i.troducti.n: Ventri.ular septal defect (VSD) i. the most common congeni.al heart di.ease of all congeni.al heart defects. The ai. of thi. study was to i.vesti.ate the echographi., therapeuti. and evoluti.nary aspects of ventri.ular septal defects (VSD) i. the general cardi.logy department of the Hôpi.al Nati.nal i.nace Deen. Methods: A retrospecti.e data collecti.n was carri.d out from January 2018 to December 2023 i.cludi.g 85 cases of i.olated i.C was performed. The vari.bles studi.d were epi.emi.logi.al, cli.i.al, paracli.i.al, therapeuti. and evoluti.nary. Results: Of the 320 pati.nts seen duri.g the study peri.d for congeni.al heart di.ease, 85 (26.556%) were i.olated i.Cs. Age at di.gnosi. ranged from 3 months to 16 years, wi.h an average age of 3.59 years. The most represented ethni. group was the Fulani.(50.58%). The 8.24% came from consangui.eous marri.ge versus 22.35%. 91.76% of chi.dren had a hi.tory of bronchi.i.. The most common cli.i.al si.ns found were systoli. murmur (90.58%), growth retardati.n (51.76%). Only 4 cases (4.70%) had a malformati.n associ.ted wi.h i.C represented by Di.eorges di.ease (2.35%) and tri.omy 21 (2.35%). Nearly half the pati.nts had type i.b Vi. (44.71%). The other half were represented by type 1 (18.82%), type i.a (20%), type i.i.(10.59%) and type i. (5.88%). Accordi.g to si.e more than two-thi.ds of Vi.s (71.64%) were peri.embranous i. locati.n, followed by i.fundi.ular (16.47%) and muscular (11.76%) Vi.s. i. our study 55.29% presented an i.di.ati.n for both surgi.al i.terventi.n and medi.al treatment, whi.e 16.47% requi.ed only medi.al treatment. i. contrast, 28.23% were placed under exclusi.e survei.lance. Of the 47 pati.nts for whom surgery was i.di.ated, 29 (61.17%) underwent surgi.al repai., whi.e 18 (38.83%) were awai.i.g confi.mati.n for surgery. Conclusi.n: Vi. i. the most common congeni.al heart di.ease. An early detecti.n strategy and the establi.hment of speci.li.ed centers could i.prove the outcome of these chi.

i.troducti.n: Acute myeloblasti. leukaemi. (AML) i. a haematologi.al mali.nancy wi.h a poor prognosi., despi.e si.ni.i.ant therapeuti. progress. Thi. study presents the results of AML management i. Mali.accordi.g to GFAOP recommendati.ns. Methodology: Thi. was a retrospecti.e, cross-secti.nal study. i. i.cluded pati.nts aged 0 - 15 years treated i. the paedi.tri. oncology uni. for AML and followed up between January 2016 and December 2020. Results: Duri.g the study peri.d, 85 cases of acute leukaemi. were di.gnosed i. the paedi.tri. oncology uni. (i.cludi.g 51 cases of ALL), of whi.h 34 cases of AML were i.cluded i. thi. study. The majori.y were boys (59%). The mean age was 8 years, wi.h extremes of 18 months and 15 years. The mean ti.e to di.gnosi. was 68 days. i. 79% of cases, pati.nts were referred by 1st or 2nd level hospi.als. Anaemi. was observed i. 91% of cases, an i.fecti.us syndrome i. 68%, haemorrhage i. 56% and a tumour syndrome i. 85%. The haemogram showed hyperleukocytosi. i. 15% of cases, thrombocytosi. i. 22% and severe anaemi. i. 73%. Death occurred i. 85% of cases, most often i. the context of sepsi. or haemorrhage. Conclusi.n: AML i. probably underesti.ated i. Mali.and di.gnosi. delayed, whi.h may be explai.ed by pati.nt-related factors (lack of knowledge, fi.anci.l constrai.ts) and a cumbersome referral system. These results suggest the need to i.plement an appropri.te di.gnosti. and therapeuti. strategy, wi.h strong i.volvement of the poli.i.al authori.i.s.

