in the present work, 6082 Al alloy has been rolled to 40% and 70% thickness reductions at the cryogenic and room temperatures for the improvement in mechanical and fracture toughness properties. All cryorolled samples are subjected to aging at different temperatures, i.e., 140, 160, and 190 ℃ to improve the strength, ductility, and fracture toughness. The microstructures of the cryorolled （CR） and room temperature rolled （RTR） alloy after 40% and 70% thickness reductions are characterized by FE-SEM to reveal the modes of failure. The results show that the starting bulk Al alloy specimen is fractured in total ductile manner, consisting of well-developed dimples over the entire surface. The mechanical properties and fracture toughness of the 70% CR alloy are found better than 70% RTR alloy due to higher dislocations density and formation of sub-grain structures in the CR alloy.

The reflection and refraction of a longitudinal wave at an interface between a perfectly conducting nonviscous liquid half-space and a perfectly conducting microstretch elastic solid half-space are studied. The appropriate solutions to the governing equations are obtained in both the half-spaces satisfying the required boundary conditions at the interface to obtain a system of five non-homogeneous equations in the amplitude ratios of various reflected and transmitted waves. The system is solved by a Fortran program of the Gauss elimination method for a particular example of an interface between water and aluminum-epoxy composite. Numerical values of the amplitude ratios are computed for a certain range of the incidence angle both in the presence and absence of an impressed transverse magnetic field. The effects of the presence of the transverse magnetic field on the amplitude ratios of various reflected and transmitted waves are shown graphically.

The overlying early Eocene succession possibly deposited in a coastal system,where carbonates represent barriers and shales represent ***-section,the middle Eocene marl beds likely deposited on a tidal *** late Eocene/Oligocene basal Murree beds,containing tidal bundles,indicate that a mixed or semi-diurnal tidal system deposited the sediments and the sedimentation took place in a tidedominated *** the higher-up,the succession likely deposited in a river-dominated estuary or in meandering *** the beginning of the basin evolution,the sediments were derived from the Precambrian basement or from the metasediments/volcanic rocks possessing terrains of the *** early and middle Eocene（54.7-41.3 Ma） succession of the embryonic foreland possibly developed from the sediments derived from the Trans-Himalayan schists and phyllites and indus ophiolite of the north during syn-collisional *** detrital minerals especially the lithic fragments and the heavy minerals suggest the provenance for the late Eocene/Oligocene sequences to be from the recycled orogenic belt of the Higher Himalaya,Tethyan Himalaya and the indus-suture zone from the north during post-collisional *** is also supported by the paleocurrent measurements those suggest main flows directed towards sou

in this paper, elasto-plastic XFEM simulations have been performed to evaluate the fatigue life of plane crack problems in the presence of various defects. The stress-strain response of the material is modeled by Ramberg-Osgood equation. The von-Mises failure criterion has been used with isotropic hardening. The J-integral for two fracture modes (mode-i and mode-ii) is obtained by decomposing the displacement and stress fields into their symmetric and antisymmetric parts, then individual stress intensity factors are extracted from J-integral. The fatigue life obtained by EPFM is found quite close to that obtained by LEFM.

in india, land resources have reached a critical stage due to the rapidly growing population. This challenge requires an integrated approach toward harnes- sing land resources, while taking into account the vulnerable environmental conditions. Remote sensing and Geographical information System （GiS） based technologies may be applied to an area in order to generate a sustainable development plan that is optimally suited to the terrain and to the productive potential of the local resources. The present study area is a part of the middle Ganga plain, known as Son-Karamnasa interfluve, in india. Alternative land use systems and the integration of livestock enterprises with the agricultural system have been suggested for land resources management. The objective of this paper is to prepare a land resource development plan in order to increase the productivity of land for sustainable development. The present study will contribute necessary input for policy makers to improve the socio-eeonomic and environmental conditions of the region.

The aim of this study was to evaluate groundwater fitness for domestic and irrigational use in Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh,*** this study,block wise(n=16)groundwater samples were collected,and measured parameters were analyzed using the pollution index of groundwater(PiG),various irrigational indices,and graphical *** results of this study suggested that most of the parameters were within the prescribed limits of WHO and biS,excluding F-(0.4 to 2.6 mg L^(-1))and Fe^(2+)(0.1 to 1.7 mg L^(-1)).Concentrations of total dissolved solids(TDS)were exceeded the desirable limit(>500 mg L^(-1))in 43.75%of samples at some *** Gibbs plot revealed that groundwater chemistry was governed by rock-water interaction in the region,especially silicate *** Piper plot suggested that Ca^(2+)-HCO3-is dominant hydrochemical facies in the area followed by mixed Ca^(2+)-Na^(+)-HCO_(3)^(-)type,Na^(+)-Cl^(-)type,and Na^(+)-HCO_(3)^(-)*** evaluation revealed that the contribution of F-and Fe2+in groundwater degradation is high in comparison to other elements in the region,about 18.75%samples showed low pollution,while about 6.25%samples shows moderate pollution,and 6.25%samples reflected high *** human health risk(HHR)assessment finding suggested that children(mean:1.36)are more vulnerable than adults(mean:1.01).Sodium absorption ration(SAR),Residual sodium carbonate(RSC),and Permeability index(Pi)indicated that most of the groundwater was suitable for irrigation,whereas,Magnesium hazard ration(MHR)and Potential salinity(PS)indices suggested that only 37.5%and 56.25%of the samples were suitable for irrigational use,*** regional study would help in decision making for stakeholders and relevant authorities in the execution of groundwater management and remediation plans in the area.
