Two-wheeled motorized road accidents are becoming increasingly frequent and are responsible for high mortality among a young and active population in developing countries. The objective of this study was to determine the mortality rate related to motorcycle accidents and to identify socio-demographic factors and accidental mechanisms. Methodology: This was a retrospective descriptive and analytical study involving 16,655 patients, including 312 deaths due to motorcycle accidents. The study took place from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2017. Not all patients who died as a result of accidents involving equipment other than two motorized wheels were included in our study. The data were entered and analyzed using the *** version software. For the comparison of qualitative data, we used Pearson’s khi2. Results: We recorded 312 cases of death or 1.87% out of a total of 16,655 victims. Of the deceased victims, only 112 wore a protective helmet and 200 did not. The male predominance was clear (p p Conclusion: This study shows that two-wheeled motor vehicle accident mortality is a public health problem. Gender, occupation and time of occurrence of the accidents were most common factors associated with mortality. The effective establishment of an emergency medical assistance service (SAMU) in Conakry could improve the pre-hospital care of these traumatised people.

Objective: Contribute to improving care for prostate cancer patients in Cote d’ivoire by identifying the average time before the development of the hormone-resistance and inherent therapeutic strategies. Patients and Method: it was a retro and prospective study over three years performed at the University Teaching Hospital of Treichville in Abidjan. 84 patients with metastatic prostate adenocarcinoma and resistant to hormone therapy were involved in the study. The analysis of clinical records enabled us to integrate different parameters in our study. Results: Our patients were relatively young (an average age of 61 years) and most of them belonged to the middle socio-economic class (50%). The resistance occurred within an average period of 9 months. The mixing of Docetaxel and Prednisone chemotherapy was the most used method of treatment (70% of cases). However, few patients (9.5%) received Abiraterone Acetate. Digestive and hematologic toxicities were noticed but they could be controlled by inherent treatment or disappear spontaneously. After nine months of treatment, 54.24% of patients who received specific treatment were alive, but high rates of mortality were observed as for patients who were only treated symptomatically. Conclusion: The relatively short average time before the development of hormone-resistance shows the aggressiveness of prostate adenocarcinoma from black Africans. The main therapeutic standard in our context remains Taxane-based chemotherapy with a good and fair tolerance.

