Since 2014,"Bring Your Own Data"workshops(BYODs)have been organised to inform people about the process and benefits of making resources Findable,Accessible,interoperable,and Reusable(FAiR,and the FAiRifi.a.ion process).The BYOD workshops'content and format differ depending on their goal,context,and the background and needs of ***-focused BYODs educate domain experts on how to make their data FAiR to find new answers to research ***-focused BYODs promote the benefits of making data FAiR and instruct project managers and policy-makers on the characteristics of FAiRifi.a.ion ***-focused BYODs gather software developers and experts on FAiR to implement or improve software resources that are used to support ***,these BYODs intend to foster collaboration between different types of stakeholders involved in data management,curation,and reuse(*** experts,trainers,developers,data owners,data analysts,FAiR experts).The BYODs also serve as an opportunity to learn what kind of support for FAiRifi.a.ion is needed from different communities and to develop teaching materials based on practi.a. examples and *** this paper,we detail the three different structures of the BYODs and describe examples of early BYODs related to plant breeding data,and rare disease registries and biobanks,which have shaped the structure of the *** discuss the latest insights into making BYODs more productive by leveraging our almost ten years of training experience in these workshops,including successes and encountered ***,we examine how the partici.a.ts'feedback has moti.a.ed the research on FAiR,including the development of workflows and software.

Cryoablation of malignant liver tumors: results of a single center study

BACKGROUND: Local ablative procedures such as cryo-surgery and thermo-ablation are increasingly employed as a supplement to liver resection for the therapy of pri.a.y and secondary liver tumors. it is still unclear if the survi.a. time can be extended through local ablative procedures. This prospective study shows operative actions, compli.a.ions and long-term follow-up of 19 patients undergoing cryotherapy. METHODS: Between 1997 and 1998, 19 patients underwent cryotherapy due to a non-resectable malignant liver tumor (17 patients with metastases of a colon carcinoma, 2 patients with a hepatocellular carcinoma). Twelve patients (63.2%) received cryotherapy only and seven patients (36.8%) received a combi.a.ion of resection and cryotherapy. The median follow-up period was 23 months. RESULTS: in a total of 59 liver tumors (18 were resected and 41 received cryotherapy), 12 had cryotherapy only, and 7 had a combi.a.ion of cryotherapy and resection. The 30-day lethality was 0%, and the rate of major compli.a.ions was 21%. After one year, 27.3% of the patients were still recurrence- free. The recurrence rate for all tumors treated was 58.8%. The median survi.a. time for all patients was 21 months. The one- and three-year survi.a. rates were 62. 5% and 15.8%, respectively. CONCLUSiONS: The mortality for cryotherapy is low, but there is a high rate of compli.a.ions and long-term tumor control is not sufficient. if local ablative procedures of hepatic lesions are to be performed, not laparotomy but percutaneous, percutaneous thermoablation should be discussed as an alternative therapeutic measure.

AiM To investi.a.e the acute effects of stochastic resonance whole body vibration(SR-WBV), including muscle relaxation and cardiovascular *** Sixty-four healthy students partici.a.ed. The partici.a.ts were randomly assigned to sham SR-WBV training at a low intensity(1.5 Hz) or a verum SR-WBV training at a higher intensity(5 Hz). Systolic blood pressure(SBP), diastolic blood pressure(DBP), heart rate(HR) and selfreported muscle relaxation were assessed before and immediately after *** Two factorial analyses of variance(ANOVA) showed a signifi.a.t interaction between pre- vs post-SR-WBVmeasurements and SR-WBV conditions for muscle relaxation in the neck and back [F(1,55) = 3.35, P = 0.048, η2 = 0.07]. Muscle relaxation in the neck and back increased in verum SR-WBV, but not in sham SR-WBV. No signifi.a.t changes between pre- and post-training levels of SBD, DBD and HR were observed either in sham or verum SR-WBV conditions. With verum SR-WBV, improved muscle relaxation was the most signifi.a.t in partici.a.ts who reported the experience of back, neck or shoulder pain more than once a month(P iON A single session of SR-WBV increased muscle relaxation in young healthy individuals, while cardiovascular load was low. An increase in musculoskeletal relaxation in the neck and back is a potential mediator of pain reduction in preventive worksite SR-WBV trials.

