeptide subunits with molecular weight of 180,125,90 and 85 kDa in each of the two *** hybridization signal obtained by the Northern blot was detected in the hepatopancreas during ovarian cycle and in the ovary during secondary *** result of the reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)analysis showed that the mRNA that encodes the C-terminal region of the VN cDNA was found in the ovary in secondary vitellogenesis and in the hepatopancreas.

A numerical investigation into the effect of altering compression ratio, injection timing, and injection duration on the performance of a diesel engine fuelled with diesel-biodiesel-butanol blend

Using renewable fuels for diesel engines can reduce both air pollution and dependence on fossil fuels.A computer simulation was constructed to predict the performance,combustion characteristics,and NOx emissions of a diesel engine fuelled with diesel-biodiesel-butanol *** simulation was validated by comparing the modelling results against experimental data and a good agreement between the results was *** fuels used for the validation were diesel(B0),biodiesel(B100),diesel-biodiesel blend(B50),and two diesel-biodiesel-butanol blends with 45%diesel-45%biodiesel-10%butanol(Bu10)and 40%diesel-40%biodiesel-20%butanol(Bu20)by *** results showed that the addition of butanol reduced NOx emissions but deteriorated the engine *** aim of the current work was the numerical optimization of the different parameters to enhance the engine performance while using butanol to decrease NOx *** engine compression ratio(CR)varied from 14 to 24,in increments of *** injection timing(IT)was reduced from 30°before top dead centre(bTDC)to 5°bTDC in increments of 5°.Also,the fuel injection duration(IDur)was extended from 20°to 50°in increments of 10°.Results showed that the increase in the CR improved engine performance for the two investigated fuels,Bu10 and *** maximum engine brake power(BP),thermal efficiency(BTE),and minimum brake-specific fuel consumption(BSFC)of 1.46 kW,32.3%,and 0.273 kg/kWh respectively,were obtained when the Bu10 fuel was injected under the optimum conditions of 24 CR,15°bTDC IT,and 40°*** these optimum conditions,the BP,BTE,and BSFC improved by 3%-3.5%for Bu10 and Bu20 fuel blends compared with the base engine conditions of a CR of 22,30°IDur,and 10°bTDC *** heat release rate during the premixed phase increased when the IT was advanced,while the mixing-controlled combustion phase was enhanced when the IT was *** emissions increased with increasing CR,while both an increase in IDur at con

COVID-19 and Unemployment: A Novel Bi-Level Optimal Control Model

Since COVID-19 was declared as a pandemic in March 2020,the world’s major preoccupation has been to curb it while preserving the economy and reducing *** paper uses a novel Bi-Level Dynamic Optimal Control model(BLDOC)to coordinate control between COVID-19 and *** COVID-19 model is the upper level while the unemployment model is the lower level of the bi-level dynamic optimal control *** BLDOC model’s main objectives are to minimize the number of individuals infected with COVID-19 and to minimize the unemployed individuals,and at the same time minimizing the cost of the containment *** use the modified approximation Karush–Kuhn–Tucker(KKT)conditions with the Hamiltonian function to handle the bi-level dynamic optimal control *** consider three control variables:The first control variable relates to government measures to curb the COVID-19 pandemic,i.e.,quarantine,social distancing,and personal protection;and the other two control variables relate to government interventions to reduce the unemployment rate,i.e.,employment,making individuals qualified,creating new jobs reviving the economy,reducing *** investigate four different cases to verify the effect of control *** results indicate that rather than focusing exclusively on only one problem,we need a balanced trade-off between controlling each.

Analysis of stiffness and flexural strength of a reinforced concrete beam using an invented reinforcement system

In this study,we conducted experimental tests on two specimens of reinforced concrete beams using a three-point bending test to optimize the flexure and stiffness *** first specimen is a reinforced concrete beam with an ordinary reinforcement,and the second specimen has an invented reinforcement system that consists of an ordinary reinforcement in addition to three additional bracings using steel bars and steel *** results of the flexure test were collected and analyzed,and the flexural strength,the rate of damage during bending,and the stiffness were *** element modeling was applied for both specimens using the LS-DYNA program,and the simulation results of the flexure test for the same outputs were *** results of the experimental tests showed that the flexural strength of the invented reinforcement system was significantly enhanced by 15.5%compared to the ordinary ***,the flexural cracks decreased to a significant extent,manifesting extremely small and narrow cracks in the flexure spread along the bottom face of the *** addition,the maximum deflection for the invented reinforced concrete beam decreased to 1/3 compared to that of an ordinary reinforced concrete *** results were verified through numerical simulations,which demonstrated excellent similarities between the flexural failure and the stiffness of the *** invented reinforcement system exhibited a high capability in boosting the flexure design and stiffness.

