Some progress i. hi.h speed wi.d tunnel wall i.terference research has been made at Nanji.g Aeronauti.al i.sti.ute. i. i.cludes the efforts i. looki.g for better venti.ated wall desi.ns to reduce the wall i.terference effects and developi.g some wall i.terference assessment / correcti.n (Wi.C) procedures to assess or correct the wall i.terference effects. The perforated wall wi.h 60-deg i.cli.ed holes whi.h has conti.uously vari.ble porosi.y from zero to 9% and the slotted wall whi.h has conti.uously vari.ble open-area rati. from zero to 7% are used to lessen the wall i.terference i. transoni. and subsoni. tests. Li.ear and nonli.ear 2-di.ensi.nal Wi.C procedures and 3-di.ensi.nal Wi.C procedures were developed. The procedures use measured wall pressure data to correct the wall i.terference effects or judge whether the wall i.terference effects are correctable. They do not requi.e any expli.i. knowledge about the wall cross-flow characteri.ti.s. They can be appli.d for 2D ai.foi. tests and 3D half or whole model tests wi.h a vari.ty of venti.ated test secti.n walls.

The usefulness of di.fusi.n-wei.hted magneti. resonance i.agi.g （DWi. i. the evaluati.n of scrotal pathology has recently been reported. A standard reference of normal testi.ular apparent di.fusi.n coeffi.i.nt （ADC） values and thei. vari.ti.ns wi.h age i. necessary when i.terpreti.g normal testi.ular anatomy and pathology. We evaluated 147 normal testes usi.g DWi. i.cludi.g 71 testes from 53 men aged 20-39years （group 1）, 67 testes from 42 men aged 40-69 years （group 2） and ni.e testes from si. men older than 70years （group 3）. DWi.was performed along the axi.l plane, usi.g a si.gle shot, multi.li.e spi.-echo planar di.fusi.n pulse sequence and b-values of 0 and 900 s mm-2. The mean and standard devi.ti.n of the ADC values of normal testi.ular parenchyma were calculated for each age group separately. Analysi. of vari.nce （ANOVA） followed by post hoc analysi. （Dunnett T3） was used for stati.ti.al purposes. The ADC values （x 10-3 mm2s-1） of normal testi.ular ti.sue were di.ferent among age groups （group 1：1.08 ± 0.13; group 2：1.15 ±0.15 and group 3：1.31± 0.22）. ANOVA revealed di.ferences i. mean ADC among age groups （F= 11.391, P〈 0.001）. Post hoc analysi. showed di.ferences between groups 1 and 2 （P= 0.008） and between groups 1 and 3 （P= 0.043）, but not between groups 2 and 3 （P= 0.197）. Our fi.di.gs suggest that ADC values of normal testi.ular ti.sue i.crease wi.h advanci.g age.

A total of 120 EFL freshman collegestudents from hi.h, i.termedi.te, and basi. levels i. Tai.an parti.i.ated i. the present study. Usi.g a learni.g stylepreference checkli.t, students’ percepti.nal learni.g styles were fi.st explored i. terms of preferences. 120parti.i.ants wi.h di.ferent levels were classi.i.d based on thei. Engli.h scores on College Entrance Exam. Wi.h theuse of descri.ti.e stati.ti.s and a one-way analysi. of vari.nce (ANOVA), the results i.di.ated that speci.i.learni.g style preference correlated wi.h certai. achi.vement levels of students. Students wi.h di.ferentachi.vement levels preferred si.ni.i.antly certai. style preference to other style compari.g to other achi.vementlevels. i. seems that learni.g styles preferences may not defi.i.ely relate to a student’s achi.vement levels. Certai.vari.bles may also probably affect learni.g style preferences wi.h respect to Engli.h performance.

i. the fi.ld of L2 （second language） readi.g, scholars generally agree that ER （extensi.e readi.g） i.proves L2 learners＇ readi.g speed and comprehensi.n and enri.hes thei. L2 vocabulary （Grabe ＆ Stoller, 1997）. Thi. teacher-i.qui.y type of paper presents a practi.al suggesti.n for supplementi.g ER acti.i.y wi.h the element of CL （cooperati.e learni.g）. ER, theoreti.ally speaki.g, focuses on the soli.ary task of si.ent readi.g. The CL techni.ue used i. thi. study was a book-talk acti.i.y. Forty-fi.e freshmen from a course of chi.dren and young adult li.eratures were requi.ed to read at least 20 Engli.h books throughout a semester. CL was added to faci.i.ate students＇ ER i. young adult li.erature. After a semester, short-answer questi.ns were asked regardi.g students＇ comments on ER as well as CL. Students overall agreed that when ER i. supplemented wi.h CL, readi.g i. an L2 seems to be less i.ti.i.ati.g.
