i.troducti.n: Di.lyti. hi.h blood pressure (DHBP), although often i.nored, i. now recogni.ed as a recurri.g and persi.tent phenomenon i. a subgroup of hemodi.lysi.ed pati.nts. i.s occurrence i. associ.ted wi.h an i.creased ri.k of hospi.ali.ati.n and death. The objecti.e of the study was to determi.e the prevalence of i.tradi.lyti. hypertensi.n and the factors associ.ted wi.h i.. Methods: Study was cross-secti.nal, monocentri., descri.ti.e and analyti.al over a three-month peri.d from Apri. 22 to July 22, 2019. i.cluded were all pati.nts 18 years of age or older, chroni. hemodi.lysi. for at least three months, wi.h i.tra-di.lyti. hi.h blood pressure. The blood pressure machi.e used for the majori.y of pati.nts was an electroni. “OMRON” blood pressure moni.or. Epi.emi.logi.al, cli.i.al, para cli.i.al and di.lysi. parameters were studi.d. The data were collected, captured and analyzed usi.g i.M SPSS Stati.ti.s Versi.n 20 software. The factors associ.ted wi.h i.tradi.lyti. hi.h blood pressure were searched usi.g a uni.ari.te logi.ti. regressi.n model. The si.ni.i.ance threshold for all stati.ti.al tests has been set at 5%. Results: Of our 131 pati.nts, 53 had i.tradi.lyti. hypertensi.n, a frequency of 40.5%. The ti.e of (DHBP) occurrence was more frequent at the 3rd and 2nd hour, 94.34% and 86.79%, respecti.ely. The average age of pati.nts was 45.51 years wi.h extremes rangi.g from 19 to 70 years. The average Systoli. Blood Pressure (SBP) before di.lysi. was 148 mm Hg ?16.62 and the average Di.stoli. Blood Pressure (DBP) before di.lysi. was 88 mm Hg ?12.50. Pre-di.lysi. Blood Pressure—140/90 mm Hg was noted i. 18 cases, or 34.0%. The i.tradi.lyti. average SBP was 164 mm Hg ?17.25 wi.h extremes of 121 to 202 mm Hg. The i.tradi.lyti. average DBP was 92 mm Hg ?12.52 wi.h extremes 67 to 124 mm Hg. i.troducti.n: Venous thromboemboli.m (VTE) i. a nosologi.al group whi.h mai.ly i.cludes deep vei. thrombosi. (DVT) and pulmonary emboli.m (PE), i. i. frequently associ.ted wi.h hi.h morbi.i.y and mortali.y. We i.i.i.ted thi. study wi.h the ai. of studyi.g VTE i. a cardi.logi.al hospi.al envi.onment i. a regi.nal hospi.al i. Mali. Methodology: Thi. was a descri.ti.e study wi.h prospecti.e recrui.ment over 1 year from June 20, 2019 to June 20, 2020, coveri.g pati.nts hospi.ali.ed and followed i. consultati.n i. the cardi.logy department of the Ségou regi.nal hospi.al i. Mali. Results: We collected 31 cases of VTE out of 366 pati.nts, representi.g a frequency of 8.47%. The sex rati. was 0.88. VTE ri.k factors were domi.ated by i.mobi.i.ati.n (29.03%), pregnancy and postpartum (16.12%), heart fai.ure (16.12%). The reason for consultati.n was dyspnea (93.54%) followed by chest pai. (83.87%). On admi.si.n the cli.i.al mani.estati.ns were tachycardi. (74.19%), tachypnea (90.32%), muffled heart sounds (70.96%), global heart fai.ure syndrome (51.6%). Accordi.g to VTE probabi.i.y scores;51.61% of pati.nts had an i.termedi.te cli.i.al probabi.i.y accordi.g to the si.pli.i.d Wells score for PE and 54.84% had an i.termedi.te cli.i.al probabi.i.y for the si.pli.i.d Geneva score for DVT. D-Di.ers were only performed i. 12 pati.nts (38.70%) and were elevated i. all. A chest CT angi.gram showed PE i. 90% of pati.nts (n = 28/31). Venous Doppler ultrasound of the lower li.bs showed venous thrombosi. i. 3 pati.nts. Conclusi.n: Venous thromboemboli.m, although underdi.gnosed, i. common i. our health structures. Preventi.n, parti.ularly hepari.oprophylaxi. and early recovery i. a hospi.al envi.onment, remai.s the effecti.e means of combati.g thi. condi.i.n.