Determining short chain fatty acids in sewage sludge hydrolysate: A comparison of three analytical methods and investigation of sample storage effects

In anaerobic digestion, the production of short-chain fatty acids （SCFAs） can be beneficial or harmful to the overall process, depending on the concentration of accumulated acids. Therefore, the accurate determination of the SCFA concentration in both fresh and stored sludge hydrolysates is important. To select a suitable method for monitoring SCFAs during the anaerobic digestion of sewage sludge, the accuracy of three available analytical methods, including 5 pH point acid titration （TITRA5）, gas chromatography （GC）, and spectrophotometry, were compared in the present study. The results revealed that TITRA5 and GC displayed better agreement in the achieved measurements and higher precision and accuracy than the spectrophotometric assay, as supported by the application of different statistical models. TITRA5 excelled in titrating unfiltered hydrolysate while simultaneously measuring the alkalinity, whereas the GC method provided detailed information on the contribution of different fatty acids to the total acidity. In contrast, the spectrophotometric assay suffered from many forms of interference, depending on the sample＇s matrix. SCFA production followed the pattern of enzymatic reactions and fitted the Michaelis-Menten model. In addition to promoting TITRA5 as an accurate and robust analytical tool for routine SCFA analyses, this comparative study also demonstrated the possibility of storing hydrolysate samples at different temperatures and durations without altering the SCFA measurements.

This review article provides a new insight on the application of cerium oxide(CeO_(2))-metal oxide nanocomposites as catalyst with enhanced reducibility and improved oxygen(O_(2))storage capacity,especially in the varying chemical reaction processes including combustion,oxidation,epoxidation and *** CeO_(2)-metal oxide interaction plays an important role in controlling particle size,O_(2) availability and coke resistance properties of the *** metal oxide-CeO_(2) interaction also assists in generating small and highly dispersed particles,resists sintering of catalyst particles during the catalysis process,and consequently improves the O_(2) availability of the ***,CeO_(2) not only provides an active support to heterogeneous catalyst,but also creates a new active site at the metal-support interface to produce stronger nanoparticle bonding through the surface O_(2) *** consequently produces a heterogeneous catalytic system with promising reaction rate and catalytic stability in many industrial applications such as CO_(2) hydrogenation,CO oxidatio n,biodiesel productio n,gas reduction,photocatalytic and methane steam reforming.

Recently,computer assisted diagnosis(CAD)model creation has become more dependent on medical picture *** is often used to identify several conditions,including brain disorders,diabetic retinopathy,and skin *** traditional CAD methods relied on textures,colours,and *** many models are issue-oriented,they need a more substantial capacity to generalize and cannot capture high-level problem domain *** deep learning(DL)models have been published,providing a practical way to develop models specifically for classifying input medical *** paper offers an intelligent beetle antenna search(IBAS-DTL)method for classifying medical images facilitated by deep transfer *** IBAS-DTL model aims to recognize and classify medical pictures into various *** order to segment medical pictures,the current IBASDTLM model first develops an entropy based weighting and first-order cumulative moment(EWFCM)***,the DenseNet-121 techniquewas used as a module for extracting *** an extreme learning machine(ELM)model is used to classify the medical photos.A wide variety of tests were carried out using a benchmark medical imaging dataset to demonstrate the IBAS-DTL model’s noteworthy *** results gained indicated the IBAS-DTL model’s superiority over its pre-existing techniques.

Effect of surfactant on the dielectric and electrorheological properties of zinc borate/silicone oil dispersions

Zinc borate(ZB)particles dispersed in silicone oil(SO)at concentrations of φ=5vol%-20vol% were subjected to dielectric analysis to elucidate their polarization strength,time,and *** revealed that all virgin dispersions lacked *** X-100,a non-ionic surfactant,was added to ZB/SO dispersions to enhance the polarizability of ZB *** addition of 1vol% Triton X-100 enhanced the polarizability of ZB/SO dispersions,and the 15vol% ZB/SO system provided the highest dielectric difference Δε′(the difference in ε′values at zero and infinite frequency,Δε′=ε0–ε∝)of *** electrorheological(ER)activities of the ZB/SO/Triton-X dispersion system were determined through the ER response test,and viscoelastic behaviors were investigated via oscillation tests.A recoverable deformation of 36% under an applied electrical field strength of 1.5 kV/mm was detected through creep and creep recovery tests.
