This study is the first to evaluate the phytochemical content and biological properties of Tunisian *** Scop.A total of 23 compounds of essential oils were identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS)analysis of bracts and fruit *** results show that oxygenated monoterpenes were the dominant class of essential *** phenolic composition was investigated by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionizationtime of flight(MALDi-TOF).The analysis showed that the chemical profiles of the ethanolic extracts of bracts and fruits are substantially *** highest polyphenol content was found in the ethanolic extracts of the fruits(7.65 mg gallic acid equivalents(GAE).g−1 on dry weight(DW).As for the antioxidant capacity,it was recorded in the essential oils of the fruits(iC_(50)=0.91 ***^(−1)).The results obtained showed that the antioxidant activity of the fruit essential oil was higher than that of the ethanol *** fruit essential oil was also found to have the highest reducing power(iC_(50)=0.67 ***^(−1)).in terms of iron-chelating power,fruit essential oil has the highest chelating power(iC_(50)=2.03 ***^(−1)).Compared to the ethanolic extract,the essential oil had the maximum antioxidant *** enzymatic activity of acetylcholinesterase(AChE)inhibition of the essential oil from *** bracts had the most potent inhibitory effect(iC_(50)=0.77 ***^(−1)),followed by the essential oil from the fruits(iC_(50)=0.95 ***^(−1)).The results suggest that *** can be used as a potential source of naturally occurring bioactive compounds and antioxidants.

Salvia microphylla and Teucrium polium are medicinal and aromatic plants with ethnobotanical *** present study was conducted to investigate the chemical composition of Salvia microphylla and Teucrium polium essential oils,the secondary metabolites,and the biological activities of their infusion and methanolic(MeOH)*** oils were extracted by hydrodistillation from shoots Salvia microphylla and Teucrium *** content,antioxidant and antimicrobial activities were *** chromatography-mass spectrometry(GCMS)results showed the presence of significant qualitative and quantitative variations for the composition of the both essential oils(EO).Salvia microphylla EO were most complex and present 70 compounds with the major components wereβ-caryophyllene(13.32%),1,8 cineole(11.25%),Cis p-Menthane-3-one(10.74%),andβ-Selinenol(9.71%).Where in the Teucrium polium EO,45 compounds were identified with the important components areβ-cadinene(10%),β-citronellol(8.5%),Carvacrol(7.63%),and Eugenol(7.15%).Obtained results showed that both plant are very rich in secondary *** isolated from Salvia microphylla presented the highest contents in the phenolic compound than extracted from Teucrium *** antioxidant activity data demonstrated that all extracts showed strong antioxidant and radical scavenging *** oil and methanol extracts presented a potential for antimicrobial activities against all tested *** obtained results highlight the potential use of Salvia microphylla and Teucrium polium as possible natural antioxidant substances and sources of bioactive molecules.

We propose a semi-analytical modeling of smoothed laser beam deviation induced by plasma *** on a Gaussian description of speckles,the model includes spatial,temporal,and polarization smoothing techniques,through fits coming from hydrodynamic simulations with a paraxial description of electromagnetic *** beam bending model is then incorporated into a ray tracing algorithm and carefully *** applied as a post-process to the propagation of the inner cone in a full-scale simulation of a National ignition Facility(NiF)experiment,the beam bending along the path of the laser affects the refraction conditions inside the hohlraum and the energy deposition,and could explain some anomalous refraction measurements,namely,the so-called glint observed in some NiF experiments.

