BACKGROUND Urticaria is one of the most common causes of emergency room *** is defined as an acute inflammatory dermatosis,characterized by localized degranulation of mast cells,with consequent dermal microvascular and formation of edematous and pruritic plaques called *** affects the skin and tissues of the superficial *** it is accompanied by angioedema,which is characterized by deeper edema of the dermis and subcutaneous cellular tissue known as the urticarial-angioedema *** 15%-25%of the general population has suffered at least one type of urticaria at some point during their lifetime and hyperpermeability estimated at 7.6%-16%and has experienced acute urticaria that is usually self-limited and spontaneously resolves without requiring medical *** SUMMARY We present the case of a young male patient who was referred to our department with a clinical picture of 4 mo of pruritus associated with hives of variable sizes,irregular borders,with interlesional confluence,that were non-painful,without involvement of the palms and soles of the feet but with a tendency to progression in a generalized *** had multiple emergency room visits and poor response to antihistamines and systemic *** studies demonstrated nodules in the lower lingula segment,at the level of the greater fissure and in the anterior contour of the left anterior basal segment associated with parahiliar adenopathies in the absence of findings suggestive of infectious or autoimmune *** lobectomy was performed by thoracoscopy with resection of a lung nodule in the lingula and biopsy of the para-aortic mediastinal *** histopathological report showed the presence of poorly differentiated invasive adenocarcinoma with a solid morphological and acinar pattern with immunohistochemical description of lung tissue that expresses strong positive and diffuse reaction for thyroid transcription factor 1(TTF-1)with negati

Photoproduction of mesons off the deuteron has been investigated at a tagged photon beam of the Bonn ELSA accelerator with the combined Crystal Barrel - TAPS electromagnetic calorimeter for incident photon energies up to 2.5 GeV. The mesons have been detected in coincidence with recoil protons, neutrons and deuterons. This allow the measurement of meson production reactions off the quasifree nucleons bound in the deutron, as well as the coherent production off the deuteron. The comparison of quasifree proton reactions to free proton reactions can confirm or invalidate possible nuclear effects on the extracted cross section reactions. Furthermore the isospin composition of a resonance can be estimated from the comparison of quasifree proton and neutron reactions. The quasifree photoproduction of the η＇ and π°η mesons off nucleons and the coherent photoproduction of π°η--pairs off the deuteron are discussed.

We present the recent new developments of time-dependent Schrödinger equation and time-dependent density-functional theory for accurate and efficient treatment of the electronic structure and time-dependent quantum dynamics of many-electron atomic and molecular systems in intense laser *** extend time-dependent generalized pseudospectral(TDGPS)numerical method developed for time-dependent wave equations in multielectron *** TDGPS method allows us to obtain highly accurate time-dependent wave functions with the use of only a modest number of spatial grid point for complex quantum dynamical *** usefulness of these procedures is illustrated by a few case studies of atomic and molecular processes of current interests in intense laser fields,including multiphoton ionization,above-threshold ionization,high-order harmonic generation,attosecond pulse generation,and quantum dynamical processes related to multielectron *** conclude this paper with some open questions and perspectives of multiphoton quantum dynamics of many-electron atomic and molecular systems in intense laser fields.

Employing the Pekeris-type approximation to deal with the pseudo-centrifugal term,we analytically study the pseudospin symmetry of a Dirac nucleon subjected to equal scalar and vector modified Rosen-Morse potential including the spin-orbit coupling term by using the Nikiforov-Uvarov method and supersymmetric quantum mechanics *** complex eigenvalue equation and the total normalized wave functions expressed in terms of Jacobi polynomial with arbitrary spin-orbit coupling quantum number k are presented under the condition of pseudospin *** eigenvalue equations for both methods reproduce the same result to affirm the mathematical accuracy of analytical *** numerical solutions obtained for different adjustable parameters produce degeneracies for some quantum number.

