Medical image segmentation has consistently been a significant topic of research and a prominent goal,particularly in computer *** tumor research plays a major role in medical imaging applications by providing a tremendous amount of anatomical and functional knowledge that enhances and allows easy diagnosis and disease therapy *** prevent or minimize manual segmentation error,automated tumor segmentation,and detection became the most demanding process for radiologists and physicians as the tumor often has complex *** methods for detection and segmentation presently exist,but all lack high *** paper’s key contribution focuses on evaluating machine learning techniques that are supposed to reduce the effect of frequently found issues in brain tumor ***,attention concentrated on the challenges related to level set *** study proposed in this paper uses the Population-based Artificial Bee Colony Clustering(P-ABCC)methodology to reliably collect initial contour points,which helps minimize the number of iterations and segmentation errors of the level-set *** proposed model measures cluster centroids(ABC populations)and uses a level-set approach to resolve contour differences as brain tumors vary as they have irregular form,structure,and *** suggested model comprises of three major steps:first,pre-processing to separate the brain from the head and improves contrast ***,P-ABCC is used to obtain tumor edges that are utilized as an initial MRI sequence *** level-set segmentation is then used to detect tumor regions from all volume slices with fewer *** suggest improved model efficiency compared to state-of-the-art methods for both datasets BRATS 2019 and BRATS *** BRATS 2019,dice progress was achieved for Entire Tumor(WT),Tumor Center(TC),and Improved Tumor(ET)by 0.03%,0.03%,and 0.01%*** BRATS 2017,an increase in precision for WT was reac

Using Neural Networks to Predict Secondary Structure for Protein Folding

Protein Secondary Structure Prediction (PSSP) is considered as one of the major challenging tasks in bioinformatics, so many solutions have been proposed to solve that problem via trying to achieve more accurate prediction results. The goal of this paper is to develop and implement an intelligent based system to predict secondary structure of a protein from its primary amino acid sequence by using five models of Neural Network (NN). These models are Feed Forward Neural Network (FNN), Learning Vector Quantization (LVQ), Probabilistic Neural Network (PNN), Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), and CNN Fine Tuning for PSSP. To evaluate our approaches two datasets have been used. The first one contains 114 protein samples, and the second one contains 1845 protein samples.

Outcomes of staged hepatectomies for liver malignancy

Liver malignancies are the fifth most common cause of death *** intervention with curative intent is the treatment of choice for liver tumors as it provides long-term ***,only 20%of patients with metastatic liver lesions can be managed by curative liver *** most of the cases,hepatectomy is not feasible because of insufficient future liver remnant(FLR).Two-stage hepatectomy is advocated to achieve liver resection in a patient who is considered to not be a candidate for *** of staged hepatectomy include conventional two-stage hepatectomy,portal vein embolization,and associating liver partition and portal vein ligation for a staged *** success is high for each of these procedures but variable between *** the procedures have been reported as being effective in achieving a satisfactory FLR and completing the second-stage ***,the overall survival and disease-free survival rates have improved significantly for patients who were otherwise considered nonresectable;yet,an increase in the morbidity and mortality rates has been *** suggest that this type of procedure should be carried out in high-flow centers and through a multidisciplinary *** experienced surgeon is key to the success of those interventions.

Natural Walls of Anatolia: formation and development of Diş Kayalıkları as a structural landform (Sivas, Türkiye)

The Diş Kayalıkları is one of the largest and most striking examples of crests in the world and is located between Eskidere and Boğazören villages of the İmranlı district of the Sivas province in Turkey. The crests, which resemble castle walls when viewed from afar, have a real wall pattern due to the right-angled crack system of the bedrock when viewed closely. This study aims at investigating the geomorphological features of the Diş Kayalıkları and determining how the geological and geomorphological evolution of the Diş Kayalıkları took place and how the current formation mechanism continues. In the region, the mid-latitude continental climate prevails with cold humid winters and warm dry summers. The bedrock consists of Miocene bedded deposits of different resistance, folded by young tectonic movements. Diş Kayalıkları was formed by selective erosion of less resistant terrain around a pack of resistant rock on the steeper southern slope of an asymmetrical anticline. It has a length of 4750 m in the approximately northwest-southeast direction, a maximum height of 30 m, and a width varying between 5 and 8 m. In the present morphological appearance of the Diş Kayalıkları, it can be stated that the structure formed after the tectonic formation process was eroded under the control of the local climate and crest formation was realized. In the following process, the crest experienced a polycyclic process where different landforms were formed. There are smaller landforms such as karren, cave and rock window on Diş Kayalıkları, and macrofossil beds in some places. This highly attractive geomorphosite, unknown to wider public, should be investigated from various scientific aspects and should be brought to regional tourism by making the necessary infrastructure and promotion studies.

