i.troducti.n: Despi.e the use of less i.vasi.e and i.creasi.gly effecti.e techni.ues i. order to reduce the morbi.mortali.y per and post-operati.e, the CPPO remai. an i.portant problem i. surgery. Objecti.es: To determi.e the rate of per and post-operati.e compli.ati.ns, to descri.e the types of compli.ati.ns and to i.enti.y thei. ri.k factors. Methodology: Thi. was a prospecti.e study carri.d out from 04 Apri. to 03 June 2016 i. the surgi.al department of CHU-Gabri.l TOURE. All pati.nts aged 18 and over operated i. the Surgi.al Department (General Surgery, Gynaecology and Obstetri.s, Urology, Traumatology, Otolaryngology, Neurosurgery and Emergency Department), havi.g been hospi.ali.ed at least for 24 hours after surgery, were retai.ed. The method of sampli.g N=P(1-P)Za2/i. was used;the mi.i.um si.e necessary was 209 pati.nts. We conducted i.vi.ati.ns and the phone call to determi.e the occurrence of compli.ati.ns and survi.al of pati.nts up to 30 days after surgery. Results: We counted 262 pati.nts, of whom 142 (54.2%) were women and 120 (45.8%) were men wi.h a sex rati. = 0.85. The average age was 41.48 years, wi.h extremes of 18 and 86 years. We found 71 compli.ati.ns i. 61 pati.nts, an early CPPO rate of 23.28%. The vari.us compli.ati.ns encountered were: uri.ary tract i.fecti.ns (26.76%), surgi.al si.e i.fecti.ns (28.17%), pulmonary i.fecti.ns (12.68%) and Deaths (21.13%). The occurrence of compli.ati.ns prolonged the hospi.al stay by 6 days and i.creased the average cost of care of 102,700 FCFA. Accordi.g to Clavi.n Di.do’s classi.i.ati.n, the severe postoperati.e compli.ati.n i. our seri.s was 9.16% (grade i.i.+ i. + V). Factors favori.g the occurrence of CPPO were age > 41 years old, ASA > i., the classes of Altemei.r 3 and 4, NNi.S score 1 and 2, di.betes and hemoglobi. rate 8 g/dl. The progress made i. the knowledge of the i.mune functi.ns of the spleen and the fear of post-splenectomy i.fecti.us compli.ati.ns have favored the development of surgi.al or non-surgi.al spleni. preservati.n techni.ues calli.g i.to questi.n the dogma of splenectomy. The ai. of thi. study was to determi.e the i.di.ati.ns for splenectomy. Methodology: Thi. was a retrospecti.e, descri.ti.e study lasti.g 5 years i. the general surgery department of the i.nace Deen Nati.nal Hospi.al. All fi.es of splenectomi.ed pati.nts were i.cluded, our vari.bles were cli.i.al, therapeuti. and progressi.e. Results: We collected 42 cases of splenectomi.s out of the 2478 surgi.al procedures performed, representi.g 1.7% of the department’s surgi.al acti.i.i.s. The average age was 44 years. The age group of 41 to 50 years was the most represented, i.e. 26% (n = 11) of cases. Sex rati. = 1. Abdomi.al pai. was the reason for consultati.n i. pati.nts, i.e. 100% (n = 42) of cases. The antecedents were domi.ated by recurrent malari. wi.h 52.3% (n = 22) of cases, then recurrent anemi. i. 21% (n = 9), and 16.7% (n = 7) had si.kle cell di.ease. Splenomegaly was found i. 31 pati.nts, or 73.6%. Ultrasound was performed i. all pati.nts. The i.di.ati.ns for splenectomy were: i.olated splenomegaly wi.h ri.k of rupture (38%, n = 16), hyperspleni.m (26%, n = 11) and trauma to the spleen (19.04%, n = 8). Total splenectomy was performed i. all cases. The surgi.al consequences were favorable i. 85.7%, (n = 36) wi.h morbi.i.y of 14% (n = 6) and mortali.y of 9.52% (n = 4). The average length of hospi.ali.ati.n was 10.4 days wi.h extremes of 1 and 22 days. Conclusi.n: Splenectomy consti.utes a relati.ely common surgi.al procedure i. our context. Materi.ls and methods: i. was a retrospecti.e, descri.ti.e and analyti.al study on fi.es of si.kle cell pati.nts hospi.ali.ed i. the Hematology-Oncology Department of Donka Uni.ersi.y Hospi.al duri.g a peri.d from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2019. Records of si.kle cell pati.nts wi.h one or more renal abnormali.i.s were retai.ed. Si.kle cell pati.nts wi.hout ki.ney damage were also selected for a comparati.e study. Only pati.nts wi.hout si.kle cell di.ease were excluded. Results: Seventy-fi.e (75) medi.al records were collected duri.g the study peri.d. From these cases, thi.teen (13) records wi.h ki.ney di.ease were observed, a frequency of 17%. The mean age of pati.nts was 24.2 years for extremes of 10 and 65 years. The sex rati. was 1.6 i. favor of men. The SSFA2 form was the most represented wi.h 92%. 