Therapeutic use of music listening in patients undergoing invasive coronary procedures: A meta-analysis

BACKGROUND Listening to music has been shown to reduce pain and anxiety before, during, and after invasive coronary procedures. AiM To perform a systematic review and meta-analysis to explore the effect of therapeutic use of music on both, perioperative and postoperative outcomes of invasive coronary procedures. METHODS An exhaustive literature search of 3 electronic databases (MEDLiNE, Scopus, Cochrane CENTRAL) was conducted from inception until 10th December 2023. The results of our analyses are presented as standard mean difference (SMD) or weighted mean difference, with 95%Ci and pooled using a random effects model. A P value idered significant in all cases. RESULTS From 21 studies, 2141 participants were included in our analysis. The pooled analysis demonstrated that music listening significantly improves post-procedural pain (SMD = -0.78, 95%Ci: -1.34 to -0.23;P = 0.006), anxiety (SMD = -0.86, 95%Ci: -1.43 to -0.29;P = 0.003), heart rate [mean difference (MD) = -3.38, 95%Ci: -5.51 to -1.25;P = 0.002], and systolic blood pressure (MD = -5.89, 95%Ci: -9.75 to -2.02;P = 0.003). There was no significant improvement in diastolic blood pressure (MD = -3.22, 95%Ci: -6.58 to 0.14;P = 0.06) or respiratory rate (MD = -0.97, 95%Ci: -1.98 to 0.03;P = 0.06). CONCLUSiON Music listening can be used in healthcare settings for patients undergoing invasive coronary procedures to reduce anxiety levels and improve their physiological parameters.

Background:Epilepsy is a disease characterized by unprovoked seizures,and it affects around 70 million people *** treatment is ineffective in one third of all epilepsy *** Lobe Epilepsy with Hippocampal Sclerosis(TLE-HS)is the most drug-resistant form of epilepsy,and it also impacts physical,mental,and psychological well-being of *** carvi extract has demonstrated anti-convulsant,anti-depressant,and anxiolytic *** study was designed to investigate if Carum carvi extract can alleviate depression and memory loss symptoms in a TLE-HS animal ***:Male Sprague Dawley rats were used to create a model of TLE-HS and Carum carvi extract treatment,along with appropriate controls,was used to test the efficacy of this herbal extract in reducing the symptoms of depression and memory ***:Forced swim test showed that Carum carvi extract treated TLE-HS rats resulted in significant improvement of the symptoms of ***,novel object recognition test showed that memory improvement did not ***:Depression significantly impacts the quality of life in TLE-HS patients,and this study has shown that Carum carvi extract should be explored further as an adjuvant treatment for TLE-HS patients to improve their quality of life.

Pyridine-Thiourea Based High Performance Polymers: Synthesis and Characterization

A novel diamine monomer, pyridine-2, 6-bis（（4-aminophenyl）thioureido）carbonyl（PATC） was synthesized efficiently and polymerized with various aromatic dianhydrides. Consequently, poly（pyridine thiourea-imide）s（PPTis） with good thermal properties and flame retardancy were fabricated. The structures of PATC and PPTis were characterized by FTiR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR spectroscopy along with elemental analysis, crystallinity, organosolubility, inherent viscosity and gel permeation chromatographic measurements. PPTis containing C=S, CONH and meta substituted pyridine moieties in the polymer backbone showed amorphous nature and were readily soluble in highly polar organic solvents and even in less polar solvents such as tetrahydrofuran（THF）. Polymers had inherent viscosities in the range of 0.91-1.16 d L/g and molecular weight was found between 68000-77000 g/mol. The electrical properties of the PPTis were estimated in terms of dielectric constant over a range of frequencies. Their thermal stability was determined by 10% weight loss temperature found in the range of 519-563 °C under inert atmosphere. The glass transition temperature of the polyimides varied between 247 °C and 267 °C. The flame retardant properties of PPTis were investigated in terms of limiting oxygen index（LOi） which was found in the range of 38.26-39.95. introduction of thiourea in the polymer backbone is an effective way to improve the thermal stability and flame retardancy. Thus PATC can be considered as an excellent candidate for the synthesis of high performance polymers.

The network infrastructure has evolved rapidly due to the everincreasing volume of users and *** massive number of online devices and users has forced the network to transform and facilitate the operational necessities of *** these necessities,network security is of prime *** intrusion detection systems(NiDS)are among the most suitable approaches to detect anomalies and assaults on a ***,keeping up with the network security requirements is quite challenging due to the constant mutation in attack patterns by the *** paper presents an effective and prevalent framework for NiDS by merging image processing with convolution neural networks(CNN).The proposed framework first converts non-image data from network traffic into images and then further enhances those images by using the Gabor *** images are then classified using a CNN *** assess the efficacy of the recommended method,four benchmark datasets i.e.,CSE-CiC-iDS2018,CiC-iDS-2017,iSCX-iDS 2012,and NSL-KDD were *** proposed approach showed higher precision in contrast with the recent work on the mentioned ***,the proposed method is compared with the recent well-known image processing methods for NiDS.

SmCo5/Fe65Co35 and SmCo5/Fe spring exchange magnets are fabricated by dc magnetron sputtering on MgO substrates and 100-nm-thick Si3N4 membranes, respectively. The base pressure of sputtering chamber is kept below 10^-7 Tort, and Ar pressure is 3 to 8mTorr. The samples are characterized by an x-ray diffractometer, a superconducting quantum interference magnetometer, and high resolution magnetic soft x-ray microscopy. We obtain the complete exchange coupling and single phase behaviour of composite magnets. The （BH）max value achieved is 28.8 MGOe.