Petrography, Geochemistry and Petrogensis of Basal Flow from Ar-Rabba Area, Central Jordan

Thirty basaltic rock samples collected from a central Jordan at Ar-Rabba area were studied. The samples cover about 20 km2 from the Al-Rabba basalt flow. The Al-Rabba Basalt (RB) introduced Miocene to Pleistocene period. Petrography, Geochemistry and Petrogenesis investigations were carried out for the RB. The petrography analyses of the RB rocks are composed of plagioclase, pyroxene, olivine, opaque minerals (magnetite), and including secondary minerals calcite, iddingsite, and clay. The RB rocks have low range of major and trace elements concentrations, and under sodic alkaline magma series. The geochemical analysis data of RB indicated that RB was derived from a slightly fractionation magma as reflected by high MgO concentration range between (5.4 to 11.7 wt%), and Mg number from 42 to 63.8, and high concentration Cr (18 - 385 ppm), Ni (160 - 364 ppm) and low silica content ( 41.79 - 49.87 wt%). The chemical classification of RB is divided into basaltic, calc-alkaline to alkali basalt. The tectonic setting of RB is explained by using discrimination diagrams, Ti-Zr-Y, Ti-Zr-Sr and MgO-FeO(tot)-Al2O3, the RB plotted within the plate, calc-alkali and continental basalt respectively. The Rayleigh fractionation equation modeled for Sr and Ba vector diagram indicated the RB had fractionation for clinopyroxene, orthpyro-xene, olivine and trace of plagioclase.

Immediate and delayed micro-tensile bond strength of different luting resin cements to different regional dentin

We sought to evaluate immediate and delayed micro-tensile bond strength of Panavia F2.0 and Multilink Sprint resin cement to superficial, deep and cervical dentin. Thirty-six freshly extracted non-carious human molars were sectioned in the mesiodistal direction to expose three different dentin regions including superficial dentin （1 mm below the dentine-enamel junction）, deep dentin （1 mm above the highest pulp horn） and cervical dentin （0.5 mm above the cemento-enamel junction and 0.5 mm below the dentine-enamel junction）. Resin cements were applied on dentin surfaces and composite blocks were luted under constant seating pressure. Each group was divided into three subgroups according to time intervals. Specimens were sectioned to obtain sticks of 1 mm2 in diameter and subjected to microtensile bond strength testing at a cross head speed of 1 mrn/min. Both resin cements showed higher micro-tensile bond strength to superficial dentin than that to deep or cervical dentin （P 〈 0.001）. Micro-ten- sile bond strengths of Panavia F2.0 were higher than those of Multilink Sprint at different dentin regions （P 〈 0.001）. Immediate ＂micro-tensile bond strengths were higher than those of delayed micro-tensile bond strengths for both resin cements （P 〈 0.001）. It was concluded that resin cements with different chemical formulations and applications yield significantly different micro-tensile bond strengths to different dentin regions.

Climate change impact and adaptation on wheat yield, water use and water use efficiency at North Nile Delta

Investigation of climate change impacts on food security has become a global hot *** so,efforts to mitigate these issues in arid regions have been ***,in this paper,further research is discussed based on data obtained from various crop and climate *** DSSATcrop models(CMs)(CERESWheat and N-Wheat)were calibrated with two wheat cultivars(Gemiza9 and Misr1).A baseline simulation(1981-2010)was compared with different scenarios of simulations using three Global Climate Models(GCMs)for the 2030s,2050s and *** impacts of climate change were assessed using the GCMs and CMs under the high emission Representative Concentration Pathway(RCP8.5).Results predicted decreased wheat grain yields by a mean of 8.7%,11.4%and 13.2%in the 2030s,2050s and 2080s,respectively,relative to the baseline *** impacts of climatic change are probable,despite some uncertainties within the GCMs(i.e.,2.1%,5.0%and 8.0%)and CMs(i.e.,2.2%,6.0%and 9.2%).Changing the planting date with a scenario of plus or minus 5 or 10 days from the common practice was assessed as a potentially effective adaptation option,which may partially offset the negative impacts of climate *** the sowing date by 10 days(from 20 November to 30 November)proved the optimum scenario and decreased further reduction in wheat yields resulting from climate change to 5.2%,6.8%and 8.5%in the 2030s,2050s and 2080s,respectively,compared with the 20 November *** planting 5-days earlier scenario showed a decreased impact on climate change ***,the 10-days early planting scenario increased yield reduction under projected climate *** cultivar Misr1 was more resistant to rising temperature than *** the negative impacts of projected climate change on wheat production,water use efficiency would slightly *** ensemble of multi-model estimated impacts and adaptation uncertainties of climate change can assist decision-makers in planning clima

Cryopreservation of cattle semen using coconut water extender with different glycerol concentrations

Objective:To investigate the effect of coconut water with a lone concentration and different concentrations of glycerol on chilled and cryopreserved cattle semen ***: Semen was collected from five mature cattle bulls, at weekly intervals for 5 weeks. The ejaculates were pooled and evaluated for dilution processing. Tris citrate egg yolk fructose was used as control treatment for semen, while 50% (V/V) coconut water, 25% (V/V) bi-distilled water and 25% (V/V, 5% anhydrous monosodium citrate) to 20 mL egg yolk and three different concentrations of glycerol (4%, 6% and 8%) were used as coconut water (CW)-glycerol-yolk extenders (CWCG-4, CWCG-6 and CWCG-8). Extended semen was cooled and cryopreserved. Sperm motility%, sperm membrane integrity%, normal acrosome%, live sperm% and total sperm abnormalities% were recorded after equilibrium and after ***:The addition of 4% glycerol to coconut water enriched media (CWCG-4) revealed the most effective addition of glycerol on all parameters after equilibrium and after ***:Coconut water enriched media with 4% glycerol addition is safe to be used as an extender in bull semen preservation because it is a sterile liquid. So, it can be used without addition of antibiotics to the extender, as antibiotics have to some extent hazardous effect on spermatozoa.
