Data-driven modeling on anisotropic mechanical behavior of brain tissue with internal pressure

Brain tissue is one of the softest parts of the human body,composed of white matter and grey *** mechanical behavior of the brain tissue plays an essential role in regulating brain morphology and brain ***,traumatic brain injury(TBi)and various brain diseases are also greatly influenced by the brain's mechanical *** white matter or grey matter,brain tissue contains multiscale structures composed of neurons,glial cells,fibers,blood vessels,etc.,each with different mechanical *** such,brain tissue exhibits complex mechanical behavior,usually with strong nonlinearity,heterogeneity,and directional *** a constitutive law for multiscale brain tissue using traditional function-based approaches can be very ***,this paper proposes a data-driven approach to establish the desired mechanical model of brain *** focus on blood vessels with internal pressure embedded in a white or grey matter matrix material to demonstrate our *** matrix is described by an isotropic or anisotropic nonlinear elastic model.A representative unit cell(RUC)with blood vessels is built,which is used to generate the stress-strain data under different internal blood pressure and various proportional displacement loading *** generated stress-strain data is then used to train a mechanical law using artificial neural networks to predict the macroscopic mechanical response of brain tissue under different internal ***,the trained material model is implemented into finite element software to predict the mechanical behavior of a whole brain under intracranial pressure and distributed body *** with a direct numerical simulation that employs a reference material model,our proposed approach greatly reduces the computational cost and improves modeling *** predictions made by our trained model demonstrate sufficient ***,we find that the level of internal blood pressur

Perfect spin filtering controlled by an electric field in a bilayer graphene junction:Effect of layer-dependent exchange energy

Magneto transport of carriers with a spin-dependent gap in a ferromagnetic-gated bilayer of graphene is *** focus on the effect of an energy gap induced by the mismatch of the exchange fields in the top and bottom layers of an AB-stacked graphene bilayer. The interplay of the electric and exchange fields causes the electron to acquire a spindependent energy gap. We find that, only in the case of the anti-parallel configuration, the effect of a magnetic-induced gap will give rise to perfect spin filtering controlled by the electric field. The resolution of the spin filter may be enhanced by varying the bias voltage. Perfect switching of the spin polarization from ＋100% to -100% by reversing the direction of electric field is predicted. Giant magnetoresistance is predicted to be easily realized when the applied electric field is smaller than the magnetic energy gap. it should be pointed out that the perfect spin filter is due to the layer-dependent exchange energy. This work points to the potential application of bilayer graphene in spintronics.

Josephson Effect in Graphene： Comparison of Real and Pseudo Vector Potential Barriers

The Josephson currents through real vector potential （RVP） and pseudo vector potential （PVP） barriers in graphene are investigated. in graphene, the pseudo vector potential may be caused by a local strain. The comparison of supercurrents induced by the two type-barriers is focused. As a result, we find that not only will the RVP induce a transition Josephson current from the 0→π state but also causes the difference in the phases of the order parameters of the two superconducting graphene layers to shift from φ→2φ. The critical current is PVP-independent around the neutrality point while it strongly depends on the RVP. The vector potential dependence of critical current is found to be perfectly linear for both PVP and RVP barriers.

Nuclear charge radius predictions by kernel ridge regression with odd-even effects

The extended kernel ridge regression(EKRR)method with odd-even effects was adopted to improve the description of the nuclear charge radius using five commonly used nuclear *** are:(i)the isospin-dependent A^(1∕3) formula,(ii)relativistic continuum Hartree-Bogoliubov(RCHB)theory,(iii)Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov(HFB)model HFB25,(iv)the Weizsacker-Skyrme(WS)model WS*,and(v)HFB25**** the last two models,the charge radii were calculated using a five-parameter formula with the nuclear shell corrections and deformations obtained from the WS and HFB25 models,*** each model,the resultant root-mean-square deviation for the 1014 nuclei with proton number Z≥8 can be significantly reduced to 0.009-0.013 fm after considering the modification with the EKRR *** best among them was the RCHB model,with a root-mean-square deviation of 0.0092 *** extrapolation abilities of the KRR and EKRR methods for the neutron-rich region were examined,and it was found that after considering the odd-even effects,the extrapolation power was improved compared with that of the original KRR *** strong odd-even staggering of nuclear charge radii of Ca and Cu isotopes and the abrupt kinks across the neutron N=126 and 82 shell closures were also calculated and could be reproduced quite well by calculations using the EKRR method.

