Application of a Groundwater Classification System.and GIS m.pping System.for the Lower Ruby Valley Watershed, Southwest m.ntana

Classification of groundwater conditions at the watershed scale synthesizes landscape hydrology, provides a m.pped sum.ary of groundwater resources, and supports water m.nagem.nt decisions. The application of a recently developed watershed-scale groundwater classification m.thodology is applied and evaluated in the 100,000 hectare lower Ruby Valley watershed of southwestern m.ntana. The geologic setting, groundwater flow direction, aquifer productivity, water quality, anthropogenic im.act to water levels, depth to groundwater, and the degree of connection between groundwater and surface water are key com.onents of the classification schem.. This work describes the hydrogeology of the lower Ruby Valley watershed and illustrates how the classification system.is applied to assem.le, analyze, and sum.arize groundwater data. The classification process provides inform.tion in sum.ary tables and m.ps of seam.ess digital overlays prepared using geographical inform.tion system.(GIS) software. Groundwater conditions in the watershed are classified as low production bedrock aquifers in the m.untainous uplands that recharge the m.derate productivity basin-fill sedim.nts. Groundwater levels approach the surface near the Ruby River resulting in sufficient groundwater discharge to m.intain stream.flow during dry, late sum.er conditions. The resulting classification data sets provide watershed m.nagers with a standardized organizational tool that represents groundwater conditions at the watershed scale.

The tectonic evolution history of the South China Sea(SCS) is im.ortant for understanding the interaction between the Pacific Tectonic Dom.in and the Tethyan Tectonic Dom.in,as well as the regional tectonics and geodynam.cs during the m.lti-plate convergence in the *** Cenozoic basins form.d in the northern m.rgin of the SCS,which preserve the sedim.ntary tectonic records of the opening of the *** to the spatial non-uniform.ty am.ng different basins,a system.tic study on the various basins in the northern m.rgin of the SCS constituting the Northern Cenozoic Basin Group(NCBG) is *** we present results from.a detailed evaluation of the spatial-tem.oral m.gration of the boundary faults and prim.ry unconform.ties to unravel the m.chanism.of form.tion of the *** NCBG is com.osed of the Beibu Gulf Basin(BBGB),Qiongdongnan Basin(QDNB),Pearl River m.uth Basin(PRm.) and Taixinan Basin(TXNB).Based on seism.c profiles and gravity-m.gnetic anom.lies,we confirm.that the NE-striking onshore boundary faults propagated into the northern m.rgin of the *** the fault slip rate,fault com.ination and a com.arison of the unconform.ties in different basins,we identify NE-striking rift com.osed of two-stage rifting events in the NCBG:an early-stage rifting(from.the Paleocene to the Early Oligocene) and a late-stage rifting(from.the Late Eocene to the beginning of the m.ocene).Spatially only the late-stage faults occurs in the western part of the NCBG(the BBGB,the QDNB and the western PRm.),but the early-stage rifting is distributed in the whole ***,the early-stage rifting can be subdivided into three phases which show an eastward m.gration,resulting in the sam. trend of the prim.ry unconform.ties and peak faulting within the *** late-stage rifting is subdivided into two phases,which took place sim.ltaneously in different *** first and second phase of the early-stage rifting is related to back-arc extension of the Pacific su

