Biomechanics of posterior shoulder instability-current knowledge and literature review

Posterior instability of the shoulder is a rare condition and represents about 10% of shoulder instability. it has become more frequently recognized in the last year,even though it is more difficult to diagnose than anterior shoulder instability. As this form of shoulder pathology is somewhat rare,biomechanical knowledge is limited. The purpose of our study was to perform an extensive literature search,including PubMed and Medline,and to give an overview of the current knowledge on the biomechanics of posterior shoulder instability. The Pub Med/Medline databases were utilized,and all articles related to posterior shoulder instability and biomechanics were included to form a comprehensive compilation of current knowledge. A total of 93 articles were deemed relevant according to our inclusion and exclusion criteria. As expected with any newly acknowledged pathology,biomechanical studies on posterior shoulder instability remain limited in the literature. Current biomechanical models are performed in a static manner,which limits their translation for explaining a dynamic pathology. Newer models should incorporate dynamic stabiliza-tion of both the rotator cuff and scapulothoracic joint. There is a current lack of knowledge with regards to the pathomechanism of posterior shoulder instability,with no consensus on appropriate treatment regimens. Further investigation is therefore required at both basic science and clinical levels.

We present a new experimental platform for studying laboratory astrophysics that combines a high-intensity, highrepetition-rate laser with the Large Plasma Device at the University of California, Los Angeles. To demonstrate the utility of this platform, we show the first results of volumetric, highly repeatable magnetic field and electrostatic potential measurements, along with derived quantities of electric field, charge density and current density, of the interaction between a super-Alfv′enic laser-produced plasma and an ambient, magnetized plasma.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a global call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity. There are 17 SDGs in all, these on the one hand, are based on the idea that economic development, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability are all essential for a healthy and sustainable world, and on the other hand, they provide a framework for governments, businesses, and civil society to work together to achieve common goals. And they are a reminder that we all have a responsibility to protect our planet and its people. One of the most pressing and urgent goals is SDG 13 - Climate Action. Climate change is a global challenge that affects the entire world, urgent action is needed to combat climate change and its impacts. The rapid rise of the fight against climate change reflects an increased interest among specialists. This research deals rigorously with a wide range of dilemmas, which have arisen over time. The research aims to reveal new actions, in order to combat current and future climate change obstacles. The main goal is to bring out the quality of policies and programs in the field of climate change. The results of this research should provide new directions in the development of new policies and programs, in order to help governments, businesses and civil society work together to achieve common goals. The results obtained by specialists, should be a reminder that we all have a responsibility to protect our planet and its people.

Causes and Effects of Stillbirths on Days Open and Cow Herd Survival in Holstein Friesian Cows

The aim of this retrospective study was to investigate the causes and the effects of stillbirth on the number of days open and cow herd survival in subsequent lactation of Holstein Friesian cows. A total of 1371 calvings from research dairy farm were used. Stillbirth in calves was defined as the death of a fetus before or during calving at full term (≥270 days of gestation) or within 24 hours after calving. During the period from January 2006 to December 2017 a percent of 95.04% of the calvings were with live calves, and 4.96% of the calvings were stillbirths. The major causes of stillbirth identified were: calving difficulty, parity of the cows, and sex of the calves at calving. A five point scale was used to assess calving difficulties, and numbers 1, 2 and 3 were considered unassisted calvings and number 4 and 5 as assisted. The twin calvings were not taken into account. Days open were measured as days from first calving to conception, and cow herd survival from first calving to culling or death. Trend test and multivariate data analysis were used. The findings revealed that primiparous cows were at higher risk of having stillbirths compared with multiparous cows. Cows that were at calving male calves were at higher risk of having stillbirths compared with cows that had female calves at calving. Also, cows with assisted calving were at higher risk of having stillbirths compared with cows with unassisted calvings. Cows with stillbirths had a increase mean of days open with 32 days. Cow herd survival was better in the cows with live calves at calving compared with the cows that had stillbirth at calvings.

