Late Triassic sauropodomorph and Middle Jurassic theropod tracks from the Xichang Basin,Sichuan Province,southwestern China:First report of the ichnogenus Carmelopodus

Upper Triassic and Middle Jurassic strata of the Xichang Basin in Sichuan Province, southwestern China, yielded important dinosaur ichnofossils. From the Xujiahe Formation of the Yiguojiao tracksite, we report a Late Triassic footprint assemblage in China and the first discovery of diagnostic Triassic sauropodomorph tracks in this region. The tracks share a number of features in common with the ichnogenera Eosauropus(Late Triassic) and Liujianpus(Early Jurassic). The neighboring Bingtu tracksite is stratigraphically younger(Shaximiao Formation, Middle Jurassic) and preserves small tridactyl theropod tracks that represent the first occurrence of the ichnotaxon Carmelopodus in China and Asia. While these tracks are morphologically comparable to those from the Middle Jurassic type locality in North America, the specimens from China show the proximal margin of the digit iv impression in a more cranial position, which may indicate a trackmaker with a relatively short metatarsal iv. In addition to the skeletal record, the Carmelopodus footprints document the presence of small theropods in the dinosaur fauna of the Middle Jurassic Shaximiao Formation.

The photophysical behaviors of the oligomer based on 1,1'-binaphthol with3,3'-acetylene spacer were investigated. The oligomer molecule has a naphthyl-acetylene-naphthyl effective conjugation segment. The atropic of the 1,1'-binaphthyl moiety led totwisted and rigid main chain in the oligomer. With the changes of the external environ-ment such as solvents used, solvent viscosity and ambient temperature, the wavelengthsof absorption and the intensities of fluorescence and absorption are changed slightly, butthe fluorescent intensity and quantum yield can be influenced. The luminescent behav-iors of the oligomer exhibit twisted intramolecular charge transfer characteristics, whichcould have a potential application in wavelength-stable light emitting material adaptableto ambient temperature and the solvents used in wide range.

Hazards and Landscape Changes(Degradations) on Hungarian Karst Mountains Due to Natural and Human Effects

In order to study the karstological processes within the karst ecological system,the geohazards and degradation of karst landscapes on the karst areas of the Bakony mountains(Hungary),we investigated the abiotic elements of the environment,soil and cover deposits,erosion soil decay;the changes in the quantity and quality of karst waters:contamination at swallow holes,contamination of karst springs;and the biogenic factors:surface vegetation coverage by the corine land cover method,plant-ecological examinations,qualification of surface waters with the help of biological water *** recognized that the increasing human activities during the past few centuries have had significant impact on the investigated landscapes of karst areas because of their spatial *** the scope of our research we concluded that the landscape changes due to natural and human effects can vary strongly on the different karst *** differences can arise from the climatic and geomorphologic situation,the coverlayer's qualities,etc.,but primarily from the different utilization of the investigated karst areas(*** intensity,characteristics and territorial extension of utilization).On the spot investigation we detected traces of new and fast geomorphological processes(gully formation,landslides,collapses,new sinkhole development) and landforms(sinkholes,gullies,swallow holes),which are clear evidences of the effect of climatic changes.

Compelling pieces of evidence derived from both clinical and experimental research has demonstrated the crucial contribution of diabetes mellitus(DM)as a risk factor associated with increased cancer incidence and mortality in many human neoplasms,including gastric cancer(GC).DM is considered a systemic inflammatory disease and therefore,this inflammatory status may have profound effects on the tumor microenvironment(TME),particularly by driving many molecular mechanisms to generate a more aggressive *** is an active driver in the modification of the behavior of many cell components of the TME as well as altering the mechanical properties of the extracellular matrix(ECM),leading to an increased ECM ***,DM can alter many cellular signaling mechanisms and thus favoring tumor growth,invasion,and metastatic potential,as well as key elements in regulating cellular functions and cross-talks,such as the microRNAs network,the production,and cargo of exosomes,the metabolism of cell stroma and resistance to *** the present review,we intend to highlight the mechanistic contributions of DM to the remodeling of TME in GC.

A Construction Heuristic for the Split Delivery Vehicle Routing Problem

The Split Delivery Vehicle Routing Problem (SDVRP) is a relaxation of the Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem (CVRP) where customers may be assigned to multiple routes. A new construction heuristic is developed for the SDVRP and computational results are given for thirty-two data sets from previous literature. With respect to the total travel distance, the construction heuristic compares favorably versus a column generation method and a two-phase method. In addition, the construction heuristic is computationally faster than both previous methods. This construction heuristic could be useful in developing initial solutions, very quickly, for a heuristic, algorithm, or exact procedure.

Conditions Where the Chaotic Set Has a Non-Empty Residual Julia Set for Two Classes of Meromorphic Functions

We define the Fatou and Julia sets for two classes of meromorphic functions. The Julia set is the chaotic set where the fractals appear. The chaotic set can have points and components which are buried. The set of these points and components is called the residual Julia set, denoted by , and is defined to be the subset of those points of the Julia set, chaotic set, which do not belong to the boundary of any component of the Fatou set (stable set). The points of are called buried points and the components of are called buried components. In this paper we extend some results related with the residual Julia set of transcendental meromorphic functions to functions which are meromorphic outside a compact countable set of essential singularities. We give some conditions where .

Copper Oxide Inked with Dye Obtained from the Lactarius Indigo Fungus for Energy Production

The results obtained from the characterization of a copper deposit on indium doped tin oxide (ITO), inked with natural dye extracted from the Lactarius indigo fungus, for use in Gratzel type solar cells are reported. An electrolyte composed of 0.1 M HNO3 and 0.5 M CuSO4 was used, this solution was prepared for copper deposits on the ITO. Cyclic voltammetry was performed at different scan rates to obtain the reduction zone for deposition between potentials of ?100 to ?500 mV. The dye was obtained from the indigo Lactarius fungus from maceration, once the inked deposits were obtained, characterizations were performed, the initial test was to obtain the Ultraviolet-Visible (UV-visible) of the pure dye, and later the same test was performed on the inked oxide. Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) was performed on the samples, as well as Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), to characterize the material properties for its application.