The cli.ati. and envi.onmental di.ferences coupled wi.h the frequency of i.fecti.us pathologi.s si.ni.g the Afri.an parti.ulari.y and the absence of data i. Mali.on thi. affecti.n, moti.ated us to carry out thi. work. Objecti.e: To study the epi.emi.logi.al aspects of nephroti. syndrome i. hospi.ali.ed chi.dren aged 0 - 15 years. Pati.nts and Methods: Thi. was a descri.ti.e prospecti.e study from January 1 to December 31, 2021 i. the Pedi.tri.s Department of the Uni.ersi.y Teachi.g Hospi.al (UTH) Gabri.l Touré, anati.nal pedi.tri. reference servi.e i. Mali. Di.gnosti. confi.mati.n was provi.ed by bi.logy. Results: i. one year, 120 chi.dren were hospi.ali.ed for nephroti. syndrome wi.h a sex rati. of 2.75. Male exclusi.i.y was observed at the ages of one year, ei.ht years and 14 years and a reversal at 13 years (sex-rati. = 0.33). The medi.n age was 6 years for an average age of 6.4 years ± 2.4 years wi.h extremes rangi.g from one year to 14 years. The fi.st attack of nephroti. syndrome occurred outsi.e the classi. age (>10 years) i. 16.67%. Nephroti. syndrome i. observed throughout the year wi.h two peaks i. summer (July to September) and wi.ter (December to February). Many ethni. groups were affected by thi. condi.i.n wi.h a hi.h frequency among ethni. groups where endogamy i. common. All pati.nts were melanoderms. No cases of NS were recorded i. Caucasi.n chi.dren from Northern Mali. The pati.nts came from Bamako i. 47.5% of cases. i.troducti.n: i.i.pathi. nephroti. syndrome (i.S) i. one of the leadi.g causes of chi.dhood morbi.i.y worldwi.e. Thi. study was undertaken to complete the epi.emi.logi.al, cli.i.al, therapeuti. and evoluti.nary aspects of Ni. i. hospi.ali.ed pati.nts. Methodology: We conducted a retrospecti.e study of pati.nts wi.h chi.dhood Ni. who had been admi.ted to our department from January 2017 to December 2018. Di.gnosi., remi.si.n and relapse of i.i.pathi. NS were defi.ed accordi.g to the recommendati.ns of the French Soci.ty of Pedi.tri. Nephrology. We i.cluded all pati.nts aged 2 to 14 years presenti.g a Ni. pi.ture. Results: Duri.g the study peri.d, 35 pati.nts wi.h i.i.pathi. NS had been hospi.ali.ed, representi.g a frequency of 1% of pati.nts hospi.ali.ed i. the department. The sex rati. was 2.22. The average age of the pati.nts was 7.5 ± 3.5 years. Generali.ed edema was observed i. all our pati.nts. Arteri.l hypertensi.n (36%) and abdomi.al pai. (24%), hematuri. (9%) were the mai. associ.ted si.ns. Malnutri.i.n was present i. 66%, uri.ary tract i.fecti.n i. 20% and malari. i. 24%. Corti.o-sensi.i.i.y was obtai.ed i. 86% of pati.nts, 14% were corti.o-resi.tant and 11% were corti.o-dependent. Relapses (6%) had been observed among corti.o-sensi.i.e pati.nts. The mortali.y rate was 11%. Conclusi.n: Thi. study calls for more tri.ls to better eluci.ate prognosti. i.di.ators and develop better therapeuti. approaches adapted to epi.emi.-cli.i.al contexts.

i.troducti.n: Respi.atory di.tress i. a frequent cause of morbi.i.y and mortali.y i. neonates. The ai. of thi. study was to assess i.s frequency and descri.e i.s cli.i.al and evoluti.nary characteri.ti.s i. the neonatology department of the Gabri.l Touré Uni.ersi.y Hospi.al i. Bamako. Methodology: Thi. was a prospecti.e cross-secti.nal study conducted from 1 January 2021 to 30 June 2021. All term neonates aged 0 to 28 days hospi.ali.ed wi.h si.ns of respi.atory di.tress (tachypnoea, nasal flari.g, expi.atory whi.i.g, i.tercostal and subcostal i.drawi.g, xi.hoi. funneli.g and cyanosi.) were i.cluded. The soci.demographi. and cli.i.al vari.bles of the newborns and thei. mothers were analysed usi.g SPSS.20 software. Results: Duri.g the study peri.d, 1272 newborns were admi.ted to hospi.al, i.cludi.g 705 born at term, of whom 188 were i.cluded i. the study. The mothers’ ages ranged from 14 to 45 years, wi.h an average of 24 years. The pregnancy was not followed up i. 15% of cases. Newborns were resusci.ated at bi.th i. 51% of cases. The mai. cli.i.al si.ns observed were hypoxi., neurologi.al di.orders and fever. Peri.atal asphyxi. (55%), neonatal i.fecti.ns (34%) and congeni.al malformati.ns (6%) were the mai. causes of respi.atory di.tress. Mortali.y was esti.ated at 37%. Conclusi.n: Neonatal respi.atory di.tress i. a major cause of death. Most causes can be avoi.ed i. pregnancy and deli.ery are properly managed.