Adult Kidney Cancer in Mauritania: Clinical and Therapeutic Aspects

introduction: since its creation, our urology department has taken care of tumor pathologies in particular kidney cancer in adults;our goal is to study the clinical and therapeutic epidemiological profiles of adult kidney cancer in Mauritania. Materials and Methods: We carried out a retrospective study over a period of six years, from January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2017, including all cases of adult kidney cancer registered in the urology-andrology departments of the Cheikh Zayed Hospital and Pathological Anatomy of the National Hospital of Nouakchott (Mauritania). Results: we collected 50 cases of kidney cancer. The average annual incidence was 8.3 cases. The average age of the patients was 52.98 years with extremes of 18 and 84 years. There was a female predominance (52%) or 29 women for 21 men. Lumbar pain was the most frequent clinical expression, more than half of the patients had symptoms over a period of at least 12 months before the first consultation. The left kidney was the most frequently affected. The right localization was demonstrated in 23 patients, the extension assessment was made with thoraco-abdomino-pelvic CT in 40 patients. Twelve patients had a tumor localized in the kidney. The extension assessment had made it possible to objectify the existence of metastases in 17 of our patients (37%). The preferred locations of these metastases were pulmonary and hepatic. Surgical intervention was performed in 44 patients (88%), of whom 36 underwent radical nephrectomy (72%), and two patients underwent partial nephrectomy (4.5%). Surgical abstention was decided from the outset in 6 patients (13.6%). None of our patients had received treatment with anti-angiogenics. The histological type most observed in our patients was renal cell carcinoma, observed in 34 patients, or 77.72%. At the time of the study, more than a third of the patients had died. The issue of wound care has always played an important role in the practice of medicine. This is evidenced by Ambroise Paré’s decision to publish his first work on this subject, “La manière de traiter les Plaies” (The Way of Treating Wounds) in 1545. Objective: To evaluate the therapeutic methods we practice and to describe the impact of the pathology on socio-economic and professional development. Patients and Method: This was a retrospective study carried out at the Fousseyni Daou Hospital in Kayes from January 1, 2018, to December 31, 2020. We included all patients with an ulcero-necrotic wound on immunocompetent terrain hospitalized in the department. Patients with ulcerative necrotic wounds of diabetes, HiV, or cancerous origin were not included. The parameters studied were: etiologies, local care, sequelae, and socio-economic and professional aspects. Results: We collected 57 patients of whom 43 were men and 14 were women, i.e. a sex ratio of 3. The mean age was 40.7 years with a standard deviation of 8.4 with extremes (7 years and 80 years). The average consultation time was 25.1 days. The most represented socio-professional stratum was agropastoralism in 37 cases (65%). The predominant etiological factor was neglected traumatic wounds in 34 cases (59.6%). The site was the lower limb in 39 cases (68.5%). The germ found was Staphylococcus aureus in 21 cases (36.8%). The particularity during local care was the use of table sugar in 9 cases (15.7%) and maggot therapy in 2 cases (3.5%). Hyperthermia was the clinical sign of aggravation in 22 cases (38.6%) and we diagnosed 2 cases (3.5%) of tetanus. The mortality rate was 15.7% (9 cases) and 30 cases (52.7%) of sequelae after recovery. The average length of hospitalization was 38 days. Groundwater is an essential resource of drinking water in Fu Xian and of whole Yan An. Recently in Fu County;we have seen an increase in the population（Density（/km2）=38） resulting the increased demand for drinking water and can make some environmental problems such surface waters pollution which can also contaminate groundwater. in addition, groundwater once polluted it is difficult to clean. For forestalling groundwater pollution and making respect the existent narrow line between human and its environment, as said by Rio Declaration on Environment and Development 1992, we carried out a series of research in Fu County. A research has taken around 2 years, from 2013 to *** main purpose of this research is to prevention and assessment of the groundwater, and this study will achieve to the following objectives: Providing critical analysis and interpretation of existing data, estimating the risks of contamination, characterize the aquifer system in the aspect of the distribution and evolution of their pollution, and recommendation for improvement of groundwater in Fu *** achieve our goals, we approached the research by using the following scheme which mainly includes three（3） aspects:? Objective: The purpose of this study was to assess the risk factors associated with seat presentation and to determine the maternal-fetal prognosis of delivery in the presentation of the seat. Materials and methods: This was a descriptive, cross-sectional and analytical case-control study with prospective data collection, from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2019, a 12-month period at Kayes Hospital, Mali. Results: During our study period we recorded 3820 deliveries, including 120 breos;a frequency of 3.14% of all deliveries. The 20 - 35 age group was the most represented in cases 61.7%. Of the cases 66.7% (n-80) were out of school, we note 75.8% (n-182) of out-of-school controls. Primiparaily:"">ily:Verdana;">es were the majority among cases 39.2% (n-47), as were 39.1% of the controls (n-118). The cases had a history of caesarean section at 15% (n-18);13, 3% (n-32). The most common mode of presentation was the 70% decomplete seat. it was mainly the anterior left sacro iliac variety (85.8%). The dry faecal sludge (DFS) are potential sources of organic fertilizers because of their high content in nutrients and organic matter, critical for plants growth and soil health maintaining. in Burkina Faso, the DFS are processed in faecal treatment plants. However, after drying, the DFS are most often dumped in the nature without any control or directly used as fertilizer without any idea of their potential risks for human health and the environment. This investigation aimed at physico-chemical and toxicological characterization of the DFS from faecal treatment plants according to the duration of their storage. For this purpose, DFS samples were collected in three (3) faecal treatment plants in Ouagadougou and one in Bobo Dioulasso, in Burkina Faso. The measurements were carried out on pH (H2O), organic matter content, major nutrients (N, P, K), trace elements (Na, Ca and Mg) and metallic trace elements. indifferently to the faecal treatment plants and the duration of the storage, the DFS showed strong acidity (4.85 ± 0.13 et 6.53 ± 0.10) and low content in total elements (Na à40.97% ± 9.99%). Values recorded of the trace metallic elements showed there were no risk of contamination when used as fertilizers: (103.9 ± 2.00 mg/kg i indicated a high fertilizer potential of the DFS after addressing the issue of their acidity.

Convective heat transfer coefficients, materializing exchanges between solid wall (here typha) and its environment, influence its behavior under excitation pulse. Temperature of wall and its density of flow vary with these coefficients according to its thickness (in depth). This study therefore focuses on the evaluation of convective heat transfer coefficient on front face and the optimal insulation thickness.

Objective background: This was a retrospective study of the clinical and therapeutic aspects of urological complications of female genital mutilation in the urology department of Bamako’s Gabriel Touré University Hospital. Methods: Our study took place from 2002 to 2017 in the urology department of the Gabriel Touré University Hospital in Bamako and concerned cases of complications of female genital mutilation. Our study included all girls or women presenting with urinary disorders related to complications of genital mutilation and received in urological consultation and surgical management. Results: The average age of our patients was 2.5 years, with extremes ranging from 3 months to 35 years. The oldest patient had presented with dystocia during both deliveries. Acute urine retention (n = 7) was the most frequent reason for consultation. Other signs included urinary incontinence, pollakiuria and burning. Physical examination revealed clitoridectomy and abrasion of the labia minora in 13 patients. Type iii of the WHO classification of female genital mutilation was the most frequent and corresponded to infibulation.