24-hour protei.uri. was measured i. 13 pati.nts between whom 6 pati.nts (46.2%) had a protei.uri. level ≤ 1 g. Ei.ht (8) pati.nts (61.5%) were i. stage 1 of chroni. ki.ney di.ease. The most common type of renal i.volvement was tubulo-i.tersti.i.l nephropathy wi.h 8 pati.nts (61.5%). Pleomorphi. adenoma i. the most common tumor of the sali.ary glands, accounti.g for approxi.ately 50% of sali.ary gland lesi.ns. i. develops mai.ly i. the sali.ary glands: paroti. (80%), submaxi.lary (10%), subli.gual (1%) and i. the accessory oral-pharyngeal glands (9%). The ai. of thi. work was to report 2 cases of pleomorphi. adenoma of atypi.al locati.n and then to di.cuss the di.fi.ulti.s li.ked to i.s di.gnosti. and therapeuti. management i. the Mali.n context. They were a 40-year-old man and a 72-year-old woman. They were admi.ted to the ENT department of the “Luxembourg Mere-i.fant” hospi.al for oropharyngeal swelli.g for the fi.st and swelli.g of the palate for the second. The cli.i.al expressi.n was a swelli.g i. both cases, of a hard, mobi.e consi.tency wi.h healthy mucosa on thei. surface. The remai.der of the physi.al exami.ati.n was unremarkable. The di.gnosi. of a tumor of the oropharynx and palate was made followi.g cli.i.al radi.logi.al exami.ati.ns. The hi.topathologi.al exami.ati.n of the surgi.al speci.en made i. possi.le to make the di.gnosi. of pleomorphi. adenoma of the palate and the left palati.e tonsi.. The follow-up surgery was strai.htforward, wi.h a favorable outcome. Pleomorphi. adenomas are relati.ely rare beni.n tumors of the accessory sali.ary glands;thei. cli.i.al expressi.n remai.s swelli.g. Therapeuti. management i. surgery and the di.gnosi. i. confi.med by hi.topathologi.al exami.ati.n.

Hemangi.blastomas are beni.n vascular tumors of the brai.. These are rare tumors, usually located i. the cerebellum and most often affecti.g young adults. The ai. was to study the value of CT i. the management of hemangi.blastoma through observati.n. We report the case of a 38-year-old pati.nt referred to the radi.logy and Medi.al i.agi.g Department of the Mari. Curi. Medi.al Cli.i. i. Bamako, Mali. for an orbi.o-cerebral CT scan i. a context of bi.ateral eyeli. edema. The exami.ati.n was performed usi.g multi.sli.e computed tomography (16 sli.es) wi.h reconstructi.n i. the 3 planes of space wi.hout and wi.h the i.jecti.n of an i.di.ated contrast agent. The CT scan was cruci.l i. maki.g the di.gnosi. of hemangi.blastoma i.ci.entally, whi.h allowed for adequate management. The pati.nt was operated on, and the radi.logi.al outcome was favorable, wi.hout si.ni.i.ant cysti. formati.n, after postoperati.e control and cli.i.al si.ns were resolved. Pati.nts and Methods: Thi. i. a retrospecti.e cross-secti.nal study conducted between January 2018 and December 2021 at the Uni.ersi.y Hospi.al Center of Bouaké. i.cluded were all pati.nts aged ≥18 wi.h normal transami.ases (Results: Our study i.cluded 241 pati.nts, wi.h a mean age of 36.19 years (±10.52 years) and a male predomi.ance of 52%. The mean Fi.roScan® value was 6.44 ± 2.3 kPa, and 68 pati.nts (28.22%) had fi.rosi. >7 kPa. To exclude si.ni.i.ant fi.rosi. Mali.i. sti.l i. i.s begi.ni.g compared to other countri.s i. the sub-regi.n. The lack of data i. Mali.prompted thi. study, whi.h ai.ed to evaluate the i.di.ati.ns of thi. acti.i.y and i.s di.gnosti. contri.uti.n to cardi.logy i. Mali. Materi.ls