Seven hundred and thi.ty-ei.ht apparently healthy-looki.g, and most sui.able men, who gave thei. consent were selected after i.tervi.w. The results showed that long i.duced si.ni.i.ant i.crease i. mean blood pressure parameters (systoli. blood pressure, di.stoli. blood pressure, mean arteri.l blood pressure and pulse rate) i. older men (41-50 and 51-60 age brackets) when compared wi.h thei. respecti.e age-matched control (non-dri.kers) mean value. Such dri.ki.g pattern also si.ni.i.antly (P＜0.05) reduced thei. body mass i.dex when compared wi.h si.i.ar control values. By extensi.n, i. can be cardi.vascular dysfuncti.n and nutri.i.nal compli.ati.ns. However, further epi.emi.logi.al, bi.chemi.al and post-mortem i.vesti.ati.ns are requi.ed i. order to generate data and i.formati.n needed to alert the communi.i.s, and possi.ly advi.e the lay publi..

The presence of nonmetalli. i.clusi.n parti.les whi.h appear duri.g steelmaki.g process i. harmful to the properti.s of steels, whi.h i. mai.ly as a functi.n of some aspects such as si.e, volume fracti.n, shape, and di.tri.uti.n of these parti.les. The automati. i.age analysi. techni.ue i. one of the most i.portant tools for the quanti.ati.e determi.ati.n of these parameters. The classi.al Student approach and the Extreme Values Method （EVM） were used for the i.clusi.n si.e and shape determi.ati.n and the evaluati.n of di.tance between the i.clusi.n parti.les. The results thus obtai.ed i.di.ated that there were si.ni.i.ant di.ferences i. the characteri.ti.s of the i.clusi.n parti.les i. the analyzed products. Both methods achi.ved results wi.h some di.ferences, i.di.ati.g that EVM could be used as a faster and more reli.ble stati.ti.al methodology.

Some progress i. hi.h speed wi.d tunnel wall i.terference research has been made at Nanji.g Aeronauti.al i.sti.ute. i. i.cludes the efforts i. looki.g for better venti.ated wall desi.ns to reduce the wall i.terference effects and developi.g some wall i.terference assessment / correcti.n (Wi.C) procedures to assess or correct the wall i.terference effects. The perforated wall wi.h 60-deg i.cli.ed holes whi.h has conti.uously vari.ble porosi.y from zero to 9% and the slotted wall whi.h has conti.uously vari.ble open-area rati. from zero to 7% are used to lessen the wall i.terference i. transoni. and subsoni. tests. Li.ear and nonli.ear 2-di.ensi.nal Wi.C procedures and 3-di.ensi.nal Wi.C procedures were developed. The procedures use measured wall pressure data to correct the wall i.terference effects or judge whether the wall i.terference effects are correctable. They do not requi.e any expli.i. knowledge about the wall cross-flow characteri.ti.s. They can be appli.d for 2D ai.foi. tests and 3D half or whole model tests wi.h a vari.ty of venti.ated test secti.n walls.

The usefulness of di.fusi.n-wei.hted magneti. resonance i.agi.g （DWi. i. the evaluati.n of scrotal pathology has recently been reported. A standard reference of normal testi.ular apparent di.fusi.n coeffi.i.nt （ADC） values and thei. vari.ti.ns wi.h age i. necessary when i.terpreti.g normal testi.ular anatomy and pathology. We evaluated 147 normal testes usi.g DWi. i.cludi.g 71 testes from 53 men aged 20-39years （group 1）, 67 testes from 42 men aged 40-69 years （group 2） and ni.e testes from si. men older than 70years （group 3）. DWi.was performed along the axi.l plane, usi.g a si.gle shot, multi.li.e spi.-echo planar di.fusi.n pulse sequence and b-values of 0 and 900 s mm-2. The mean and standard devi.ti.n of the ADC values of normal testi.ular parenchyma were calculated for each age group separately. Analysi. of vari.nce （ANOVA） followed by post hoc analysi. （Dunnett T3） was used for stati.ti.al purposes. The ADC values （x 10-3 mm2s-1） of normal testi.ular ti.sue were di.ferent among age groups （group 1：1.08 ± 0.13; group 2：1.15 ±0.15 and group 3：1.31± 0.22）. ANOVA revealed di.ferences i. mean ADC among age groups （F= 11.391, P〈 0.001）. Post hoc analysi. showed di.ferences between groups 1 and 2 （P= 0.008） and between groups 1 and 3 （P= 0.043）, but not between groups 2 and 3 （P= 0.197）. Our fi.di.gs suggest that ADC values of normal testi.ular ti.sue i.crease wi.h advanci.g age.
