The facts showed that the number of unemployment people is increasing and a large part of them live in the low-lying areas to be facing the challenge from impacts of climate change. So adaptive capacity of the poverty level for sustainable livelihood in vulnerable wetlands is related to coping with local climate change. This paper focuses on soil-less agriculture (Hydroponics) as an alternative source of livelihood means for the communities having no lands for cultivation. Approximately half of Bangladesh is covered with wetlands. The prospect of enormous productivity lies in the development of wetland resources. The soil-less agriculture is an indigenous practice in the middle of southwestern part of Bangladesh. The people who lives within the wetland ecosystems uses locally available paddy straws, water hyacinths and various invasively aquatic plants for making the floating mat or organic bed on which crops, vegetables and seedlings are grown. The productivity of this farming system is much higher than that of terrestrials agricultural and the system can support fisheries of open water. The compost generated from organic refuse bed is a kind of enriched nutrient and can act as a soil conditioner. it would be a major source of nutrients in aquaculture as well. The system is capable to ensure more agriculture production by restoring wetlands from aquatic invasive plant. in addition, the technology included of the system is friendly to ecosystem of wetlands.

Synthesis of ion imprinted polymers for selective recognition and separation of rare earth metals

Lanthanide-ion imprinted polymers（L-iiPs） were synthesized by stoichiometric amounts of rare earth ions and the cavities in the polymers were created for the corresponding lanthanide ions. The maximum sorption capacities were estimated to be 125.3, 126.5, 127.6, 128.2 and 129.1 mg/g for Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu and Gd, respectively at p H 6. in the selectivity study, the L-iiPs exhibited good selectivity to the specific rare earth ions in the presence of coexisting cations. The imprinting results were found to be excellent with some rare earth ions over other competitor rare earth ions with the same charges and close ionic radius.

Addition of nano size particles of TiO2 in the coating of shielded metal arc welding electrode (E 11018m) partially substituting the conventional micro size TiO2 was studied for possible enhanced electrode characteristics. The results show that the nano size particle of TiO2 improved recovery of elements such as mn, Ni, mo, Ti etc. as well as increased all-weld-metal tensile and charpy impact properties at –51℃. Furthermore, the charpy impact properties were found to be very sensitive to variations in Ti content of the weld deposit.

An efficient protocol for high frequency in vitro regeneration of meizotropis pellita an endangered and endemic plant was developed. in vitro germination of the seeds of Patwa was achieved successfully after incubation for 10 -15 days and plantlets up to a height of 5 -7 cm with profuse rooting were observed after incubation for 7 weeks in hormone free mS medium. This in vitro germination totally reduced contamination that used to occur in the explant taken from the field. Callus induction and proliferation were observed in leaf explants after 15 -20 days of incubation in mS medium containing 2 -4, D (9.06 μm) alone or in combination with 2 -4, D (9.06 μm) + 2-iP (7.38 μm). Shoot regeneration was achieved from 2 months old callus explant in mS medium supplemented with BA (17.6 μm) + GA3 (1.0 μm). Shoot multiplication was also achieved from cotyledonary node of m. pellita in mS medium supplemented with Kinetin + GA3 (4.6 μm + 1.0 μm) or BA (13.2, 17.6 μm) + GA3 (1.0 μm) after 30 -45 days of incubation. iBA (4.9 μm) was more effective in root regeneration from micro shoots. The plantlets after acclimatization over a period of 1 month were further hardened in a polyhouse for two months. On the basis of available literature this is the first and significant study regarding the comparative effect of different PGRs on in-vitro propagation of meizotropis pellita by using different explants and their subsequent effect on rooting. This significant study could be useful for large scale production of successfully hardened plants and conservation of this shrub.

in this paper, a multiple beamforming technique is presented by using a direct data domain least squares (D3LS) approach. Direct data domain approach is very suitable for real time applications since it utilizes only a single snapshot of data as opposed to statistical approaches where multiple measurements have to be taken and the covariance matrix has to be formed. it is also very effective especially in the case of blinking jammers where the statistical approaches will fail or needs to perform additional tasks to overcome it. it has been previously shown that the D3LS can successfully handle only one or two Signal of interests (SOi). Here, we have developed a new technique where multiple SOi can be handled simultaneously. Numerical simulations have shown that the new approach can maximize the signals from the direction of the SOi at the same time minimizing the jammers. The new approach can be successfully applied in the satellite communications, Over the Horizon Radars (OTHR) as well as wireless communications to detect or track multiple targets simultaneously.

