Association of inflammation with atrial fibrillation in hyperthyroidism

The aim of this studywas to evaluate the relationship between inflammation and development of atrial fibrillation (AF) in patients with *** A total of 65 patients with newly diagnosed hyperthyroidism, 35 of whom were in sinus rhythm and 30 of whom in AF. Thirty five age- and gender-matched patients in a control group were included in the study. Factors associated with the development of AF were evaluated by multivariate regression analysis. Results Factors associated with AF in multivariate analysis included high sensitivity C reactive protein (HsCRP) [odds ratio (OR): 11.19; 95% confidence interval (95% Ci): 1.80–69.53; P = 0.003],free T4 (OR: 8.76; 95% Ci: 2.09–36.7; P = 0.003), and left atrial diameter (OR: 1.25; 95% Ci: 1.06–1.47; P = 0.008). Conclusions The results of the present study suggest that HsCRP, an indicator of inflammation, free T4 and left atrial diameter are associated with the development AF in patients with hyperthyroidism.

Aim of this study is to discuss matters with HR and finn performance. Therefore, we used HR and firm performance questionnaire from Delaney and Huselid （1996）. HR variables include recruitment, training, compensation and promotion. Firm performance divided into organizational and market performance. Therefore, correlation analysis demonstrates that HR has positive and significant relationship with organizational performance, and HR has positive but weak relationship with market performance. Therefore, we can propose that HR is partly correlated with firm performance for those companies in sample. Therefore, since we didn＇t realize demography of companies in study, it is arguable, findings of this study can be generalized to other companies in Turkey.

The article comprises synthesis of calyx[4]-oxa-crown, and calix[4]-thia-crown compounds containing nitrile groups (3a, 3b) and amino groups (4a, 4b) and their corresponding oxime derivatives (5a, 5b) and liquid-liquid extraction studies of these compounds. The oxime derivatives of compounds (5a, 5b) have been synthesized by reacting of di-n-butylamino derivatives of calix[4]-oxa-crown, and calix[4]-thia-crown compounds (4a, 4b) with amphi-chloroglyoxime in methanol-THF. Their cation and anion transfer studies were performed by using liquid-liquid extraction procedure. it has been concluded from the observations that the compound 3a shows a good extraction behavior toward Na+ ion in the presence of other metal cations. Whereas, its oxime derivatives transfers all of the metal cations used in the liquid-liquid extraction studies.

in this study an ultra violet analysis, which is a spectrophotometric method, was applied for the first time as a structural analysis of the group. The following species were collected from Karamik Lake in Afyon Province, Turkey between April and August, 2015, Hydryphantes flexiosus, Hydrodroma despiciens, Georgella helvatica, Eylais infundibulifera, Hygrobates nigromacutlatus and Torrenticola brevirostris. These species were separately analyzed by Ultraviolet Spectrophotometer (US) and the results assessed using graphical readings. The affiliations between the species were read from the graphical curves of each species and then compared in terms of the curves.

We aimed to investigate the role of thioredoxin reductase （TR） and inducible heat shock protein 70 （iHsp70） and their relationship with sperm quality in varicocele （VAR） patients. Semen samples were obtained from 16 subfertile men diagnosed as VAR and 10 fertile men who applied to the Andrology Laboratory of istanbul Medical Faculty of istanbul University. The sperm TR and iHsp 70 expression levels were determined using Western blot analysis. The TR activity of the sperm was assayed spectrophometrically. The sperm quality was evaluated both by conventional sperm analysis and by a terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick end-labeling （TUNEL） technique that assayed DNA-fragmented spermatozoa in semen samples. The percentage of TUNELopositive spermatozoa in the VAR group （16.3%±5.6%） was higher than that in the fertile group （5.5%±1.9%）. Significant inverse correlations were detected between the percentage of TUNEL-positive cells and both the concentration （r=--0.609; P=0.001） and motility （r=--0.550; P=-0.004） of spermatozoa. Both the TR expression and activity were increased significantly in the VAR group （U=22.0; P=0.001 and U=33.5 P=0.012, respectively） as analyzed using the Mann-Whitney UWilcoxon rank sum Wtest. Furthermore, significant positive correlations were found between TR expression and activity （r=-0.406; P=O.040） and between TR expression and the percentage of TUNEL-positive cells （r=0.665; P=-0.001）. Sperm iHsp70 expression did not differ between the VAR and fertile groups. in conclusion, increased sperm TR expression might be a defense mechanism against apoptosis in the spermatozoa of men with VAR.

in this study the distribution and relationships of element levels in water and water mite species (Acari, Hydrachnidia) selected as model organisms have been examined in two different lakes. Water samples from Eber and Karamik Lakes were analyzed with iCP (iCP-OES instrument Spectro Genesis Fee, Germany) equipment to determine the element levels in the water. That impact level of these elements on the distribution of species was discussed. Change in the lake water composition was not a significantly determining factor in the number of species and diversities of water mites. However, eutrophication was observed to be a determining factor on the distribution of species.

The Pontide belt in northern Turkey includes three major tectonic terranes,the Strandja Massif（Sj M）,and the istanbul（iSZ）and Sakarya Zones（SZ）(Fig.1).We present new age and geochemical data from ophiolites and ophiolitic mélanges within the Sakarya Zone and show that these mafic–ultramafic rocks are the remnants of Tethyan oceanic lithosphere formed in different tectonic *** main ophiolite occurrences investigated in this study along the Karakaya Suture（KS）are associated with the latest Triassic Cimmeride orogeny,and in the Küre–Yusufeli ophiolite belt are part of the Alpide *** Karakaya Suture Zone ophiolites in northern west Turkey are comprised mainly of the Denizgoren（?anakkale）ophiolite,Bo?azk?y（Bursa）,Geyve（Sakarya）,Almac?k（Düzce）and?ele（Bolu）*** Denizg?ren ophiolite largely contains upper mantle peridotites,which are equivalents of the Permo–Triassic Lesvos peridotites and mélange units farther SW in the northern Aegean *** Bo?azk?y ophiolite includes serpentinite and metagabbro,and the Almac?k and Geyve ophiolites display an almost complete Penrose–type sequence consisting of serpentinizeduppermantleperidotites,cumulate ultramafic–mafic rocks,isotropic gabbros,dolerite and plagiogranite dikes,and extrusive rocks.U–Pb zircon dating of plagiogranite dikes from?ele has revealed an igneous age of 260 Ma,and 255,235,227 Ma from Almac?k（Bozkurt et al.,2012a,b）.Consistent with the previouslypublished Permo–Triassic age,we obtained a 268.4±6.3 Ma U–Pb zircon age from a plagiogranite dike within the Almacik ophiolite to the *** KS ophiolite belt containing the?ele,Almac?k,Geyve ophiolites within the SZ extends westward into the Armutlu Peninsula and then into the Biga Peninsula（***?ren ophiolite）and most likely connects with the remnants of the Triassic Meliata–Meliac ocean basin（Stampfli and Borel,2002）in the Balkan *** KS ophiolites also continue eastward within the Pontide Belt into the Elekda?ophiolite（e
