introduction in the present letter we share the results of an analysis of more than 140,000 non traumatic arterial subarachnoid hemorrhages whereas the majority of them is expected to be after aneurysm rupture,in which we investigate a possible correlation of climatic changes and emotional bursts as correlating factors for such a *** We obtained the daily number of SAH from 2006 to 2018 for males and females from the German National statistics *** iCD codes provided to us were i60.1-i60.7,which are SAHs originating from intracranial arteries and excluding traumatic SAH and other not specified *** An increase of mean SAH per day could be seen in winter compared to summer and family events seemed to have a protective effect against aneurysmal *** 6.55 more women per day suffer an SAH compared to *** There is a statistical significant higher risk of aneurysm ruptures in winter and in females,and a statistical lower number in Mother’s day.

Many-body correlations in nuclei determine the behavior of Deep-inelastic-Scattering (DiS) and Quasi-Elastic Scattering (QES) cross section ratios off heavy over light nuclei especially for xBjorken > 1, obtained at Jefferson Lab. They can be described in terms of quark-cluster formation in nuclei due to wave-function overlapping, manifesting itself when the momentum transfer is high so that the partonic degrees of freedom are resolved. in clusters (correlated nucleons) the quark and gluon momentum distributions are softer than in single nucleons and extend to ite-space:normal;">xite-space:normal;">Bjorken > 1. The cluster formation probabilities are computed using a network-defining algorithm in which the initial nucleon density is either standard Woods-Saxon or is input from lower energy data while the critical radius for nucleon merging is an adjustable parameter. The exact choice of critical radius depends on the specific nucleus and it is anti-correlated to the rescaling of the xBjorken needed for bound nucleons. The calculations show that there is a strong dependence of the cross section ratios on the xBjorken in agreement with the data and that four-body correlations are needed to explain the experimental results even in the range 1 xBjorken ific exponents of parton distributions in high-order clusters is weak.

The effect of platform switching on the levels of metal ion release from different implant–abutment couples

The improved peri-implant bone response demonstrated by platform switching may be the result of reduced amounts of metal ions released to the surrounding tissues. The aim of this study was to compare the levels of metal ions released from platform-matched and platform-switched implant-abutment couples as a result of accelerated corrosion. Thirty-six titanium alloy （Ti-6Ai-4V） and cobalt-chrome alloy abutments were coupled with titanium cylinders forming either platform-switched or platform-matched groups （n = 6）. in addition, 18 unconnected samples served as controls. The specimens were subjected to accelerated corrosion by static immersion in 1% lactic acid for 1 week. The amount of metal ions ion of each test tube was measured using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. Scanning electron microscope （SEM） images and energy dispersive spectroscopy X-ray analyses were performed pre- and post-immersion to assess corrosion at the interface. The platform-matched groups demonstrated higher ion release for vanadium, aluminium, cobalt, chrome, and molybdenum compared with the platform-switched groups （P〈 0.05）. Titanium was the highest element to be released regardless of abutment size or connection （P〈0.05）. SEM images showed pitting corrosion prominent on the outer borders of the implant and abutment platform surfaces. in conclusion, implant-abutment couples underwent an active corrosion process resulting in metal ions release into the surrounding environment. The highest amount of metal ions released was recorded for the platform-matched groups, suggesting that platform-switching concept has a positive effect in reducing the levels of metal ion release from the implant-abutment couples.

Endoscopic treatment of biliary complications after liver transplantation

AiM:To evaluate the efficacy of endoscopic treatment in patients who undergo OLTx or LRLTx and develop biliary complications. METHODS:This is a prospective, observational study of patients who developed biliary complications, after OLTx and LRLTx, with duct-to-duct anastomosis performed between June 2003 and June 2007. Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) was considered unsuccessful when there was evidence of continuous bile leakage despite endoscopic stent placement, or persistence of stenosis after 1 year, despite multiple dilatation and stent placement. When the ERCP failed, a percutaneous trans-hepatic approach (PTC) or surgery was adopted. RESULTS: From June 2003 to June 2007, 261 adult patients were transplanted in our institute, 68 from living donors and 193 from cadaveric donors. in the OLTx group the rate of complications was 37.3%, while in the LRLTx group was 64.7%. The rate of ERCP failure was 19.4% in the OLTx group and 38.6% in LRLTx group. in OLTx group, 1 patient was re- transplanted and 8 patients died. in the LRLTx group, 2 patients underwent OLTx and 8 patients died. The follow-up was 23.3 ± 13.13 mo and 21.02 ± 14.10 mo, ***: Although ERCP is quite an effective mode of managing post-transplant bile duct complications, a significant number of patients need other types of approach. Further prospective studies are necessary in order to establish whether other endoscopic protocols or new devices, could improve the current results.

Nutrient and Chlorophyll αVariability at a Micro-Scale Level in a Suspended Mussel Culture

Mussel farming by the long-line system, in the shallow waters of the NW Thessaloniki Gulf, Greece, is a vital economic activity for the local communities. The management practices play an important role both in the environmental quality and the support of the healthy growth of mussels. Αn experimental line of mussels in suspension placed at different sock distances as a management practice was systematically monitored for nutrients, chlorophyll α and dissolved oxygen. The study at four different mussel densities (distances of the socks) lasted from July 2014 to April 2015, covering the growth, reproduction and harvest cycle of mussels. Additional sampling took place in two selected sock distances, 30 and 70 cm, in the second sampling period, May-August 2015. The variability of nutrients along with chlorophyll α and dissolved oxygen, seasonally, spatially and vertically, was examined with the application of multivariate statistical analysis. The results showed low variation of nitrates among the sites but statistically significant differences of dissolved oxygen, ammonium, phosphate and chlorophyll α. The application of environmental indicators (TRiX, Ei) in the data set was a useful tool in the identification of different variation schemes of the measured parameters in the cultures of various mussel densities.