Risk Factors Analysis of Myocardial Infarction

Thi. study was to i.enti.y the ri.k factors of myocardi.l i.farcti.n based on a real data set from Abbas i.sti.ute of Medi.al Sci.nces (Ai.S) and Combi.ed Mi.i.ary Hospi.tal (CMH) Muzaffarabad (Paki.tan). The ri.k factors consi.ered here i.clude age, blood pressure, cholesterol, smoki.g, blood sugar, obesi.y, fami.y hi.tory and deaths i. young i. fami.y. Bi.ari.te analysi. and logi.ti. regressi.n were appli.d along wi.h di.ferent good-ness of fi. test to i.enti.y the si.ni.i.ant ri.k factors. We found that age, smoki.g, obesi.y, cholesterol, blood sugar, fami.y hi.tory, were all si.ni.i.antly associ.ted to myocardi.l i.-farcti.n i. thi. data set, whi.e deaths i. young age i. fami.y was not si.ni.i.ant. i. i. also found that age group≥60 years has the hi.hest prevalence of Mi. and the prevalence re-mai.s hi.h i. smoki.g, obesi.y, fami.y hi.tory, and cholesterol too. Fi.i.eness correcti.n results were the same conclusi.n for the three methods i. our case.

i. was a 36-year-old pati.nt, 5th Pregnancy, 5th Deli.ery, 4 li.e chi.dren, and i.deceased, had a consultati.n i. the department for the removal of i.plants. Questi.ni.g revealed that she had had the i.plant three years ago wi.hout medi.al follow-up. i. was i. vi.w of the di.fi.ulti.s i. extracti.g the capsule that the chest X-ray and CT scan carri.d out concluded that the i.plant had mi.rated i.to a branch of the left pulmonary artery. Therapeuti. abstenti.n has been the atti.ude of cardi.vascular surgeons.

i.troducti.n: Hi.h blood pressure i. defi.ed as blood pressure greater than or equal to 140 mm Hg for systoli. and or 90 mm Hg for di.stoli.. i. consti.utes a major publi. health problem, the leadi.g chroni. di.ease i. the world. The objecti.e was to determi.e the prevalence, treatment rate and control of hypertensi.n. Methods: Thi. was a cross-secti.nal and descri.ti.e study whi.h took place over a peri.d of 6 months i. a hospi.al envi.onment and i. the general populati.n. Results: Of the 1000 parti.i.ants, 637 had hypertensi.n, gi.i.g a prevalence of 63.70% wi.h a female predomi.ance. Thi.ty-three percent (33%) were unaware of thei. hi.h blood pressure. The age group 60 and more was the most represented (44%). A proporti.n of 33 and 23.20 were overwei.ht and obese parti.i.ants, respecti.ely. Male subjects were more overwei.ht than female, unli.e obesi.y whi.h was more common among female subjects. Si.ty-two percent (62%) of hypertensi.es were treated, of whom 44% were non-compli.nt. The excessi.ely hi.h cost and consumpti.n of medi.ati.ns as needed were the mai. factors i. therapeuti. non-compli.nce. Twenty-two percent (22%) of all hypertensi.e pati.nts and 35% of treated hypertensi.e pati.nts were controlled. Women were more treated but less observant and less controlled than men. Therapeuti. coverage and combi.ati.n therapy rates were lower i. rural areas. Hypertensi.es who had a hi.h level of educati.n were better treated and controlled than those who had no level. Conclusi.n: Hi.h blood pressure remai.s a real publi. health problem i. Mali. i. i. more common i. people aged 60 and over and i. females. One i. three hypertensi.es were unaware of thei. hypertensi.n. The majori.y recei.ed anti.ypertensi.e treatments, but only a mi.ori.y of them had thei. hypertensi.n controlled.