and Methods: Thi. was a retrospecti.e, descri.ti.e study. The study was conducted at the “TOUCAM” medi.al cli.i. i. Kati.based on the analysi. of stress test reports between January 2016 and August 2022. Result: Duri.g the study peri.d, we documented 73 pati.nts who underwent exerci.e testi.g on a bi.ycle ergometer for suspected coronary heart di.ease. The mean age of our pati.nts was 47.5 ± 13.8 years (14 and 79 years). Males accounted for the majori.y (78.1%). The sex rati. i. 3.5. More than half of our pati.nts were overwei.ht or obese (77.1%). Hypertensi.n and di.betes affected 52.1% and 25.8% of pati.nts, respecti.ely. 20.8% of pati.nts had coronary artery di.ease. reni.-angi.tensi.-aldosterone system blockers (56.8%) and beta-blockers (51.3%). The mai. i.di.ati.ns were chest pai. (63.0%) and i.chemi. detecti.n (15.1%). A modi.i.d STEEP protocol was used. The majori.y of our pati.nts (71.2%) achi.ved at least 85% of thei. maxi.um theoreti.al heart rate. The mai. reason for the termi.ati.n of the study was fati.ue (57.3%). The average durati.n was 11.3 ± 4.2 mi.utes. 24.7% thought the stress tests were posi.i.e and 17.8% thought they were controversi.l. Conclusi.n: Thi. study demonstrates the i.portance of stress testi.g i. the di.gnosi. and treatment of i.chemi. heart di.ease, especi.lly i. setti.gs where we have very li.i.ed access to coronary angi.graphy.

i.troducti.n: A thyroi. nodule i. a locali.ed hypertrophy wi.hi. the thyroi. parenchyma. The ai. of our study was to study the benefi. of ultrasound i. the Ti.rads classi.i.ati.n of thyroi. nodules. Methodology: Thi. was a prospecti.e study wi.h a descri.ti.e ai., wi.h prospecti.e collecti.n, whi.h took place over a peri.d of 17 months at the “Mari. Curi.” medi.al cli.i.. The ultrasound machi.e used was a Voluson E8 from 2011 and the exami.ati.ns were carri.d out by two radi.logi.ts and two experi.nced sonographers. The parameters studi.d were soci.demographi. data;cli.i.al data and ultrasound aspects of the Ti.rads classi.i.ati.n i. the management of nodules. Results: We collected 235 pati.nts out of 738 pati.nts referred to the servi.e for a cervi.al ultrasound, i.e. a frequency of 31.84% of cases. There was a female predomi.ance wi.h 95.7% of cases and a sex rati. of 0.04. The average age of our pati.nts was 50 years. We found on cervi.al ultrasound: i.thmo-lobar glandular hyperplasi. i. 99 pati.nts, i.e. a frequency of 42.1%. The Ti.rads 3 classi.i.ati.n was the most represented i. 69.4% of cases. The beni.ni.y cri.eri.n represented 85.6% of cases i. our pati.nts and the mali.nancy cri.eri.n represented 14.4% of cases. Conclusi.n: The preci.e descri.ti.n of a thyroi. nodule provi.ed by ultrasound (Ti.rads) i. essenti.l i. the management of nodules.

Methodology: Thi. was a si.gle centre cross-secti.nal study from 30 January 2018 to 30 June 2020 i. the cardi.logy department of the Ségou regi.nal hospi.al. All consenti.g pati.nts, regardless of age or sex hospi.ali.ed i. the department for peri.ardi.i. confi.med on cardi.c ultrasound were i.cluded. Data were collected usi.g an i.di.i.ual pati.nt follow-up form recordi.g soci.demographi., cli.i.al, bi.logi.al, electrocardi.graphi. and echocardi.graphi. data, as well as the course of the di.ease. Results: Out of 879 pati.nts hospi.ali.ed, the hospi.al frequency was 7.28%. Females predomi.ated, wi.h a sex rati. of 0.42. More than half the pati.nts were aged 45 or younger (59.4%). The mean age of pati.nts was 41.8 ± 18.1 years. Cardi.vascular ri.k factors were domi.ated by hypertensi.n and smoki.g (46.9% and 12.5% respecti.ely). The reasons for consultati.n were dyspnoea (84.3%), chest pai. (54.7%), cough (71.9%) and fever (34.4%). Physi.al si.ns i.cluded muffled heart sounds (76.6%), tachycardi. (70.3%), peri.ardi.l fri.ti.n (17.2%) and si.ns of peri.heral stasi. i. 53.1% of cases. We observed elevated C-reacti.e protei.
