A systematic laboratory study was conducted on current efficiency and corrosion obtained in cryolite-alumina melts with SnO2-Sb203-CuO ceramic inert anodes. The current efficiency （CE） was determined by measuring the total amount of oxygen evolved at the anode and was found to be ~ 95%. The influence of operating parameters （inter-elec- trode distance, temperature and current density） was evaluated. The quantitative interdependencies as well as the ranges of CE optima[ values were established （2-3 cm, 940-960 ℃ and 0.7-0.8 *** 2）. The corrosion process of these anodes was evaluated by the mass loss method. The evaluation also took care of the corrosion data, as the prob- lem of the anode corrosion appeared to be the main obstacle for the use of those anodes in the commercial ***-ering of the ACD up to 2 cm did not aggravate anode corrosion.

The basement of the Romanian Carpathians is made of Neoproterozoic to early Paleozoic peri- Gondwanan terranes variably involved in the Variscan orogeny, similarly to other basement terrains of Europe. They were hardly dismembered during the Alpine orogeny and traditionally have their own names in the three Carpathian areas. The Danubian domain of the South Carpathians comprises the Dragsan and Lainici-Paiius peri-Amazonian terranes. The Dragsan terrane originated within the ocean surrounding Rodinia and docked with Rodinia at -800 Ma. it does not contain Cadomian magmatism and consequently it is classified as an Avalonian extra-Cadomian terrane, The Lainici-Pfiius terrane is a Ganderian fragment strongly modified by Cadomian subduction-related magmatism, it is attached to the Moesia platform. The TisoviD terrane is an ophiolite that marks the boundary between Drfagsan and Lainici-Paius terranes. The other basement terranes of the Romanian Carpathians originated close to the Ordovician North- African orogen, as a result of the eastern Rheic Ocean opening and closure. Except for the Sebes-Lotru terrane that includes a lower metamorphic unit of Cadomian age, all the other terranes （Bretila, Tulghes, Negrisoara and Rebra in the East Carpathians, Somes, Biharia and Baia de Aries in the Apuseni mountains, Fagaras, Leaota, Carat and Pades in the South Carpathians） represent late Cambrian-Ordovician rock assemblages. Their provenance, is probably within paleo-nortbeast Africa, close to the Arabian-Nubian shield. The late Cambrian-Ordovician terranes are defined here as Carpathian-type terranes. The Sagaing Fault is a major tectonic structure between the indian Plate and Sunda Plate. The fault measures 1200 km along north-south and cuts through the centre of Myanmar. Many urban areas lie along the fault. As a result, Myanmar has established a continuous Global Positioning System （cGPS） network across the Sagaing Fault since 2011. The cGPS network consists of eight cGPS stations that form two transects across the fault. The data analysis covers a period of four years from 2011 to 2014. GAMiT, GLOBK, and TRACK software suite packages are used for GPS data processing and analysis. This study consists of two main objectives. The first objective is to analyse the Myanmar cGPS network ob- servations in order to measure the moving rate and direction of movement for each cGPS station using GAMiT/GLOBK software packages. The second objective is to investigate the co-seismic moving rate associated with the earthquake event using TRACK kinematic positioning program. The analysis results indicate that the east side of the Sagaing Fault moves southeastward at the average rate of approximately 32-40 mm/a, whereas the west side of the fault moves northeastward at the rate of about 31-35 mm/a. For co-seismic analysis, two cGPS stations are analysed in connection with the 2012 M6.8 Thabeikkyin earthquake. These stations are located 50-60 km away from the epicentre. The GPS data analysis clearly showed that the station at the east side of the Sagaing Fault immediately moved south by 15.0 cm, whereas the station at the west side of the fault moved north by 3.0 cm. in conclusion, this study demonstrates that the Sagaing Fault＇s tectonic activities can be monitored by cGPS observations using geodetic processing techniques. We believe that such investigation brings contribution to better understand of the tectonic activities in Myanmar and South East Asia.

The recovery of metals from a multi-component alloy obtained by crushing, melting and anodic dissolution of waste from electric and electronic equipment（WEEE） was investigated. The anodic dissolution of the alloy was carried out in an electrolysis cell with one copper cathode and a central cast anode, immersed in the electrolyte formed by choline chloride-ethylene glycol-iodine. The temperature of the electrolyte during the process was 343 K. Depending on the electrolysis parameters（current density and cell voltage）, cathodic deposits of Sn, Pb and Zn of 〉99% purity were obtained. Cyclic voltammetry was used in order to determine the deposition potentials of the studied metals. The obtained metallic deposits were subject of determination of XRD, SEM/EDX and AFM in order to evidence the deposits structure and morphology. The experiments performed demonstrated the possibility of separating/selective recovery of metals from the multi-component alloy resulted from the waste from electrical and electronic equipment by anodic dissolution in ionic liquids.