This paper presents an experimental investigation of the mechanical and tribological properties of Cu-graphene nanosheets(GN)*** employed the electroless coating process to coat GNs with Ag particles to avoid its reaction with Cu and the formation of intermetallic *** analyzed the effect of GN content on the structural,mechanical,and tribological properties of the produced *** showed that the electroless coating process is an efficient technique to avoid the reaction between Cu and C and the formation of intermetallic *** addition of GNs significantly improves the mechanical and tribological properties of Cu ***,the addition of GNs needs to be done carefully because,after a certain threshold value,the mechanical and tribological properties are negatively *** optimum GN content is determined to be 0.5vol%,at which hardness,wear rate,and coefficient of friction are im-proved by 13%,81.9%,and 49.8%,respectively,compared with Cu *** improved properties are due to the reduced crys-tallite size,presence of GNs,and homogenous distribution of the composite constituents.

Loco-regional recurrences and distant metastases represent the main cause of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC) mortality. The overexpression of chemokine receptor 4(CXCR4) in HNSCC primary tumors associates with higher risk of developing loco-regional recurrences and distant metastases, thus making CXCR4 an ideal entry pathway for targeted drug delivery. in this context, our group has generated the self-assembling protein nanocarrier T22-GFP-H6, displaying multiple T22 peptidic ligands that specifically target CXCR4. This study aimed to validate T22-GFP-H6 as a suitable nanocarrier to selectively deliver cytotoxic agents to CXCR4^(+)tumors in a HNSCC model. Here we demonstrate that T22-GFP-H6 selectively internalizes in CXCR4^(+)HNSCC cells, achieving a high accumulation in CXCR4^(+)tumors in vivo, while showing negligible nanocarrier distribution in non-tumor bearing organs. Moreover, this T22-empowered nanocarrier can incorporate bacterial toxin domains to generate therapeutic nanotoxins that induce cell death in CXCR4-overexpressing tumors in the absence of histological alterations in normal organs. Altogether, these results show the potential use of this T22-empowered nanocarrier platform to incorporate polypeptidic domains of choice to selectively eliminate CXCR4^(+)cells in HNSCC. Remarkably, to our knowledge, this is the first study testing targeted proteinonly nanoparticles in this cancer type, which may represent a novel treatment approach for HNSCC patients.

The effect of Zn-Si3 N4 deposition prepared via direct electrolytic co-deposition on mild steel was studied as a result its inherent vulnerability to corrosion in an aggressive environment and failure on the application of *** experiment was conducted varying the mass concentration of silicon nitride(Si3 N4)between 7 and 13 gat cell voltage of 0.3 and 0.5 V,at constant temperature of 45℃.The morphologies of the coated surfaces were characterized using high resolution Nikon Optical Microscope and Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM)revealing that the particles of the Zn-Si3 N4 were homogeneously *** corrosion behaviour was studied using potentiodynamic polarization technique in 3.65%NaCl solution and the microhardness was examined using Brinell hardness testing *** result of the corrosion experiment confirmed an improved corrosion resistance with a reduction in corrosion rate from 9.7425 mm/year to 0.10847 mm/year,maximum coating efficiency of 98.9%,maximum polarization resistance of 1555.3 Ω and a very low current density of 9.33 × 10-6A/*** negative shift in the Ecorr revealed the cathodic protective nature of the *** microhardness was also found to have increased from 137.9 HBN for the unmodified steel to a maximum value of 263.3 HBN for the0.5 Zn-13 Si3 N4 coated steel representing 90.9% increment in hardness as a result of the matrix grain refining and dispersion-strengthening ability of the incorporated Si3 N4 particles.

The flow-field of a fuel/air mixing system with an axisymmetric lobed mixer was numerically investigated. Large-scale streamwise vortices are formed immediately downstream of the mixer trailing edge, stretched further downstream, and finally broken into fragments where more intense mixing occurs. Both numerical and experimental results indicate that the length required for streamwise vortices breakdown in the confined flow-field of an axisymmetric lobed mixer is much shorter than that in the case of planar lobed mixers subject to parallel freestreams. For the conditions studied, the streamwise vortices start to breakdown at three wavelengths downstream of the mixer trailing edge.