An attempt was made in the present investigation to utilize the vast deposit of rock phosphate （RP） of india by preparing nano RP using modem tool of nano-science and nano-technology for field application to maize crop （Zea mays L.）. To evaluate the efficacy of different nano RP, a field experiment was conducted during kharif season （June to September） of 2012 at india institute of Soil Science （iiSS）, Bhopal, taking maize as a test crop. The experiment consisted of five treatments （control, NK （100%）, NPK （100%）, NK （i00%）＋ 60 kg P205） as nano RP through Udaipur nano RP （34% P205） and Udaipur nano RP （31% P205） were tested in randomized block design with four replications. The results showed that the shelling percentage, 1,000 grain weight, grain and stover yield, etc., were significantly higher in the maize plant treated with Udaipur nano RP （34% P205） as compared to the control, which was being at par with single super phosphate （SSP） treated plants. The total P content and its uptake were higher （0.65% and 40.29 kg/ha） in SSP treated plant, which was closely followed by Udaipur nano RP 34% （0.63% and 38.29 kg/ha） over the control （0.60% and 27.82 kg/ha）. The SSP treated plants had significantly highest apparent P recovery （47.98%） which was comparable to Udaipur nano RP （34% P205）, where as the Udaipur nano RP （31% P205） had the lowest. The additional N and K uptake by the plant was also observed with application of P sources, which were ranged from 16.5 kg/ha to 37.2 kg/ha and 27.9 kg/ha to 64.7 kg/ha under different P treatments. These results showed that crop utilization of P from nano RP was at par with that of P from SSP while yield response to P from nano RP was marginally lower than to P from SSP but serve as a cheaper source.

Evapotranspiration (ET) is an important part of the water cycle. This study reports on the monsoonal influence on the temporal variation in evapotranspiration of an extremely water conservative and salinity stressed tropical mangrove forest at the land-ocean boundary of northeast coast of india. The magnitude and dynamics of evapotranspiration (ET) exhibited seasonality dominated by monsoon and evaporation rate was greater (0.055 ± 0.015 g·m-2·s-1) during the monsoon than in pre-monsoon (0.049 ± 0.018 g·m-2·s-1) and post-monsoon (0.044 ± 0.012 g·m-2·s-1). Seasonal difference in evapotranpiration was mostly due to fluctuation of canopy resistance, which was the minimum during monsoon when relative humidity was greater than in the dry season (pre- and post-monsoon) and deficiency of water supply (ET ≈ ETeq) was minimum. Evapotranspiration in the Sundarban mangrove ecosystem is the predominant biophysical processes that recycles 67.7% of total precipitation annually to the atmosphere, and has significant monsoonal influence.

Objective:To evaluate the synergistic effect ofα-mangostin with tetracycline,erythromycin,and clindamycin against bacteria involved in acne ***:A broth microdilution method was used to determine the minimum inhibitory concentration(miC)ofα-mangostin and a range of *** effects on antibacterial activity were determined based on their own miC,and then using a checkerboard method and a time-kill assay at 37°C for24 ***:α-mangostin exhibited antibacterial activity against Propionibacterium acnes,Staphylococcus aureus,*** and *** with miC values of 0.78,3.13,0.78,and 6.25μg/m L,*** results of the checkerboard assay showed thatα-mangostin produced synergistic effects with tetracycline,erythromycin,and clindamycin against all tested bacteria,with a fractional inhibitory concentration index(FiCi)between 0.09 and ***,time-kill curve data indicated thatα-mangostin increased the antibacterial activity of tetracycline,erythromycin,and ***:These findings suggested thatα-mangostin may be used to enhance the antibacterial activity of some antibiotics against bacteria involved in acne production.

Study the Removal of Fluoride from Aqueous medium by Using Nano-Composites

Endemic fluorosis disease has become a major geo-environmental health care issue caused by fluoride ion. High-efficiency and low-cost materials to uptake fluoride from water have been a chal-lenge for scientists and engineers. Here, we report a low-cost process by utilising low-cost starting materials to develop nanocomposite adsorbents for fluoride uptake from water. Bermuda grass as a starting source material converted into nanocomposite carbon fibers upon heat treatment at 800°C for one hour in Nitrogen atmosphere in the presence of metal oxides. iron oxide-based nanocomposite (iBNC) is performing high (≈97%) removal of fluoride ion at a contact time of 60 minutes (pH 4) followed by titania-based nanocomposite (TBNC) (≈92%) and micro carbon fiber (≈88%) respectively. The phenomenon of fluoride ion uptake is realised by Freundlich adsorption model, and both adsorption capacity and adsorption intensity for iBNC are higher than those for TBNC and micro carbon fiber.
