Photodynamic treatment of subcutaneous tumors in mice with photofrin Ⅱ and Argon ion laser

OBJECTiVE To investigate the combined effects of photofrin (Pf) Ⅱ and laser irradiation on mice bearing subcutaneous tumors.METHODS Ehrlish ascites tumor cells (1×107) were implanted subcutaneously into the breast area of iCR mice. The tumors, when grew up to 0.55±0.15cm3, was administered of laser irradiation (514.5nm, 112.5mW/cm2 for 11.12 min with a total energy 75J/cm2) after intraperitoneal injection of Pf Ⅱ (5, 7.5, 10 and 15mg/kg body weight) once a day for three successive days.RESULTS The mortality rate (MR120) in the tumor control was 93.7% and the mean survival time (MST120) was 46.6 days. The best therapeutic effect (50% mortality rate, 53.8% tumor control rate and mean survival time 86 days) was observed in the group treated with 7.5mg of Pf Ⅱ per kg of body weight and total irradiation energy of 75J/cm2 (112.5mW/cm2 for 11.12 min) with 514.5nm argon ion laser light.CONCLUSiONS The effect on the survival rate of tumor cells and synthetic rates of DNA, RNA and protein were obviously inhibited, as the dose of pf Ⅱ and laser irradiation increased.

BACKGROUND Gastric igG4-related disease(igG4-RD)is rarely encountered in clinical practice,and especially more so among pediatric patients.To our knowledge,this is the first report of igG4-RD presenting as a calcifying gastric mass in a child.We describe how this entity was difficult to differentiate from a gastrointestinal stromal tumor(GiST)imaging-based approaches.Therefore,this case highlights the importance of considering igG4-RD in the differential diagnosis of gastric tumor before performing surgical resection,especially to distinguish it from malignancy to avoid unnecessary surgery.CASE SUMMARY The patient suffered from epigastric pain for several days.Panendoscopy and computed tomography scan revealed a submucosal tumor.Differential diagnoses included GiST,leiomyoma,teratoma,and mucinous adenocarcinoma.However,laparoscopic proximal gastrectomy allowed for the definitive diagnosis of igG4-related stomach disease.CONCLUSiON We emphasize the importance of considering igG4-RD in the differential diagnosis of gastric submucosal tumors before performing surgical resection.

BACKGROUND Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma(AiTL)is a common subtype of peripheral T-cell lymphoma.Approximately half of patients with AiTL may concurrently present with hypergammaglobulinemia.increased numbers of plasma cells in the bone marrow are commonly observed at diagnosis.These tumors mimic plasma cell myelomas,hindering a conundrum of clinical diagnoses and potentially delaying appropriate treatment.CASE SUMMARY A 78-year-old woman experienced poor appetite,weight loss of 5 kg,fatigue 2 months before presentation,and shortness of breath 2 d before presentation,but no fever or night sweats.Physical examination revealed splenomegaly and many palpable masses over the bilateral axillary regions,approximately>2 cm in size,with rubbery consistency and no tenderness.Blood tests revealed anemia and thrombocytopenia,lactate dehydrogenase level of 153 U/L,total protein level of 10.9 g/dL,albumin to globulin ratio of 0.2,and immunoglobulin G level more than the upper limit of 3000 mg/dL.The free kappa and lambda light chain concentrations were 451 and 614 mg/L,respectively.A pathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of AiTL.The initial treatment was the cyclophosphamide,epirubicin,vincristine,and prednisolone regimen.Following this treatment,pleural effusion was controlled,and the patient was discharged in a stable condition and followed up in our outpatient department.CONCLUSiON This report highlights the importance of differentiating reactive plasmacytosis from plasma cell myeloma in patients with hypergammaglobulinemia.A precise diagnosis of AiTL requires a comprehensive evaluation,involving clinical,immunophenotypic,and histological findings conducted by a multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate treatment.

Early leisure agriculture only offered services like crop picking and farm products tasting to visitors.The services provided are relatively bland and unable to meet the diversified needs of visitors.in recent years,the leisure agriculture has developed into,mainly,the city farms, leisure farms,flower markets,tea exhibition centers and more.Those offering larger space,residency and facilities for activities are the most attractive to visitors.in leisure farm management,in control of visitors’ needs and good marketing sales strategy are very important.in this study,a questionnaire is designed to study visitors’ demands from leisure farms.Statistical analysis reveals that understanding the needs and expectations of visitors as well as defining the role of leisure farms are important for making the right marketing strategy and to remain competitive.

BACKGROUND Annually,there are an estimated 1187000 new patients worldwide diagnosed with haematological malignancies.Effective strategies are needed to alleviate side effects and prevent the physical and psychosocial degeneration of patients in active treatment for haematological malignancies.AiM To explore the effects of physical exercise on quality of life(Qo L)of patients with haematological malignancies and thrombocytopenia.METHODS Cochrane Library,Pub Med and Embase were searched for all relevant articles reporting randomized controlled trials(RCTs)that were published up to 31 July 2021.Two authors independently selected articles in accordance with the inclusion criteria,evaluated their quality,and collected information.Any controversy was resolved through discussion with a third senior author.The PRiSMA 2009 checklist was followed.RESULTS Seven RCTs were selected in the systematic review and three were included in the final meta-analysis.There were significant differences in Qo L between physical exercise groups[mean score difference=8.81;95%confidence interval(Ci):1.81-15.81,P=0.01],especially in emotional functioning(mean score difference=12.34;95%Ci:4.64-20.04,P=0.002)and pain(mean score difference=–12.77;95%Ci:-3.91 to-21.63,P=0.005).CONCLUSiON Physical exercise has clinical effects on Qo L and improves emotional function and pain indices of patients with haematological malignancies and thrombocytopenia.