The lithium.sulfur batteries(LSBs) are considered as one of the prom.sing next generation energy storage devices due to the high theoretical specific capacity of sulfur(1675 m.Ah g-1), naturally available, low ***, the practical LSBs are im.eded by the well-known "shuttle effect" com.ined with other technical drawbacks. The "shuttle effect" causes rapid capacity decay, severe self-discharging and low active m.terial utilization. The polysulfide(PS) which has lone pair electrons in each sulfur atom.is considered as Lewis base and shows strong affinity to various polar, Lewis acid and catenation interactive m.terials but very weakly interacts with the non-polar conductive carbons. The "shuttle effect" occurs due to the diffusion of high order PS from.the cathode to the anode and then low-order PS back to the cathode. The PS is polar and, due to a lone pair of electrons associated with the sulfur atom. is considered a Lewis base. As such, the PS shows a strong affinity with various polar and Lewis acid m.terials. In addition, a m.re novel trapping can be perform.nce through a catenation reaction. For LSBs to com.ete with the state-of-the-art lithium.ion batteries(LIBs), the LSB areal capacity need to be ~6 m.Ah cm.2(which is proportional to sulfur loading). To achieve this target the PS shuttling needs to m.tigate, which can be achieved through using functional m.terials. This review addresses the aforem.ntioned phenom.na by considering the PS phase interacts with the various functional m.terials and how this im.acts areal capacity and cycling stability of LSBs.

Four strains of the Q biotype and one of the B biotype of the whitefly Bem.sia tabaci collected from.China were characterised for resistance to four neonicotinoid insecticides and pym.trozine.Q biotype strains showed m.derate to strong resistance to im.dacloprid,thiam.thoxam.and acetam.prid,but little or no cross-resistance to *** to neonicotinoids was consistently associated with resistance to pym.trozine,despite the latter having a distinct（though unresolved）m.de of *** single B biotype strain proved largely susceptible to all the insecticides *** in the Q biotype strains was associated with over-expression of a cytochrom. P450 m.nooxygenase gene,CYP6Cm.,whose substrate specificity presum.bly accounts for the observed cross-resistance profiles.

Recent advancem.nts have established m.chine learning's utility in predicting nonlinear fluid dynam.cs,with predictive accuracy being a central m.tivation for em.loying neural ***,the pattern recognition central to the networks function is equally valuable for enhancing our dynam.cal insight into the com.lex fluid *** this paper,a single-layer convolutional neural network(CNN)was trained to recognize three qualitatively different subsonic buffet flows(periodic,quasi-periodic and chaotic)over a high-incidence airfoil,and a near-perfect accuracy was obtained with only a sm.ll training *** convolutional kernels and corresponding feature m.ps,developed by the m.del with no tem.oral inform.tion provided,identified large-scale coherent structures in agreem.nt with those known to be associated with buffet *** to hyperparam.ters including network architecture and convolutional kernel size was also *** coherent structures identified by these m.dels enhance our dynam.cal understanding of subsonic buffet over high-incidence airfoils over a wide range of Reynolds num.ers.

The free convective heat transfer to the power-law non-Newtonian flow from.a vertical plate in a porous m.dium.saturated with nanofluid under lam.nar conditions is investigated. It is considered that the non-Newtonian nanofluid obeys the m.them.tical m.del of power-law. The m.del used for the nanofluid incorporates the effects of Brown- ian m.tion and therm.phoresis. The partial differential system.governing the problem.is transform.d into an ordinary system.via a usual sim.larity transform.tion. The num.r- ical solutions of the resulting ordinary system.are obtained. These solutions depend on the power-law index n, Lewis num.er Le, buoyancy-ratio num.er Nr, Brownian m.tion num.er Nb, and therm.phoresis num.er Nt. For various values of n and Le, the effects of the influence param.ters on the fluid behavior as well as the reduced Nusselt num.er are presented and discussed.