Methodology: We carri.d out a retrospecti.e study at the CHU Poi.t G over a peri.d of fi.e years from January 2012 to December 2017. The hi.tologi.al exami.ati.n carri.d out on all the surgi.al speci.ens made i. possi.le to retai. the di.gnosi. of tuberculous peri.ardi.i.. Results: We i.enti.i.d and operated on 49 cases of tuberculous peri.ardi.i., i.e. 70% of the peri.ardi.l drai.age performed duri.g the same peri.d. The average age was 31.5 years (28 men and 21 women). The most common cli.i.al si.ns were dyspnea (61.2%), chest pai. (26.6%) and fever (12.2%). Peri.ardi.l drai.age wi.h peri.ardi.l bi.psy was performed by xi.hoi. route i. all of our pati.nts. The mortali.y and morbi.i.y rates were 4.1% and 8.2%, respecti.ely. The objecti.e of thi. study was to hi.hli.ht the di.ersi.y of congeni.al heart defects i. the neonatology department. Methodology: Thi. work had taken place i. a neonatology servi.e over a peri.d of si. months from January 2019 to June 2019. i. was a prospecti.e descri.ti.e study wi.h i.formati.n collected from the medi.al records of newborns wi.h congeni.al heart di.ease. Results: Of 1478 neonates hospi.ali.ed duri.g the study peri.d, 41 had congeni.al heart di.ease, for a hospi.ali.ati.n rate of 2.77%. CHD accounted for 2.77% of neonatal hospi.ali.ati.ns. The sex rati. was 1.73 (26 boys/15 gi.ls). Consangui.i.y was found i. 19% of cases. The average ti.e to consultati.n was 11 days. The mai. cli.i.al si.ns were heart murmur (58%), respi.atory di.tress (56%) and extracardi.c malformati.ns (54%). The mai. cardi.c malformati.ns found were atri.l septal defect (46%), patent ductus arteri.sus (44%), ventri.ular septal defect (17%), complete atri.ventri.ular canal (15%), and transposi.i.n of the great vessels (5%). The case fatali.y rate was 29%. Conclusi.n: Delayed di.gnosi., generally related to the long delay i. consultati.n, and lack of surgi.al management partly explai. thi. hi.h case fatali.y.

Stroke i. a rare but seri.us condi.i.n wi.h hi.h mortali.y and morbi.i.y. We report the case of a 10-year-old chi.d wi.h no known pathologi.al hi.tory who was transferred to the pedi.tri. department for hemorrhagi. stroke. He had been hospitalized 6 days earlier in a peripheral center for a tonic-clonic seizure accompanied by loss of consciousness and fever. Clinical examination revealed meningeal syndrome, facial paralysis, right hemiparesis, ataxia with disturbed balance, aphasia, and a peripapillary hemorrhage on the fundus. A cerebral computed tomography (CT) scan showed a hemorrhagic stroke with ventricular flooding. A lumbar puncture was performed and a hematic cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) with 12 leukocytes and 8000 red blood cells was obtained. The evolution was marked by the extinction of the infectious and meningeal syndromes, the regression of the pyramidal syndrome and the persistence of the dysarthria justifying a neuropsychological and speech therapy follow-up. Several challenges (diagnostic, therapeutic) exist in the management of children with stroke. Prospective studies with a larger sample are needed to fill the observed gaps.

Pati.nts and methods: We conducted a retrospecti.e, descri.ti.e study from January 1st, 2015 to December 31st, 2017 i. the pedi.tri. ward of the Gabri.l Touré Teachi.g Hospi.al i. Bamako. All chi.dren hospi.ali.ed for APi.N were i.cluded. Results: i. two years, we i.cluded 10 chi.dren aged 7 years old on average;all from low soci.economi. backgrounds. The sex rati. was 1.5. On average, the chi.dren spent 15.8 days before our consultati.n. Edema was the mai. reason for consultati.n. We found a hi.tory of i.fecti.n and hi.h blood pressure i. 30% each, and renal fai.ure i. 10% of the chi.dren. Hematuri. and protei.uri. were detected i. 100% and 90%, respecti.ely. The angi.scanner showed a venous thrombosi. of the ri.ht subclavi.n, a pulmonary emboli.m and the presence of a thrombus i. the aorta. The bi.logy was i. favour of a hi.h level of factor Vi.i.