Patients with prosthetic cardiac valves are at high risk for thromboembolic complications and need life long anticoagulation with warfarin, which can be associated with variable dose requirements and fluctuating level of systemic anticoagulation and may predispose to thromboembolic and or hemorrhagic complications. Prosthetic cardiac valve thrombosis is associated with high morbidity and mortality. A high index of suspicion is essential for prompt diagnosis. Transthoracic echocardiography, and if required transesophageal echocardiography are the main diagnostic imaging modalities. Medically stable patients can be managed with thrombolytic therapy and anticoagulation, while some patients may require surgical thrombectomy or valve replacement. We present a case report of a patient with prosthetic mitral valve and an unusually large left atrial thrombus with both thromboembolic and hemorrhagic complications.

The current challenges that society faces call for actions fostering climate change adaptation and long-term sustainability grounded in effective policies. Consequently, to raise environmental resilience and sustain human wellbeing, we need to overhaul the policy-making process towards a ‘holistic approach’. The nexus approach has proven a valuable tool for identifying gaps and incoherencies in current policies, for understanding major interlinkages across sectors and scales, and for promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Nevertheless, a ‘silo approach’ to decision making currently prevails, thus achieving cross-sectoral and cross-scale harmonization still remains a challenge in policy-making. in response to this challenge, the next step in the science–policy–practice interface is to integrate the nexus approach in the ‘climate services’ arena, in order to support integrated policies. Climate services embody a bridge between researchers and stakeholders, and by supporting integrated policies they will ensure synergies between sectors and scales, reduce potential trade-offs, and enable co-benefits.

BACKGROUND Primary choriocarcinoma of the stomach (PCCS) is a rare tumor, with fewer than 60 cases published in the English-language literature up to December 2018. in this paper, we present the complex immunoprofile of one PCCS and a hypothesis regarding its histogenesis. CASE SUMMARY A 66-year-old previously healthy male underwent an emergency palliative gastrectomy for a gastric obstructive tumor. The histologic examination and immunoprofile of tumor cells showed a mixed tumor that consisted of choriocarcinoma (90%) and moderate differentiated adenocarcinoma (10%), with hepatic metastases (Stage pT2NxM1L1V1R0) and microsatelite stable status. The patient died one month after surgery. The tumor cells showed focal positivity for CDX2 (adenocarcinoma component), HCG (choriocarcinoma) and CD138 (plasmacytoid carcinoma component) and were negative for HER-2,α- fetoprotein, VEGF, maspin and markers of epithelial-mesenchymal transition. The gastric mucosa cells displayed positivity for CDX2, Hepar A and CD138. The complex immunoprofile and literature data synthesis prove that the gastric mucosa cells can present a multilineage differentiation. CONCLUSiON PCCS should be considered as an aggressive variant of microsatellite stable gastric adenocarcinoma of an epithelial type, and not a germ cell tumor.

Four sample sets of the Upper and Middle Loire river sands were analyzed in order to study the impact of natural and anthropogenic factors on their petrographic composition in space(on an 800 km stretch) and *** was determined by modal analysis of three sand-size fractions using a polarizing optical microscope and calculated for each sample("standard sand" = Sst).The watershed is composed mainly of endogenic(Massif Central) and sedimentary(southern Parisian Basin) rocks.B-set sands collected in channels for different water flows in 1996 show that Sst compositions vary by only 5%.Present-day sands in the Upper Loire and Middle Loire have very high petrographic immaturity comparing to others worldwide fluvial sands,although bio-climatic conditions favor sand maturation by source-rock weathering in the *** shows the strong impact of the Massif Central on sediment yield due to relief rejuvenation as a consequence of the formation of the Alps during the *** sands stored during the Weichselian and the Holocene in the Middle Loire floodplain,although partly weathered since their deposition,show higher inputs from the endogenic rocks of the Massif Central than present-day *** can be explained by Weichselian periglacial conditions and the development of crop farming since the Neolithic,which favored mechanical erosion,particularly in the Massif Central which is characterized by a cold,humid climate and steep *** upstream-downstream change in the composition of presently deposited sand is low in the diked *** shows however that basalt and some heavy mineral grains are vulnerable to abrasion during transport and indicates a marked sediment yield from ancient sediment stored in the *** is in line with the high incision of the river bed over the last 150 years partly due to dam construction and aggregate mining.