A Least-squares-based iterative Method with Better Convergence for PF/OPF in integrated Transmission and Distribution Networks

U-Pb zircon ages and petrogeochemistry and tectonic implications of gabbro and granite in southwest Lahad Datu area of Sabah, Malaysia

The southwest Lahad Datu felsic rocks were previously thought to have formed in the late Triassic as part of the microcontinental crystalline *** on U-Pb ages,geochemistry,and the Hfisotopes of zircon from the southeastern Sabah gabbro and granite,in this study,the tectonic properties of the Sabah area during the Triassic were *** weighted average U-Pb zircon ages of the gabbro and granite samples were determined to be(230.9±2.5)Ma and(207.1±3.3)Ma,*** granite had SiO_(2) contents of 66.54%-79.47%,low TiO_(2) contents of 0.08%-0.3%,Al_(2)O_(3) contents of 10.97%-16.22%,Na_(2)O contents of 5.91 %-6.39%,and low K_(2)O contents of 0.15%-0.65%.The chondrite-normalized rare earth element(REE) patterns exhibit light REE enrichment,with right-sloping *** primitive mantle-normalized trace element spider diagrams exhibit Th,U,La,Sr,and Zr enrichment and Nb,Ta,P and Ti depletions,i.e.,the geochemical characteristics of typical island arc igneous *** tectonic discriminant diagram indicates that the granite is a volcanic arc *** Hf isotopic an alysis of gabbro zircon revealed that the zircons have ε_(Hf)(t)values of 12.08-16.24(mean of 14.32) and two-stage model ages(t_(DM2)) of 223-491 Ma(mean of 347 Ma).This indicates that the diagenetic magma of the gabbro was mainly derived from melting of newly formed crustal *** ophiolite in southeast Sabah has existed since the early Late *** crystalline basement granite in southeastern S abah was emplaced lasted from late Triassic to early *** on previous studies and global plate reconstruction models,it is speculated that the southeastern Sabah granite may have been formed in an island arc setting,i.e.,where the oceanic crust of the Paleo-Tethys Ocean collided with the oceanic crust of the Panthalassa Ocean.

Multi-instance partial-label learning: towards exploiting dual inexact supervision

Weakly supervised machine learning algorithms are able to learn from ambiguous samples or labels, e.g., multi-instance learning or partial-label learning. However, in some real-world tasks, each training sample is associated with not only multiple instances but also a candidate label set that contains one groundtruth label and some false positive labels. Specifically, at least one instance pertains to the ground-truth label while no instance belongs to the false positive labels. in this paper, we formalize such problems as multi-instance partial-label learning(MiPL). Existing multi-instance learning algorithms and partial-label learning algorithms are suboptimal for solving MiPL problems since the former fails to disambiguate a candidate label set, and the latter cannot handle a multi-instance bag. To address these issues, a tailored algorithm named MiPLGP, i.e., multi-instance partial-label learning with Gaussian processes, is *** first assigns each instance with a candidate label set in an augmented label space, then transforms the candidate label set into a logarithmic space to yield the disambiguated and continuous labels via an exclusive disambiguation strategy, and last induces a model based on the Gaussian processes. Experimental results on various datasets validate that MiPLGP is superior to well-established multi-instance learning and partial-label learning algorithms for solving MiPL problems.

Accurate trajectory prediction of surrounding road users is the fundamental input for motion planning,which enables safe autonomous driving on public *** this paper,a safe motion planning approach is proposed based on the deep learning-based trajectory prediction *** begin with,a trajectory prediction model is established based on the graph neural network(GNN)that is trained utilizing the iNTERACTiON ***,the validated trajectory prediction model is used to predict the future trajectories of surrounding road users,including pedestrians and *** addition,a GNN prediction model-enabled motion planner is developed based on the model predictive control ***,two driving scenarios are extracted from the iNTERACTiON dataset to validate and evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed motion planning approach,i.e.,merging and roundabout *** results demonstrate that the proposed method can lower the risk and improve driving safety compared with the baseline method.

Upper and Lower Bounds of the α-Universal Triple i Method for Unified interval implications

Theα-universal triple i(α-UTi)method is a recognized scheme in the field of fuzzy reasoning,whichwas proposed by our research group *** robustness of fuzzy reasoning determines the quality of reasoning algorithms to a large extent,which is quantified by calculating the disparity between the output of fuzzy reasoning with interference and the output without ***,in this study,the interval robustness(embodied as the interval stability)of theα-UTi method is explored in the interval-valued fuzzy *** begin with,the stability of theα-UTi method is explored for the case of an individual rule,and the upper and lower bounds of its results are estimated,using four kinds of unified interval implications(including the R-interval implication,the S-interval implication,the QL-interval implication and the interval t-norm implication).Through analysis,it is found that theα-UTi method exhibits good interval stability for an individual ***,the stability of theα-UTi method is revealed in the case of multiple rules,and the upper and lower bounds of its outcomes are *** results show that theα-UTi method is stable for multiple rules when four kinds of unified interval implications are used,***,theα-UTi reasoning chain method is presented,which contains a chain structure with multiple *** corresponding solutions and their interval perturbations are *** is found that theα-UTi reasoning chain method is stable in the case of chain *** application examples in affective computing are given to verify the stability of theα-*** summary,through theoretical proof and example verification,it is found that theα-UTimethod has good interval robustness with four kinds of unified interval implications aiming at the situations of an individual rule,multi-rule and reasoning chain.