Laser-driven neutron sources could offer a promising alternative to those based on conventional accelerator technologies in delivering compact beams of high brightness and short *** examine this through particle-in-cell and Monte Carlo simulations that model,respectively,the laser acceleration of protons from thin-foil targets and their subsequent conversion into neutrons in secondary lead *** parameters relevant to the 0.5 PW LMJ-PETAL and 0.6–6 PW Apollon systems are *** to its high intensity,the 20-fs-duration 0.6 PW Apollon laser is expected to accelerate protons up to above 100MeV,thereby unlocking efficient neutron generation via spallation *** a result,despite a 30-fold lower pulse energy than the LMJ-PETAL laser,the 0.6 PW Apollon laser should perform comparably well both in terms of neutron yield and ***,we predict that very compact neutron pulses,of∼10 ps duration and∼100μm spot size,can be released provided the lead convertor target is thin enough(∼100μm).These sources are characterized by extreme fluxes,of the order of 10^(23) n cm^(−2) s^(−1),and even ten times higher when using the 6 PW Apollon *** values surpass those currently achievable at large-scale accelerator-based neutron sources(∼10^(16) n cm^(−2) s^(−1)),or reported from previous laser experiments using low-Z converters(∼10^(18) n cm^(−2) s^(−1)).By showing that such laser systems can produce neutron pulses significantly brighter than existing sources,our findings open a path toward attractive novel applications,such as flash neutron radiography and laboratory studies of heavy-ion nucleosynthesis.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis（ALS）, identified as a distinct clinical entity by Charcot since the end of the nineteenth century, is a devastating and fatal neurodegenerative disorder that affects motor neurons in the brain, brainstem and spinal cord. Survival of patients with ALS is associated with several factors such as clinical phenotype, age at onset, gender, early presence of respiratory failure, weight loss and treatment with Riluzole（the only disease-modifying drug approved for this disease）. Nowadays, there is still no curative treatment for ALS： palliative care and symptomatic treatment are therefore essential components in the management of these patients. Nevertheless, the scientific knowledge in the field of ALS motor neuron degeneration is growing, with the prospect of new treatments. Based on this physiopathological knowledge, several new therapeutic targets are being studied, involving various mechanisms such as excitotoxicity, neuroinflammation, mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative stress, RNA metabolism and other attractive concepts. Moreover, it is also important to identify reliable biomarkers that will be essential components for future therapeutic development and study design in ALS. in this review, we present the main recent advances and promising therapeutics and biomarkers in the field of ALS.

BACKGROUND:To physiologically reconstruct the biliary tract,Crema et al suggested the application of the Monti principle to the biliary tract,already used in humans for the urinary *** this technique,a jejunal segment is transversely *** study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of jejunal tube interposition between the common bile duct and duodenum in ***:Thirteen dogs underwent a laparoscopic common bile duct ligature,followed by a biliodigestive connection by jejunal tube interposition after one *** levels of glutamic-pyruvic and glutamic-oxalacetic transaminases,total bilirubins,alkaline phosphatase and gamma-glutamyltransferase were assessed before surgery and thereafter weekly until euthanasia,which was performed 6 weeks after biliodigestive ***:Data on 9 dogs were analyzed *** dogs presented with obstructive jaundice after common bile duct ligature,as confirmed by biochemical *** showed a statistically significant reduction in cholestasis after biliodigestive connection by jejunal tube interposition and were healthy until the end of the ***:A statistically significant reduction was seen in total bilirubin and canalicular enzymes(alkaline phosphatase and gamma-glutamyltransferase)in the 9 dogs 6 weeks after biliodigestive connetion by jejunal tube interposition.

On the improvement of Wind Power Predictions Based on Terrain Characteristics and Measurements of the Annual Energy Production

The assessment of the production capacity of wind farms is a crucial step in wind farm design processes, where a poor assessment can cause significant economic losses. Data from Canadian wind farms benefiting from national production incentive programs show that wind farms are typically characterized by an overestimation of the production capacity. in this context, a study has been done to provide insight on the origin of the discrepancies between the energy production estimates and the measured energy generation, and to develop a method to reduce these discrepancies. To this end, the WAsP and MS-Micro models have been studied. Besides the wind speed measurements, topography indices have been developed to identify the influence of the various characteristics of the site on the error in the annual energy production (AEP). in addition, roughness classes have been created, including a reference roughness and a roughness complexity. The indices have also allowed establishing correlations and developing equations to evaluate the error based on the site characteristics and the positions of wind turbines on the measured annual energy production. An average reduction of up to 83% on the AEP errors was obtained when the methodology was applied to five wind farms in Canada.

in previous work, we have analyzed the feasibility of the estimation for a source term S（x, y, z） in a transversal section, The present study is concerned with a twodimensional inverse phase change problem. The goal is the estimation of the dissipated heat flux in the liquid zone （reconstruction of a source term in the energy equation） from experimentally measured temperatures in the solid zone. This work has an application in the electron beam welding of steels of thickness about 8cm. The direct thermometallurgical problem is treated in a quasi steady two-dimensional longitudinal section （x, y）. The beam displacement is normally in the y direction. But in the quasi steady simulation, the beam is steady in the study section. The sample is divided in the axial direction z in few sections. At each section, a source term is defined with a part of the beam and creates a vaporized zone and a fused zone. The goal of this work is the rebuilding of the complete source term with the estimations at each section. in this paper, we analyze the feasibility of the estimation. For this work, we use only the simulated measurements without noise.