Most real estate agents develop new objects by visiting unfamiliar clients, distributing leaflets, or browsing other real estate trading website platforms,whereas consumers often rely on websites to search and compare prices when purchasing real property. in addition to being time consuming, this search processrenders it difficult for agents and consumers to understand the status changes ofobjects. in this study, Python is used to write web crawler and image recognitionprograms to capture object information from the web pages of real estate agents;perform data screening, arranging, and cleaning;compare the text of real estateobject information;as well as integrate and use the convolutional neural networkof a deep learning algorithm to implement image recognition. in this study, dataare acquired from two business-to-consumer real estate agency networks, i.e., theSinyi real estate agent and the Yungching real estate agent, and one consumer-toconsumer real estate agency platform, i.e., the, FiveNineOne real estate agent. Theresults indicate that text mining can reveal the similarities and differences betweenthe objects, list the number of days that the object has been available for sale onthe website, and provide the price fluctuations and fluctuation times during thesales period. in addition, 213,325 object amplification images are used as a database for training using deep learning algorithms, and the maximum image recognition accuracy achieved is 95%. The dynamic recommendation system for realestate objects constructed by combining text mining and image recognition systems enables developers in the real estate industry to understand the differencesbetween their commodities and other businesses in approximately 2 min, as wellas rapidly determine developable objects via comparison results provided by thesystem. Meanwhile, consumers require less time in searching and comparingprices after they have understood the commodity dynamic information, therebyallowing them to use the most efficient approach to purchase

BACKGROUND The prevalence of type 2 diabetes(T2D)has been increasing dramatically in recent decades,and 47.5%of T2D patients will die of cardiovascular disease.Thallium-201 myocardial perfusion scan(MPS)is a precise and noninvasive method to detect coronary artery disease(CAD).Most previous studies used traditional logistic regression(LGR)to evaluate the risks for abnormal CAD.Rapidly developing machine learning(Mach-L)techniques could potentially outperform LGR in capturing non-linear relationships.AiM To aims were:(1)Compare the accuracy of Mach-L methods and LGR;and(2)Found the most important factors for abnormal TMPS.METHODS 556 T2D were enrolled in the study(287 men and 269 women).Demographic and biochemistry data were used as independent variables and the sum of stressed score derived from MPS scan was the dependent variable.Subjects with a MPS score≥9 were defined as abnormal.in addition to traditional LGR,classification and regression tree(CART),random forest,Naïve Bayes,and eXtreme gradient boosting were also applied.Sensitivity,specificity,accuracy and area under the receiver operation curve were used to evaluate the respective accuracy of LGR and Mach-L methods.RESULTS Except for CART,the other Mach-L methods outperformed LGR,with gender,body mass index,age,low-density lipoprotein cholesterol,glycated hemoglobin and smoking emerging as the most important factors to predict abnormal MPS.CONCLUSiON Four Mach-L methods are found to outperform LGR in predicting abnormal TMPS in Chinese T2D,with the most important risk factors being gender,body mass index,age,low-density lipoprotein cholesterol,glycated hemoglobin and smoking.

BACKGROUND Cholangiocarcinoma(CC)is a very aggressive cancer with a poor prognosis.As surgery is the only curative therapy,preoperative evaluation of the tumor extent is essential for surgical planning.Although high-quality image modalities such as computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging have been used extensively in preoperative evaluation,the accuracy is low.To obtain precise localization of tumor spread arising from the hilar region preoperatively,the development of an acceptable imaging modality is still an unmet need.CASE SUMMARY A 52-year-old female presented to our emergency department with jaundice,abdominal pain,and fever.initially,she was treated for cholangitis.Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography with the cholangiogram showed long segment filling defect in the common hepatic duct with dilatation of bilateral intrahepatic ducts.Transpapillary biopsy was performed,and the pathology suggested intraductal papillary neoplasm with high-grade dysplasia.After treatment of cholangitis,contrasted-enhanced computed tomography revealed a hilar lesion with undetermined Bismuth-Corlette classification.SpyGlass cholan gioscopy showed that the lesion involved the confluence of the common hepatic duct with one skip lesion in the posterior branch of the right intrahepatic duct,which was not detected by previous image modalities.The surgical plan was modified from extended left hepatectomy to extended right hepatectomy.The final diagnosis was hilar CC,pT2aN0M0.The patient has remained disease-free for more than 3 years.CONCLUSiON SpyGlass cholangioscopy may have a role in precision localization of hilar CC to provide surgeons with more information before the operation.

Dispersion and surface deposition of charged particles by gas-solids jets in confined chambers are constantly encountered in many industrial applications such as in electrostatic precipitation and dry powder coating processes. Understanding and control of flow patterns and trajectories of charged particles are important to the optimal design and operation of such devices. in this study, modeling of flow fields and particle trajectories of dilute gas-solid two-phase flows with charged particles in confined chambers is performed. The dilute gas-solid two-phase flows are simulated by use of a hybrid Eulerian-Lagrangian approach with the one-way coupling between the gaseous phase and particle phase. The space charge distribution is included as a source term in equations of motion or Lagrangian equation of charged particles, which in turn depends on the particle trajectories that determine the space charge distribution. Our modeling predictions suggested that the electrostatic charge plays a significant role in particle radial dispersion. Effect of voltage has limited influence on particle trajectories however it can have a big impact on the residence time. Cone angle has a significant effect on the structure of flow field. For cone with a larger cone angle （typically over 15°）, there will be a flow separation along the side wall near the flow entrance region. By comparing with the conical chamber, the cylindrical chamber has a big vortex and three smaller vortexes in the lower part of the chamber, which would complicate the particle dispersion with or without the coupling of charging.
