U-Pb Zircon Age, Geochemical, and Sr-Nd-Pb Isotopic Constraints on the Age and Origin of mafic Dykes from Eastern Shandong Province, Eastern China

U-Pb zircon age, geochemical, and Sr-Nd-Pb isotopic data of mafic dykes from eastern Shandong Province, eastern China is reported herein. Laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry （LA-ICP-mS） U-Pb zircon analyses of two samples from the investigated mafic dykes yield consistent ages ranging from 121.9 ma ± 0.47 ma to 122.9 ma ± 0.61 ma. The mafic dykes are characterized by high （87Sr/86Sr） i ranging from 0.7087 to 0.7089, low εNd（t） values ranging from -16.9 to -17.8, 206Pb/204Pb = 17.15 to 17.17, 207Pb/204Pb = 15.45 to 15.47, and 208Pb/204Pb = 37.59 to 37.68. Results from the current study suggest that the mafic dykes are derived from partial melting of ancient lithospheric mantle that was variably hybridized by melts derived from foundered lower crustal eclogite. The mafic dykes may have been generated through subsequent insignificant crystal fractionation and very minor crustal contamination during magma ascent. Combined with previous studies, the current findings provide new evidence that the intense lithospheric thinning beneath the eastern Shandong Province of eastern China occurred at ~120 ma, and that this condition was caused by the removal of the lower lithosphere （mantle and lower crust）.

Using classification assignment rules to assess land-use change impacts on forest biodiversity at local-to-national scales

Background： Ecosystem representation is one key component in assessing the biodiversity impacts of land-use changes that will irrevocably alter natural ecosystems. We show how detailed vegetation plot data can be used to assess the potential impact of inundation by a proposed hydroelectricity dam in the mokihinui gorge, New Zealand, on representation of natural forests. Specifically we ask： 1） How well are the types of forest represented Locally, regionally, and nationally; and 2） How does the number of distinct communities （i.e. beta diversity） in the target catchment compare with other catchments nationally？ methods： For local and regional comparisons plant species composition was recorded on 45 objectively located 400 m2 vegetation plots established in each of three gorges, with one being the proposed inundation area of the mokihinui lower gorge. The fuzzy classification framework of noise clustering was used to assign these plots to a specific alliance and association of a pre-existing national-scale classification. NationaLly, we examined the relationship between the number of alliances and associations in a catchment and either catchment size or the number of plots per catchment by fitting Generalised Additive models. Results： The four alliances and five associations that were observed in the mokihinui lower gorge arepresent in the region but limited locally. One association was narrowly distributed nationally, but is the mostfrequent association in the mokihinui lower gorge; inundation may have consequences of national importance to its long-term persistence. That the mokihinui lower gorge area had nearly twice as many plots that could not be assigned to pre- existing alliances and associations than either the mokihinui upper or the Karamea lower gorges and proportionally more than the national dataset emphasises the compositional distinctiveness of this gorge. background and purpose Recent reports from our laboratory demonstrated the post-ischaemic expression profile of various matrix metalloproteinases(mmPs)in rats and the detrimental role of mmP-12 in post-stroke brain *** hypothesise that the post-stroke dysregulation of mmPs is similar across species and that genetic deletion of mmP-12 would not affect the post-stroke expression of other *** tested our hypothesis by determining the pre-ischaemic and post-ischaemic expression profile of mmPs in wild-type and mmP-12 knockout *** Focal cerebral ischaemia was induced in wildtype and mmP-12 knockout mice by middle cerebral artery occlusion procedure by insertion of a monofilament *** hour after ischaemia,reperfusion was initiated by removing the *** day after reperfusion,ischaemic brain tissues from various groups of mice were collected,and total RNA was isolated and subjected to cDNA synthesis followed by PCR *** Although the post-stroke expression profile of mmPs in the ischaemic brain of mice is different from rats,there is a clear species similarity in the expression of mmP-12,which was found to be predominantly upregulated in both ***,the post-stroke induction or inhibition of various mmPs in mmP-12 knockout mice is different from their respective expression profile in wild-type ***,the brain mRNA expression profile of various mmPs in mmP-12 knockout mice under normal conditions is also different to their expression in wild-type *** In the ischaemic brain,mmP-12 upregulates several fold higher than any other *** derived with the genetic deletion of mmP-12 are constitutive and have altered mmP expression profile both under normal and ischaemic conditions.