Since their publi.a.ion in 2016 we have seen a rapid adoption of the FAiR principles in many scientific disciplines where the inherent value of research data and,therefore,the importance of good data management and data stewardship,is *** has led to many communities asking“What is FAiR?”and“How FAiR are we currently?”,questions which were addressed respectively by a publi.a.ion revisiting the principles and the emergence of FAiR ***,early adopters of the FAiR principles have already run into the next question:“How can we become(more)FAiR?”This question is more difficult to answer,as the principles do not prescribe any specific standard or ***,there does not yet exist a mature ecosystem of tools,platforms and standards to support human and machine agents to manage,produce,publish and consume FAiR data in a user-friendly and efficient(i.e.,“easy”)*** this paper we will show,however,that there are already many emerging examples of FAiR tools under *** paper puts forward the position that we are likely already in a creoli.a.ion phase where FAiR tools and technologies are merging and combining,before converging in a subsequent phase to solutions that make FAiR feasible in daily practice.

Fish is an important constituent of the Lebanese ***,very little attention in our area is given to bring awareness regarding the effect of the toxicity of mercury （Hg） mainly through fish *** study aimed to report analyti.a. data on total mercury levels in several fish species for the first time in thirty years and to also made individuals aware of the presence and danger from exposure to mercury through fish *** samples were selected from local Lebanese markets and fisheries and included 94 samples of which were fresh,frozen,processed,and canned *** values were reported as microgram of mercury per gram of fish based on wet *** level of mercury ranged from 0.0190 to 0.5700 μg/g in fresh samples,0.0059 to 0.0665 μg/g in frozen samples,and 0.0305 to 0.1190 μg/g in canned *** data clearly showed that higher levels of mercury were detected in local fresh fish as opposed to other types thus placing consumers at higher risk from mercury ***,the data revealed that Malli.a.（yellowstripe barracuda/Sphyraena chrysotaenia）,Sargous （white seabream/Diplodus sargus）,Ghobbos （bogue/Boops boops）,and shrimp （Penaeus sp.） were among the types containing the highest amounts of *** the other hand,processed fish such as fish fillet,fish burger,small shrimp and crab are found to contain lower levels of mercury and are associated with lower exposure risks to *** population should therefore,be aware to consume limited amounts of fresh local fish to minimize exposure to mercury.

Partici.a.ion and Activity Rates: Monitoring Exposure Potential for Native Ameri.a.s and Others in the United States

Managers and regulators are concerned about potential human health effects from exposure on lands contami.a.ed by chemi.a.s and radionuclides. Determining target cleanup levels is partly dependent upon future land use, and potential exposure from human use. This paper provides data from surveys of activity patterns of people attending festi.a.s in four states, located in the vicinity of Department of Energy facilities. There were signifi.a.t differences in both partici.a.ion rates, and activity rates as a function of both location and ethnicity that can be used by managers to track exposure, land use, and preferred activities on natural lands. in general, 1) a higher percent of Native Ameri.a.s engaged in consumptive activities than others, 2) a higher percent of Caucasians engaged in some non-consumptive activities than Native Ameri.a.s, 3) a higher percentage of Native Ameri.a.s engaged in activities on sacred grounds, 4) activity rates were generally higher for Native Ameri.a.s for consumptive activities and religious/cultural than for Caucasians, 5) fishing rates were higher than other consumptive activities, and camping/hiking were higher than other non-con- sumptive activities, and 6) hunting rates were higher in subjects from i.a.o than elsewhere. Baseline human use is criti.a. for monitoring potential exposure, and provides the basis for monitoring, risk assessment and future land use, and these data can be used by managers for assessment and management. Tracking changes over time will reflect changing recreational, subsistence, and cultural/religious trends that relate to land use, public perceptions, and exposure.