Maxwell-Vlasov PDEs system describes the dynamics of plasma consisting of charged particles with long-range inter-action. Their solutions can be written using some Stokes potentials. Section 1 presents the experimental devices which can produce a magnetic trap. Magnetic geometric dynamic provides mathematical tools for describing the magnetic flow (see [1-7]). Stokes representation for the solutions of PDEs as Maxwell PDEs or Maxwell-Vlasov PDEs are used analyzing electromagnetic energy in magnetic traps. Section 2 studies Maxwell-Vlasov PDEs system. Stokes represen-tation of its solutions, using Maximum Principle for a multitime optimal control problem, is obtained. Section 3 dis-cusses a method for changing a given ODEs system into a geodesic motion under a gyroscopic field of forces (geomet-ric dynamics). Section 4 proposes a modified form for Maxwell-Vlasov PDEs, by replacing the classical gyroscopic force with the one appearing in geometric dynamics. Stokes representation for the solutions of modified Max-well-Vlasov PDEs is also obtained.

Udder Health Status of First Parity Dairy Cows in Early-Lactation Based on Somatic Cell Count Categories

The main aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of intramammary infection (iMi) in early-lactation of primiparous cows using milk recording cow composite somatic cell count (CSCC) categories (combining the first 2 milk recording results after calving). Another aim was to evaluate the milk urea (MU) content as a potential supplementary indicator to SCC or CSCC for the identification of iMi in primiparous cows after calving. This retrospective observational study was conducted on records of test-day of primiparous cows over a period of 6 years (January 2016 to December 2021. The SCC data for 158 Holstein Friesian primiparous cows, with their first milk recording 5 to 35 days after calving and their second milk recording 28 to 56 days in milk (DiM), were identified. Each primiparous cow was assigned a CSCC category (low-low, low-high, high-low or high-high) based on the CSCC at the first 2 milking recordings using the following cut-offs: ≤150,000 cells/ml (low), >150,000 cells/ml (high). The association between CSCC categories and MV content was analyzed using correlation models. At the first milk recording, a proportion of 63.29% was in the low SCC category, and the rest (36.71%) was in the high SCC category. At the second milk recording, a proportion of primiparous cows in CSCC categories was 59.49%, 3.80%, 27.85% and 8.86% in low-low, low-high, high-low and high-high, respectively. At the second milk recording, a proportion of 12.66% of primiparous cows was in the high CSCC category and a proportion of 87.34% of primiparous cows was in the low CSCC category, indicating a poor and a good udder health, respectively. The association of SCC with MU content in low and in high SCC categories at the first milk recording was positive and moderate (+0.49) and negative and strong (-0.97), respectively. The aim of this of this experimental study to investigate the effect of 3 voluntary waiting periods (VWP) on health of dairy cows. A total of 100 lactations of 100 Holstein Friesian cows with high milk production (average 9.442 ± 620 kg) were randomly (based on the ear tags digits of cows) distributed to 1 to 3 experimental groups with VWP of 50 (VWPG50;n = 32), 100 (VWPG100;n = 34) or 150 days (VWPG150;n = 34). Observations relating to diseases of the cows were made by the farm veterinarian and research personnel. Were defined eight disease: puerperal fever, retained fetal membranes, displaced abomasum, metritis, clinical ketosis, clinical mastitis, ovarian cysts, and claw diseases. The experimental days (ED) were from 4 days in milk (DiM) to 100 days after the next calving. The experiment was managed at Dairy Research Farm ?imnic-Craiova January 2018 to December 2022. A clear set of clinical signs were used to define a case at the diseases without the need for laboratory confirmation. Values of Lactational incidence risk (LiR) median postpartum days at diagnosis and pairwise comparison of proportion between VWPs were calculated. LiR for puerperal fiver, retained fetal membranes, displaced abomasum, clinical ketosis, clinical mastitis, ovarian cysts and claw disease were 4;5;2;8;8;and 4% respectively. Numerically, cows with VWP of 100 and150 days had more disease cases compared with VWP of 50 days. The differences between experimental groups of cows regarding proportions of cows with disease cases were not statistically significant. Any of the eight disorders reported in this study was analyzed independently to other health problems. For all enrolled cows (n = 100) VWP was extended until 100 or 150 days postpartum with no effect on the lactational incidence risk for the eight disorders analyzed.
