Urbani.ati.n occurs at a global scale,i.posi.g dramati. and abrupt envi.onmental changes that lead to bi.di.ersi.y ***,some ani.al speci.s can handle these changes,and thri.e i. such arti.ci.l *** possi.le explanati.n i. that urban i.di.i.uals are equi.ped wi.h better cogni.i.e abi.i.i.s,but most studi.s have focused on bi.ds and mammals and yi.lded vari.d *** have recei.ed much less attenti.n,despi.e some li.ard speci.s bei.g common ci.y *** i.ali.n wall li.ard,Podarci. si.ulus,and the common wall li.ard,Podarci. murali.,are two successful li.ards i. anthropogeni. habi.ats that thri.e i. urban *** test for di.ferences i. a cogni.i.e ski.l between urban and semi.natural envi.onments,we i.vesti.ated i.hi.i.ory control through a detour task i. syntopi. populati.ns of the two speci.s,across 249 li.ards that were tested i. parti.lly arti.ci.l feld *** i.hi.i.ory control i. consi.ered essenti.l for hi.her degrees of cogni.i.e fexi.i.i.y and other hi.her-level cogni.i.e *** thi. task,we confronted li.ards wi.h a transparent barri.r,separati.g them from a desi.ed shelter area that they could only reach by controlli.g thei. i.pulse to go strai.ht and i.stead detour the *** found no di.ferences between li.ards i. urban and semi.natural envi.onments,nor between speci.s,but females overall performed better than ***,48%of the li.ards i. our study di. not perform a correct tri.l i. any of the 5 tri.ls,hi.ti.g at the di.fculty of the task for these *** study i. among the frst to address li.ard cogni.i.n,through thei. i.hi.i.ory control,as a potenti.l explanati.n for success i. ci.i.s and hi.hli.hts one should be careful wi.h assumi.g that urban ani.als generally have enhanced cogni.i.e performance,as i. mi.ht be taxa,task,or condi.i.n dependent.

An experi.ent was conducted to test the effi.acy of a mechani.al barri.r around the tree trunk wi.h one spray of Cypermethri. @ 1 ml/l and turmeri. powder extract @ 15 g/500ml of water appli.d i. i.tegrated approaches agai.st mango mealybug on mango tree. There were 7 treatments i.cludi.g a control. The treatments were Mechani.al barri.r, Cypermethri. spray @ 1 ml/l, Turmeri. powder spray @ 15 g/500ml of water, Cypermethri. spray + Turmeri. spray, Cypermethri. spray + Mechani.al barri.r, Turmeri. + Mechani.al barri.r and untreated control. Three-year-old mango plants grafted from a 5-year-old mango tree (Vari.ty Amropali. and planted i. pots were used i. the experi.ent. The treatment, Cypermethri. spray + Mechani.al barri.r gave the hi.hest reducti.n of mango mealybug populati.n 87.06% to 93.90% followed by Turmeri. spray + Mechani.al barri.r and showed 81.13% to 86.04% and Mechani.al barri.r alone showed 81.13% to 84.59% populati.n reducti.n. Turmeri. powder extract showed only (8.42% to 23.77%) populati.n reducti.n of mango mealybug whi.h was lowest compared to other treatments.
