Ai.:To i.vesti.ate the effects of exogenous testosterone treatment on the choroi.al parameters i. pati.nts wi.h androgen ***:Ri.ht eyes of 24 pati.nts wi.h androgen defi.i.ncy and 31 healthy volunteers were i.cluded i. the *** eyes were scanned for subfoveal choroi.al thi.kness(SFCT),choroi.al vasculari.y i.dex(CVi.,choroi.stromal area(C-SA),choroi.-lumi.al area(C-LA),choroi.stromal to lumi.al area rati.(CSLR),and the choroi.al parameters wi.hi. central 1500μm of the macula(CVi.500,C-LA1500,C-SA1500,and CSLR1500)by enhanced-depth i.agi.g opti.al coherence tomography(EDi.OCT)at baseli.e,6th and 18th weeks of the exogenous testosterone ***:The mean SFCT values of the androgen defi.i.nt groups and healthy controls were 307.7±27.0 and 303.2±37.2μm(P=0.8).However,CVi.C-SA,CSLR,CVi.500,C-LA1500,and CSLR1500 were si.ni.i.antly di.ferent between the groups(all Pi.i. after exogenous testosterone treatment,SFCT,CVi.C-LA,and C-SA were si.ni.i.antly decreased,and these parameters returned to baseli.e levels at the 18th-week vi.i.(all P>0.05).However,CVi.500 and LA1500 si.ni.i.antly i.creased at the end of the follow-up peri.d(Pi.N:CVi.i. lower i. androgen-defi.i.nt pati.nts than i. healthy *** alterati.ns i. the choroi. duri.g the testosterone peak are transi.nt i. the treatment of pati.nts wi.h androgen ***,the i.crease i. BACKGROUND: Pai. management followi.g caesarean secti.n sti.l remai.s a challenge i. our envi.onment. Most potent analgesi.s are ei.her not readi.y avai.able or expensi.e. Di.lofenac supposi.ory i. an NSAi. that can be used for postoperati.e analgesi.. i. i. avai.able and affordable. OBJECTi.E: To compare the effi.acy and safety of combi.ed rectal di.lofenac and i.tramuscular pentazoci.e wi.h i.tramuscular pentazoci.e alone for post operati.e pai. control followi.g lower segment caesarean secti.n. METHODOLOGY: A total of 120 women who met the selecti.n cri.eri. scheduled for caesarean secti.n under spi.al anaesthesi. wi.h bupi.acai.e were randomi.ed i.to two equal groups to recei.e ei.her 75 mg di.lofenac supposi.ory 12 hourly for 24 hours or one anusol supposi.ory (the placebo) 12 hourly for 24 hours. Both groups recei.ed pentazoci.e as pri.ary analgesi.. RESULT: The pri.ary outcome measure i. the proporti.n of pati.nts wi.h severe pai. at 24 hours usi.g the vi.ual analogue rati.g scale. Secondary outcome measures are the ti.e from surgery to ambulati.n, Passage of flatus, maternal sati.facti.n and presence of compli.ati.ns. i. forest sci.nce and practi.e, the total tree hei.ht i. one of the basi. morphometri. attri.utes at the tree level and i. has been closely li.ked wi.h i.portant stand attri.utes. i. the current research, si.teen nonli.ear functi.ns for hei.ht predi.ti.n were tested i. terms of thei. fi.ti.g abi.i.y agai.st samples of Abi.s bori.i. regi. and Pi.us sylvestri. trees from mountai.ous forests i. central Greece. The fi.ti.g procedure was based on generali.ed nonli.ear wei.hted regressi.n. At the fi.al stage, a fi.e-quanti.e nonli.ear hei.ht-di.meter model was developed for both speci.s through a quanti.e regressi.n approach, to esti.ate the enti.e condi.i.nal di.tri.uti.n of tree hei.ht, enabli.g the evaluati.n of the di.meter i.pact at vari.us quanti.es and provi.i.g a comprehensi.e understandi.g of the proposed relati.nshi. across the di.tri.uti.n. The results clearly showed that employi.g the di.meter as the sole i.dependent vari.ble, the 3-parameter Hossfeld functi.n and the 2-parameter N?slund functi.n managed to explai. approxi.ately 84.0% and 81.7% of the total hei.ht vari.nce i. the case of Ki.g Bori. fi. and Scots pi.e speci.s, respecti.ely. Furthermore, the models exhi.i.ed low levels of error i. both cases(2.310m for the fi. and 3.004m for the pi.e), yi.ldi.g unbi.sed predi.ti.ns for both fi.(-0.002m) and pi.e(-0.004m). Notably, all the requi.ed assumpti.ns for homogenei.y and normali.y of the associ.ted resi.uals were achi.ved through the wei.hti.g procedure, whi.e the quanti.e regressi.n approach provi.ed addi.i.nal i.si.hts i.to the hei.ht-di.meter allometry of the speci.i. speci.s. The proposed models can turn i.to valuable tools for operati.nal forest management planni.g, parti.ularly for wood producti.n and conservati.n of mountai.ous forest ecosystems.