目的探讨河南省两城市高中生文化定位、饮酒期望、自我效能和饮酒行为之间的关系，为有针对性地设计预防控制青少年饮酒教育项目提供理论依据。方法采用分层整群随机抽样方法，于2005年11月对河南省郑州、信阳两市6所高中2756名高一、二学生进行匿名问卷调查，利用SPSS13．0和SAS8．10软件完成数据分析。结果调查学生饮酒率为56．5％。文化定位总均分为3．25（3．09，3．42）；饮酒期望总均分为3．02（2．81，3．23）；饮酒自我效能总均分为79．64（60．36，93．21）。传统文化定位、西方文化定位、饮酒积极期望、饮酒消极期望、饮酒自我效能、饮酒行为各因素之间均存在直接或间接关联。过去30d内较少的饮酒天数与较高的饮酒自我效能和饮酒消极期望、较低的饮酒积极期望和西方文化定位直接相关（相关系数分别是0．346、0．282、0．234和0．162），与中国传统文化定位无直接相关。结论调查学生饮酒情况比较严重，不同饮酒信念和文化定位影响饮酒行为的发生，预防控制青少年饮酒教育活动可以此作为切入点进行。

The tectonic evolution history of the South China Sea(SCS) is important for understanding the interaction between the Pacific Tectonic Domain and the Tethyan Tectonic Domain,as well as the regional tectonics and geodynamics during the multi-plate convergence in the *** Cenozoic basins formed in the northern margin of the SCS,which preserve the sedimentary tectonic records of the opening of the *** to the spatial non-uniformity among different basins,a systematic study on the various basins in the northern margin of the SCS constituting the Northern Cenozoic Basin Group(NCBG) is *** we present results from a detailed evaluation of the spatial-temporal migration of the boundary faults and primary unconformities to unravel the mechanism of formation of the *** NCBG is composed of the Beibu Gulf Basin(BBGB),Qiongdongnan Basin(QDNB),Pearl River mouth Basin(PRmB) and Taixinan Basin(TXNB).Based on seismic profiles and gravity-magnetic anomalies,we confirm that the NE-striking onshore boundary faults propagated into the northern margin of the *** the fault slip rate,fault combination and a comparison of the unconformities in different basins,we identify NE-striking rift composed of two-stage rifting events in the NCBG:an early-stage rifting(from the Paleocene to the Early Oligocene) and a late-stage rifting(from the Late Eocene to the beginning of the miocene).Spatially only the late-stage faults occurs in the western part of the NCBG(the BBGB,the QDNB and the western PRmB),but the early-stage rifting is distributed in the whole ***,the early-stage rifting can be subdivided into three phases which show an eastward migration,resulting in the same trend of the primary unconformities and peak faulting within the *** late-stage rifting is subdivided into two phases,which took place simultaneously in different *** first and second phase of the early-stage rifting is related to back-arc extension of the Pacific su

Robust Fingerprint Construction Based on multiple Path Loss model (m-PLm) for Indoor Localization

A robust radio map is essential in implementing a fingerprint-based indoor positioning system(IPS).However,the offline site survey to manually construct the radio map is time-consuming and *** interpolation techniques have been proposed to infer the virtual fingerprints to reduce the time and effort required for offline site *** paper presents a novel fingerprint interpolator using a multi-path loss model(mPLm)to create the virtual fingerprints from the collected sample data based on different signal paths from different access points(APs).Based on the historical signal data,the poor signal paths are identified using their standard *** proposed method reduces the positioning errors by smoothing out the wireless signal fluctuations and stabilizing the signals for those poor signal *** consideringmultipath signal propagations from different APs,the inherent noise from these signal paths can be ***,locations of the signal data with standard deviations higher than the threshold are *** new fingerprints are then generated at these locations based on the proposed m-PLm interpolation function to replace the old *** proposed technique interpolates virtual fingerprints based on good signal paths with more stable signals to improve the positioning *** results show that the proposed scheme enhances the positioning accuracy by up to 44%compared to the conventional interpolation techniques such as the Inverse DistanceWeighting,Kriging,and single Path *** a result,we can overcome the site survey problems for IPS by building an accurate radio map with more reliable signals to improve indoor positioning performance.

The RNA-binding pentatricopeptide repeat(PPR)family comprises hundreds to thousands of genes in most plants,but only a few dozen in algae,indicating massive gene expansions during land plant *** nature and timing of these expansions has not been well defined due to the sparse sequence data available from early-diverging land plant *** this study,we exploit the comprehensive OneKP datasets of over 1000 transcriptomes from diverse plants and algae toward establishing a clear picture of the evolution of this massive gene family,focusing on the proteins typically associated with RNA editing,which show the most spectacular variation in numbers and domain composition across the plant *** characterize over 2250000 PPR motifs in over 400000 *** lycophytes,polypod ferns,and hornworts,nearly 10%of expressed protein-coding genes encode putative PPR editing factors,whereas they are absent from algae and complex-thalloid *** show that rather than a single expansion,most land plant lineages with high numbers of editing factors have continued to generate novel sequence *** identify sequence variations that imply functional differences between PPR proteins in seed plants versus non-seed plants and variations we propose to be linked to seed-plant-specific editing ***,using the sequence variations across the datasets,we develop a structural model of the catalytic DYW domain associated with C-to-U editing and identify a clade of unique DYW variants that are strong candidates as U-to-C RNA-editing factors,given their phylogenetic distribution and sequence characteristics.