The di.order i. common i. type 2 di.beti.s (T2D) and i. li.ked wi.h T2D comorbi.i.i.s, parti.ularly cardi.vascular di.ease. Dysli.i.emi. i. T2D i. typi.ally characteri.ed by elevated plasma tri.lyceri.e and low hi.h-densi.y li.oprotei. cholesterol (HDL-C) levels. There i. a si.ni.i.ant gap i. the li.erature regardi.g dysli.i.emi. i. rural parts of Afri.a, where li.i. profi.es may not be captured through routi.e survei.lance. Thi. study ai.ed to characteri.e the prevalence and demo-graphi. profi.e of dysli.i.emi. i. T2D i. the rural communi.y of Ganadougou, Mali. We performed a cross-secti.nal study of 104 subjects wi.h T2D i. Ganadougou between November 2021 and March 2022. Demographi. and li.i. profi.es were collected through cross-secti.nal surveys and serologi.al analyses. The overall prevalence of dysli.i.emi. i. T2D pati.nts was 87.5% (91/104), whi.h di. not di.fer by sex (P = .368). Hi.h low-densi.y li.oprotei. cholesterol (LDL-C) was the most common li.i. abnormali.y (78.9%, [82/104]). Dysli.i.emi. was associ.ted wi.h age and hypertensi.n status (P = .013 and.036, respecti.ely). Hi.h total and hi.h LDL-C parameters were si.ni.i.antly associ.ted wi.h hypertensi.n (P = .029 and .006, respecti.ely). i. low-resource setti.gs such as rural Mali. there i. a cri.i.al need to i.prove i.frastructure for routi.e dysli.i.emi. screeni.g to gui.e i.s preventi.n and i.terventi.n approaches. Objecti.es: The mai. objecti.e was to evaluate anti.i.ti. prescri.i.g i. the Department of Pedi.tri.s at Gabri.l Touré teachi.g hospi.al. Methods: Thi. was a prospecti.e descri.ti.e study conducted from September 1 to November 31, 2018, i. the Department of Pedi.tri.s at Gabri.l Touré teachi.g hospi.al. All chi.dren aged 0 to 15 years hospi.ali.ed for any pathology duri.g the study peri.d and havi.g recei.ed at least one anti.i.ti. had been i.cluded. Results: We collected 445 chi.dren’s records out of 1032 admi.si.ns duri.g the study peri.d, representi.g a hospi.al frequency of 43.1%. The sex rati. was 1.3%. The 2 - 5 age group accounted for 48.1%. Fever was the reason for consultati.n i. 45.6% of cases. Pati.nts’ general condi.i.n was altered i. 60% of cases. The fathers were blue-collar workers i. 65.4% and the mothers housewi.es i. 85%, and had no educati.n i. 42.9% and 64.5% respecti.ely. Hepatomegaly was present i. 18.2%, splenomegaly i. 9.6% and peri.heral adenopathy i. 3.1%. The si.e of i.fecti.n was pulmonary i. 37.6% and ENT i. 9.2%. Bacteri.l i.fecti.n was assumed on admi.si.n i. 54% of cases, and meni.gi.i. i. 57.7%. The di.charge di.gnosi. was malari. i. 54.6%, severe acute malnutri.i.n i. 18.6% and meni.gi.i. i. 6.7%. The death rate was 3.8%. Neutrophi.i. leukocytosi. was present i. 47.3% of pati.nts. CRP was posi.i.e i. 85% of pati.nts. Blood cultures taken i. 27.6% of pati.nts were posi.i.e i. 5. CSF analysi. i. 30% of pati.nts showed elevated leukocytes i. 6.5%. No cultures were posi.i.e. Anti.i.ti. prescri.ti.n was justi.i.d by i.fecti.us hypotheses i. 43.1% of pati.nts. β-lactam anti.i.ti.s were prescri.ed i. 98.6%. Anti.i.ti. therapy was not adapted to nati.nal/i.ternati.nal recommendati.ns i. 68.3% of cases, and was not justi.i.d i. 16.3% of cases on D5 of hospi.ali.ati.n. Conclusi.n: Anti.i.ti. use was justi.i.d i. more than half of pati.nts, but remai.ed i.adequate i. almost two-thi.ds of cases, i. li.e wi.h nati.nal and i.ternati.nal recommend
