Detection of a.Rea. Time Remote Sensing Indices a.d Soil Moisture for Drought Monitoring a.d a.sessment in Jorda.

Drought monitoring represents a.cha.lenge for wa.er a.d a.ricultura. sector a. this na.ura. ha.a.d a.celera.es wa.er deficiency a.d lea.s to a.verse environmenta. a.d socioeconomic impa.ts. The use of remote sensing da.a.a.d geospa.ia. techniques to monitor a.d ma. drought severity expa.ded in the la.t deca.es with progressive developments in da.a.sources a.d processing. This study investiga.es the correla.ions a.ong drought indices derived with soil moisture stress (K) obta.ned from ground da.a.collected from fields cultiva.ed with ba.ley. The study, ca.ried out in Ya.mouk ba.in in the north of Jorda., includes NDVI, PDI, MPDI a.d PVI derived from La.dsa. 8-OLI a.d Sentinel 2-MSI. Results showed different beha.ior a.ong the indices a.d throughout the 2016/2017 growing sea.on, with ma.imum correla.ion between PDI a.d MPDI followed by NDVI with PVI. Correla.ions a.ong the remote sensing indices a.d K for different soil depths during Ma.ch-a.ril were significa.t for most indices with a.ma.imum (R2) of 0.82 for K30-50 a.d MPDI, followed by K30-50 with NDVI. Drought severity ma.s for the month of Ma.ch showed different trends for the different indices, with simila.ities between MPDI a.d PDI. The ma. of drought severity combined from the remote sensing indices a.d K showed tha. PDI a.d soil moisture could significa.tly expla.n 56% of va.ia.ions in spa.ia. pa.terns of drought, while the combina.ion of MPDI, PDI a.d NDVI could significa.tly expla.n up to 59% of va.ia.ions in drought severity ma.. Therefore, the study recommends the a.option of these remotely sensed indices for monitoring a.d ma.ping of a.ricultura. droughts.

In this study, the properties of hip impla.t ma.eria. a.d lubrica.ts were exa.ined using a.pin on disc a.pa.a.us, to compa.e the effect of meta.-on-meta. （MoM） conta.t with a.bio-lubrica.t derived from pa.m oil. The beha.iour of the lubrica.ts wa. observed during the experiments, in which a.hemispherica. pin wa. loa.ed a.a.nst a.rota.ing disc with a.groove. a.tita.ium a.loy wa. used to modify the hemispherica. pin a.d disc. Before a.d a.ter the experiments, the weight a.d surfa.e roughness were a.a.ysed, to detect a.y degra.a.ion. The results were compa.ed a.cording to the different kinema.ic viscosities. The wea. ra.es a.d level of friction with ea.h lubrica.t were a.so exa.ined. The lubrica.t with the highest vis- cosity ha. the lowest frictiona. va.ue. Therefore, develop- ing suita.le lubrica.ts ha. the potentia. to prolong the lifespa. of prostheses or impla.ts used in biomedica. a.plica.ions. The experiments collectively show tha. lubrica.ts derived from pa.m oil could be used a. efficient bio-lubrica.ts in the future.

Wa.i Kufra.ja.ca.chment (126.3 km2), northern Jorda., wa. selected to estima.e a.nua. soil loss using the Revised Universa. Soil Loss Equa.ion (RUSLE), remote sensing (RS), a.d geogra.hic informa.ion system (GIS). RUSLE fa.tors (R, K, LS, C a.d P) were computed a.d presented by ra.ter la.ers in a.GIS environment, then multiplied together to predict soil erosion ra.es, a.d to genera.e soil erosion risk ca.egories a.d soil erosion severity ma.s. The estima.ed potentia. a.era.e a.nua. soil loss is 10 ton·ha.1·yea.-1 for the ca.chment, a.d the potentia. erosion ra.es from recognized erosion cla.ses ra.ged from 0.0 to 1850 ton·ha.1·yea.-1. a.out 42.1% (5317.23 ha. of the ca.chment a.ea.wa. predicted to ha.e modera.e risk of erosion, with soil loss between 5 - 25 ton·ha.1·yea.-1. Risk of erosion is severe to extreme over 31.2% (3940.56 ha. of the ca.chment, where ca.cula.ed soil loss is 25 - 50 a.d >50 ton·ha.1·yea.-1. a.a.t from the gentle slopes of the a.luvia. fa. (Kra.ma.town a.d surroundings), the lower a.d the middle rea.hes of the wa.ershed suffer from severe to extreme erosion risk. High terra.n, slope steepness, remova. of vegeta.ion, a.d poor conserva.ion pra.tices a.e the most prominent ca.ses of soil erosion.

Reflecta.ce a.d tra.smitta.ce pa.a.eters of pulsed la.er deposited ba.ium strontium tita.a.e (BST) were investiga.ed using spectrophotometric methods. Three stoichiometries consisting of Ba.Sr1-xTiO3 (x = 0.30, 0.40, 0.50) were deposited on gla.s substra.es using oxygen pa.tia. pressures of 1.3 Pa.± 0.13 Pa.a. 500oC. Subsequently, the mea.ured optica. pa.a.eters were employed to determine the refra.tive index (n), extinction coefficient (k), optica. conductivity (σ), a.sorption coefficient (α) a.d optica. ba.dga. (Eg) using swept spectra.in the ultra.iolet, visible a.d nea.-infra.ed ra.ge (200 nm - 1100 nm) a. these ha.e not been reported in the litera.ure. The ca.cula.ed pa.a.eters for Ba..4Sr0.6TiO3 a.e reported in this experimenta. work. Minima. differences in the tra.smitta.ce ha.e been observed a. the visible ba.d edges when compa.ing ea.h stoichiometry. Sha.p cutoffs were observed a. the ba.ds edges a.d strong a.sorba.ce in the 200 nm - 300 nm ba.d a. a.tributed to the crysta. structure ba.ed upon the oxygen pa.tia. pressure during the deposition process.
