Newton’s second law of moti.n,compri.i.g of two components:the accelerati.n due to the plate di.placement and the parti.le ***,a si.ple force balance method was used to determi.e the condi.i.ns for ***,resuspensi.n occurs when the osci.lati.n force exceeds the couple of the adhesi.e and gravi.ati.nal *** results suggest that the plate di.placement depends on the characteri.ti.s of the appli.d force,materi.l properti.s,and plate *** addi.i.n,i. was found that the osci.lati.n force i. substanti.lly lower than the appli.d force and that i. depends on plate di.placement and parti.le ***,the parti.le si.e si.ni.i.antly i.fluencedthe outcome of ***,resuspensi.n i. favorable for large parti.les,strong appli.d forces,and hi.h forci.g frequenci.s.

The Orf di.ease, also known as contagi.us ecthyma, i. a zoonoti. i.fecti.n caused by a dermatotropi. parapoxvi.us that commonly i.fects small rumi.ants such as sheep and goats. i. i. transmi.ted to humans through contact wi.h an i.fected ani.al or fomi.es. Human i.fecti.n typi.ally i. associ.ted wi.h occupati.nal ani.al contact. We recently treated a healthy 41-year-old woman who presented a hangnai. lesi.n on the mi.dle fi.ger of her ri.ht hand. The lesi.n was hard cauli.lower-li.e mass, granulomatous and pai.ful. Surgi.al debri.ement and bi.psy were performed for further i.vesti.ati.n. The Orf di.ease i. usually self-li.i.i.g and resolves i. 6 - 10 weeks, but compli.ati.ns may occur. The di.gnosi. may be confi.med by electron mi.roscopy, conventi.nal hi.topathology or by i.olati.n of the vi.us by PCR. Early cli.i.al recogni.i.n and knowledge of thi. beni.n vi.al condi.i.n are vi.al to avoi. unnecessary surgi.al i.terventi.n.

Ai.: To determi.e i. novel bi.e aci. transporters may be expressed i. human ti.sues. METHODS: SLC10A1 (NTCP) was used as a probe to search the NCBi.database for homology to previ.usly uncharacteri.ed ESTs. The homology search i.enti.i.d an EST (termed SLC10A4) that shares sequence i.enti.y wi.h SLC10A1 and SLC10A2 (ASBT). We performed Northern blot analysi. and RT-PCR to determi.e the ti.sue di.tri.uti.n of SLC10A4. SLC10A4 was cloned i. frame wi.h an epi.ope tag and overexpressed i. CHO cells to determi.e cellular locali.ati.n and functi.nal analysi. of bi.e aci. uptake. RESULTS: Northern analysi. revealed that SLC10A4 mRNA i. ubi.ui.ously expressed i. human ti.sues wi.h the hi.hest levels of mRNA expressi.n i. brai., placenta, and li.er. i. SLC10A4-transfected CHO cells, i.munoblotti.g analysi. and i.munofluorescence stai.i.g demonstrated a 49-kDa protei. that i. expressed at the plasma membrane and i.tracellular compartments. Functi.nal analysi. of SLC10A4 showed no si.ni.i.ant taurocholate uptake i. the presence of sodi.m when compared to untransfected CHO cells. CONCLUSi.N: To date, we have shown that thi. protei. has no capaci.y to transport taurocholate relati.e to SLC10A1; however, gi.en i.s ubi.ui.ous ti.sue di.tri.uti.n, i. may play a more acti.e role i. transporti.g other endogenous organi. ani.ns.

Endoscopy si.ulati.n trai.i.g has been suggested for ascertai.i.g pati.nt safety whi.e posi.i.ely i.fluenci.g the trai.ees' learni.g curve. Vi.tual si.ulators are the most promi.i.g tool among all avai.able types of si.ulators. These i.tegrated modali.i.s offer a human-li.e endoscopy experi.nce by combi.i.g vi.tual i.ages of the gastroi.testi.al tract and hapti. reali.m wi.h usi.g a customi.ed endoscope. From thei. fi.st steps i. the 1980s unti. today, research i.volvi.g vi.tual endoscopi. si.ulators can be di.i.ed i. two categori.s: i.vesti.ati.n of the i.pact of vi.tual si.ulator trai.i.g i. acqui.i.g endoscopy ski.ls and measuri.g competence. Emphasi. should also be gi.en to the fi.anci.l i.pact of thei. i.plementati.n i. endoscopy, i.cludi.g the cost of these state-of-theart si.ulators and the potenti.l economi. benefi.s from thei. usage. Therefore, the management of erecti.e dysfuncti.n i. hypertensi.e pati.nts i. of paramount i.portance. Cholangi.cytes possess ASBT,an api.al sodi.m-dependent bi.e aci. transporter to take up bi.e aci.s,and t-ASBT,a basolateral alternati.ely spli.ed and truncated form of ASBT to efflux bi.e *** hepatocyte and i.eal bi.e aci. transporters are i. part regulated by the flux of bi.e aci.s, the effect of alterati.ns i. bi.e aci. flux on the expressi.n of t-ASBT i. termi.al i.eocytes remai.s ***,we tested the hypothesi. that expressi.n of ASBT and t-ASBT i. cholangi.cytes and i.eocytes was regulated by bi.e aci. flux. METHODS: Expressi.n of ASBT and t-ASBT message and protei. i. cholangi.cytes and i.eocytes i.olated from pai.- fed rats gi.en control (C) and 1% taurocholate (TCA) or 5% cholestyrami.e (CY) enri.hed di.ts,were assessed by both quanti.ati.e RNase protecti.n assays and quanti.ati.e *** data obtai.ed from each of the control groups were pooled to reflect the changes observed followi.g TCA and CY treatments wi.h respect to the control di.ts. Ai.: To retrospecti.ely compare previ.us-day vs spli.dose preparati.n i. terms of bowel cleanli.ess and polyp detecti.n i. pati.nts referred for polypectomy. METHODS: Fi.ty pati.nts underwent two colonoscopi.s: one di.gnosti. i. a pri.ate cli.i. and a second for polypectomy i. a Uni.ersi.y Hospi.al. The latter procedures were performed wi.hi. 12 wk of the i.dex ones. Exami.ati.ns were accompli.hed by two experi.nced endoscopi.ts, di.ferent i. each faci.i.y. Twenty-seven pati.nts underwent screeni.g/survei.lance colonoscopy, whi.e the rest were symptomati.. Previ.us day bowel preparati.n was uti.i.ed i.i.i.lly and spli.dose for polypectomy. Colon cleansi.g was evaluated usi.g the Aronchi.k scale. We measured the number of detected polyps, and the polyp mi.s rates ***: Excellent/good preparati.n was reported i. 38 cases wi.h previ.us-day preparati.n(76%) vs 46 wi.h spli.-dose(92%), respecti.ely(P = 0.03). One hundred and twenty-si. polyps were detected i.i.i.lly and 169 subsequently(P i.i.uti.e(P i.s rates for total, di.i.uti.e, small and large polyps were 25.4%, 30.1%, 13.7% and 6.6%, respecti.ely. Multi.ari.te analysi. revealed that spli.-dose preparati.n was si.ni.i.antly associ.ted(OR, P) wi.h i.creased number of polyps detected overall(0.869, P i. the ri.ht(0.418, P = 0.008) and i. the left colon(0.452, P = 0.02). CONCLUSi.N: Spli.-dose preparati.n i.proved colon cleansi.g, enhanced polyp detecti.n and unmasked si.ni.i.ant polyp mi.s rates.
