This pa.er focuses on a.method to solve structura. optimiza.ion problems using pa.ticle swa.m optimiza.ion （PSO）, surroga.e models a.d Ba.esia. sta.istics. PSO is a.ra.dom/stocha.tic sea.ch a.gorithm designed to find the globa. optimum. However, PSO needs ma.y eva.ua.ions compa.ed to gra.ient-ba.ed optimiza.ion. This mea.s PSO increa.es the a.a.ysis costs of structura. optimiza.ion. One of the methods to reduce computing costs in stocha.tic optimiza.ion is to use a.proxima.ion techniques. In this work, surroga.e models a.e used, including the response surfa.e method （RSM） a.d Kriging. When surroga.e models a.e used, there a.e some errors between exa.t va.ues a.d a.proxima.ed va.ues. These errors decrea.e the relia.ility of the optimum va.ues a.d disca.d the rea.istic a.proxima.ion of using surroga.e models. In this pa.er, Ba.esia. sta.istics is used to obta.n more relia.le results. To verify a.d confirm the efficiency of the proposed method using surroga.e models a.d Ba.esia. sta.istics for stocha.tic structura. optimiza.ion, two numerica. exa.ples a.e optimized, a.d the optimiza.ion of a.hub sleeve is demonstra.ed a. a.pra.tica. problem.

In a. effort to protect the qua.ity of the wa.er system, interest in non-point source pollution is increa.ing. Recently, studies of non-point sources pollution a.e continuing in rela.ion to va.ious la.d- use a.ea., but such studies ha.e not been fully conducted in ra.lwa. fa.ility sites. Using monitoring da.a.of ra.lwa. bridge a.ea.with concrete roa.-bed, the runoff cha.a.teristics, polluta.t unit loa.s, a.d first flush criteria.were a.sessed. Ra.lwa. bridge a.ea.with concrete roa.-bed typica.ly show the first flush effect, a.d the polluta.t unit loa. wa. determined to be higher tha. other public fa.ilities a.ea.. Further, the first flush criteria.show a. effective ra.nfa.l a.ount of 7 mm. In other words, from the runoff of ra.lwa. fa.ilities, considera.le a.ounts of non-point source polluta.ts a.e occurred, indica.ing the need to crea.e best ma.a.ement pra.tices which a.e a.equa.e for ra.lwa. fa.ility sites.
