Forest stands in the semi-arid environment of northern Mongolia have an essential role in controlling ongoing desertification in the surrounding *** the last decade,the total forest area has decreased *** aim of this study was to evaluate the potential of natural regeneration as an essential element for ensuring sustainability of these *** on field measurements from 120 plots in six sites,our assessment tool revealed five qualitative categories of forest regeneration,allowing us to assess impacts of both grazing and environmental conditions on the regeneration *** is a crucial factor and adversely affects *** sites with relatively low grazing intensity,low soil moisture levels represent the main reason for reduced *** approach to classification proposed in this study allows for the identification and interpretation of stand conditions where natural regeneration has *** study provides an important foundation to inform decisionmaking related to land protection and restoration *** findings could be used in comparative studies and,importantly,may aid further mapping of Mongolian forests.

Wheat sharp eyespot, a stem disease caused by the soilborne fungus rhizoctonia cerealis van der Hoeven,has become a threat to wheat production worldwide. Exploiting resistance resources from wild relatives of wheat is a promising strategy for controlling this disease. in this study, a new wheat–Dasypyrum villosum T2Ds·2v#4L translocation line in the background of Chinese spring(Cs) showed stable resistance to r. cerealis. introgression of the T2Ds·2v#4L chromosome into wheat cultivar Aikang 58 by backcrossing produced a marked increase in sharp eyespot resistance in niL-T2Ds·2v#4L in comparison with niLT2Ds·2DL, and no detrimental effects of 2v#4L on agronomic traits were observed in the BC2F2, BC2F2:3,and BC2F2:4generations. Flow-sorted sequencing of 2v#4L yielded 384.3 Mb of assembled sequence, and8836 genes were predicted of which 6154 had orthologs in at least one of the 2AL, 2BL, and 2DL arms of Cs, whereas 1549 genes were unique to 2v#4L. About 100,000 snPs were detected in genes of 2v#4L and2DL in 10 sequenced bread wheat cultivars. A Kompetitive Allele specific Polymerase chain reaction and30 conserved ortholog sequence markers were developed to trace the 2v#4L chromatin in wheat backgrounds. T2Ds·2v#4L compensating translocation lines represent novel germplasm with sharp eyespot resistance and the markers will allow rapid detection in breeding programs.

Traditionally,urbanization has been seen as a negative phenomenon for ***,changes in the environmental parameters induced by urbanization might be favorable for some *** the past half-century,the common hamster has actively populated cities,establishing populations in some European,russian and Kazakhstan *** on integrative methods,we investigated free-range common hamsters inhabiting simferopol from 2015 to 2018 to reveal possible adaptations to the urbanized environment across several parameters,including lifespan,hibernation period,reproductive activity and body *** show that in urban areas,the common hamster demonstrates an extremely short hibernation period compared to other localities,possibly due to enhanced food resources from urban forestry(walnuts,locus and hazelnut),allowing the species to start breeding very early(February)and finish as late as *** present the first evidence of polyandry for this species:mating of receptive females with several males and subsequent confirmation of multiple *** high reproductive potential,the lifespan of the common hamster in urban conditions is generally very short(less than 1 year).We speculate that in the process of synurbization,the common hamster’s innate plasticity across many life history traits permits it to successfully colonize throughout a wide range of habitats,with the ability to form novel adaptations to urban environments.