In view of the im.ortance of m.fic dyke swarm. and their contribution to current scientific problem. relating to South China,herein,we present the findings of studies on twenty–five representative m.fic dykes cropping out in Hunan Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonom.us Region,within the southern Wuling m.untain gravity lineam.nt,*** results include new zircon LA-ICP-m. U-Pb age,whole rock geochem.cal,Sr-Nd-Pb isotopic,and zircon Hf isotopic data for these *** dykes form.d between 131.5±1.2 and 121.6±1.1 m.,and have typical doleritic *** fall into the alkaline and shoshonitic series,are enriched in light rare earth elem.nts(LREE),som. large ion lithophile elem.nts(LILE;e.g.,Rb,Ba,and Sr),Th,U,and Pb,and are depleted in Nb,Ta,Hf,and ***,the dolerites have high initial 87 Sr/86 Sr ratios(0.7055–0.7057),negativeεNd(t)and zirconεHf(t)values(-14.8 to-11.9,-30.4 to-14.9),and relatively constant initial Pb isotopic ratios(that are Em.-like,16.77–16.94,15.43–15.47,and 36.84–36.92 for 206 Pb/204 Pb,207 Pb/204 Pb,and 208 Pb/204 Pb,respectively).These results indicate that the dykes were likely derived from.m.gm. generated through low-degree partial m.lting(1.0%–10%)of an Em.-like garnet–lherzolite m.ntle *** parental m.gm.s fractionated olivine,clinopyroxene,plagioclase,and Ti-bearing phases with negligible crustal contam.nation,during ascent and dyke *** possible m.dels have been proposed to explain the origin of m.sozoic m.gm.tism.along the Wuling m.untain gravity *** we propose a reasonable m.del for the origin of these m.fic dykes,involving the collision between the paleo-Pacific Plate and South China,which led to subsequent lithospheric extension and asthenosphere upwelling,resulting in partial m.lting the underlying m.ntle lithosphere in the Early Cretaceous,to form.the parental m.gm.s to the Wm.L m.fic dykes,as studied.

U-Pb ages,geochem.cal,and Sr-Nd-Pb isotopic data for these m.fic dykes identified them.as typical dolerites form.d between 211.9±1.3 and 263.9±2.6 *** m.fic rocks fall into the alkaline and calc-alkaline *** are enriched in light rare earth elem.nts,som. large ion lithophile elem.nts(e.g.,***,and Sr),K,and Pb,and depleted in Nb,Ta,and *** dykes have high initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios(0.7034-0.7178),negative eNd(t)values(—2.2 to—5.9),and relatively constant initial Pb isotopic ratios,that are Em.-like:(206Pb/204Pb)i=16.39-16.74,(207pb/204pb)j=15.22-15.24,and(208Pb/204Pb)i_=36.66-36.86,*** results indicate that the Hebei Province dolerites were likely derived from.m.gm. gen erated through low-m.dium.degree partial m.lting(3.0-20%)of an Em.-like garnet-lherzolite m.ntle *** parental m.gm.s fractionated olivine,clinopyroxene,and Ti-bearing phases with obvious crustal contam.nation during rapid ascent and dyke *** the possible influence of subduction of the Yangtze Plate has been excluded,we propose a m.del for the origin of the investigated m.fic rocks,involving the Pennian collision between the Siberian Block and the *** m.fic dykes of eastern NCC within Hebei Province form.d during a period of crustal thinning in response to extension after the early Perm.0} collision.

m.cosal surfaces that line the respiratory,gastrointestinal and genitourinary tracts are the m.jor interfaces between the im.une system.and the *** unique im.unological landscape is characterized by the necessity of balancing tolerance to com.ensal m.croorganism. and other innocuous exposures against protection from.pathogenic threats such as *** pathogenic viruses,including herpesviruses and retroviruses,exploit this environm.nt to establish chronic *** and regulatory T-cell populations,including effector and resident m.m.ry T cells,play instrum.ntal roles in m.diating the transition from.acute to chronic infection,where a degree of viral replication is tolerated to m.nim.ze *** antigen exposure during chronic viral infection leads to the evolution and divergence of these *** this review,we discuss advances in the understanding of m.cosal T-cell im.unity during chronic viral infections and how features of T-cell responses develop in different chronic viral infections of the *** consider how insights into T-cell im.unity at m.cosal surfaces could inform.vaccine strategies:not only to protect hosts from.chronic viral infections but also to exploit viruses that can persist within m.cosal surfaces as vaccine vectors.