Polymeric amines are being studied intensively as components of systems for gene delivery in genetic engineering and gene therapy of genetic disorders, including cancer. Despite remarkable achievements in the field, polymeric amines, such as polyethyleneimine, show some disadvantages. strong interaction between the amine-containing polymer and nucleic acid hampers the release of nucleic acid in the cell cytoplasm. Amine groups can interact with the cell membrane which results in cell death. These limitations of polymeric amines stimulated an investigation of new structures for gene delivery. imidazole-containing polymers have attracted attention as lesser basic substances, while they are able to interact with polymeric acids. Further development of imidazole-based gene delivery agents requires knowledge about some fundamental aspects of interaction between nucleic acids, and polymeric imidazoles. in this work, we studied the complexation of poly(1-vinylimidazole) and oligomeric DnA. We found that the number of active sites capable of binding with negatively charged phosphate groups is comparable with the number of protonated imidazole units in the case of high molecular weight polymer. The increase in polymer charge by 1-bromopropane quaternizating 1%?5% imidazole units or by decreasing the pH to 6.5?7 considerably increased the ability of poly(1-vinylimidazole) to interact with oligonucleotides. The pH sensitivity of this interaction is interesting for cancer gene therapy because the tumours have a lowered intercellular pH (stable oligonucleotide complex) and a higher extracellular pH which can lead to complex dissociation. Minimal critical length for complexation of quaternized poly(1-vinylimidazole) and DnA is below eight units which corresponds to polymers with amine groups. The siliceous frustules of diatom algae contain complex proteins known as silaffins, which consist of a peptide chain with grafted polyamine chains. These polyamines contain twenty or more nitrogen atoms with trimethylene groups between the nitrogens. We synthesized a set of polymers containing grafted long-chain polyamine fragments by using acryloyl chloride （ACh） polymers and activated acrylic acid copolymers as the starting materials. The new polymers contained 0.05 mol%-3.2 mol% of polyamine chains, which corresponded to 0.06-3.56 mmol·g- 1 amine groups. The new amine-containing polymers formed complexes with short （19-21-mer） deoxyribonucleic acid （DnA） and ribonucleic acid （rnA） strands, and these complexes penetrated into model yeast cells and A549 lung cancer cell. This study demonstrates the potential of these species based on long-chain polyamines to serve as novel gene delivery systems.

improvement of nutritional and organoleptic quality of fruits is a key goal in current strawberry breeding *** ratio of sugars to acids is a determinant factor contributing to fruit liking,although different sugars and acids contribute in varying degrees to this complex trait.A segregating F1 population of 95 individuals,previously characterized for several fruit quality characters,was used to map during 2 years quantitative trait loci(QTL)for 50 primary metabolites,L-ascorbic acid(L-AA)and other related traits such as soluble solid content(ssC),titratable acidity(TA),and pH.A total of 133 mQTL were detected above the established thresholds for 44 *** 12.9%of QTL were detected in the 2 years,suggesting a large environmental influence on primary metabolite *** objective of this study was the identification of key metabolites that were associated to the overall variation in ssC and *** it was observed in previous studies,a number of QTL controlling several metabolites and traits were co-located in homoeology group v(HG v).mQTL controlling a large variance in raffinose,sucrose,succinic acid,and L-AA were detected in approximate the same chromosomal regions of different homoeologous linkage groups belonging to HG *** genes for selected mQTL are proposed based on their co-localization,on the predicted function,and their differential gene expression among contrasting F1 progeny ***-seq analysis from progeny lines contrasting in L-AA content detected 826 differentially expressed genes and identified Mannose-6-phosphate isomerase,FaM6Pi1,as a candidate gene contributing to natural variation in ascorbic acid in strawberry fruit.

The spatial connections of endogenous deposits with anomalies of the vertical density gradient in lithosphere, calculated on the formulas for the spherical gravity sources are analyzed for Amur Province. The spatial parameters of tin-bearing, tungsten-bearing and gold-bearing regional ore-magmatic systems (ore regions, belts, zones and areas) are characterized by correlation of deep gradient density anomalies in the crust and upper mantle with the extensivity of superficial ore mineralization. Tin-ore deposits are mainly connected with density heterogeneities of the upper crust layer (up to a depth of 20 km), and tungsten, molibdenium and polymetallic deposits-with anomalies of the density gradient in the low crust layer (at a depth of 30 km) and in the upper mantle (at a depth of 60～70 km). Gold-ore regions are characterized by the greatest vertical range of fluid-magmatic systems (about 100 km from the surface) and arethrough ones in relation to mantle and crust tectonic structures. Opportunity is shown for the 3D density gradient model of the Amur Province lithosphere to be applied for constructing the forecast metallogenic models.
