AiM To determine the role of cartilage oligomeric matrix protein(COMP), interleukin(iL)-6, iL-10 and ratio of iL-6/iL-10 as risk factors of symptomatic lumbar osteoarthritis(OA) in postmenopausal women with estrogen *** Case-control study had been conducted in Sanglah General Hospital from October 2015 until March 2016. The blood samples were obtained and analyzed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELiSA).RESULTS From 44 pairs of samples which divided into 44 samples as case group and 44 samples as control group showed that high level of COMP in estrogen deficiency postmenopausal women were not at risk(OR = 0.7; 95%Ci: 0.261-1.751; P = 0.393) for symptomatic lumbar OA(cut-off point 0.946). Estrogen deficiency in postmenopausal women with the high level of iL-6 had 2.7 times risk(OR = 2.7; 95%Ci: 0.991-8.320; P = 0.033) for symptomatic lumbar OA from the low level of iL-6(cut-off point 2.264). At lower level of iL-10, there was no risk for symptomatic lumbar OA(OR = 0.6; 95%Ci: 0.209-1.798; P = 0.345) than with the higher level of iL-10(cut-off point 6.049). While the high ratio of iL-6/iL-10 level in estrogen deficiency postmenopausal women gave 3.4 times risk(OR = 3.4; 95%Ci: 1.204-11.787; P = 0.011)for symptomatic lumbar OA than the low ratio of iL-6/iL-10 level(cut-off point 0.364).CONCLUSiON High ratio of iL-6/iL-10 plasma level was the highest risk factor for causing symptomatic lumbar OA in postmenopausal women with estrogen deficiency.

Fatty liver disease is defined as liver condition characterized by hepatic steatosis,closely related to pathological conditions in type 2 diabetes and *** high prevalence of fatty liver disease in obese patients with type 2 diabetes reached 70%,reflecting the importance of these conditions with fatty *** the exact pathological mechanism of fatty liver disease,specifically non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)remains not completely revealed,insulin resistance is suggested as the major mechanism that bridged the development of ***,loss of the incretin effect leads to insulin *** incretin is closely related to insulin resistance and the resistance of insulin associated with the development of fatty liver disease,this pathway suggested a potential mechanism that explains the association between type 2 diabetes and ***,recent studies indicated that NAFLD is associated with impaired glucagon-like peptide-1,resulting in decreased incretin ***,improving the incretin effect becomes a reasonable approach to manage fatty liver *** review elucidates the involvement of incretin in fatty liver disease and recent studies of incretin as the management for fatty liver disease.

One-neutron stripping process between^(6)Li and^(209)Bi was studied at 28,30,and 34 MeV using the in-beamγ-ray spectroscopy ***γ-γcoincident analysis clearly identified twoγ-rays feeding the ground and long-lived isomeric states,which were employed to determine the cross *** one-neutron stripping cross sections were similar to the cross sections of complete fusion in the^(6)Li+^(209)Bi system,but the one-neutron stripping cross sections decreased more gradually at the sub-barrier region.A coupled-reaction-channel calculation was performed to study the detailed reaction mechanism of the one-neutron stripping process in^(6)*** calculations indicated that the first excited state of 5 Li is critical in the actual one-neutron transfer mechanism,and the valence proton of 209Bi can be excited to the low-lying excited state in(^(6)Li,^(5)Li)reaction,unlike in the(d,p)reaction.

Objective:Benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)is one of the most common diseases found among elderly *** though multiple risk factors of BPH have been identified in the past,the risk factors which have a direct impact on prostate volume have not been *** this study,we aim to determine the most significant contributing risk factors to prostate volume enlargement by analyzing possible associated risk factors previously ***:This is a quantitative study with an analytical observational design,performed using a retrospective cohort *** sampling was performed on 83 patients who underwent transurethral resection of the prostate(TURP)in Sanglah General Hospital from January to February *** analysis is performed to examine each variable's association with prostate volume followed by a multivariate *** variables were reassessed with path analysis to measure the direct effects,indirect effects,and total effects on prostate ***:Bivariate analysis shows that serum testosterone(R=0.208;p=0.059)and prostate-specific antigen(PSA)level(R=0.626;p=0.001)have a significant association with prostate *** analysis shows that serum PSA(B=1.4;p=0.001;95%confidence interval[95%Ci]=1.039-1.770)and testosterone(B=0.024;p=0.005;95%Ci=0.008-0.041)levels are significant among all the analyzed risk *** is a significant and strong effect of PSA to prostate volume(c=0.636;p=0.001)whereas testosterone has a significant albeit weak effect to prostate volume(c=0.246;p=0.009)based on the total effect of the path ***:Serum testosterone and PSA levels are significantly associated with prostatic volume increase among BPH patients.

The carbon rod of used zinc-carbon battery was investigated in this research to be recycled as biogas desulfurizer. The carbon rod was taken out from the used battery and crushed to become a pellet with about 1 cm long. To increase its performance, the carbon rod was put in solution of KMnO and water then tested its performance as desulfurizer. it is found that the performance of desulfurizer increase by putting about 200 gram of carbon rod in the solution of KMnO with minimum concentration of 20 gram KMnO/liter water. it is suggested during application to use low flow rate of biogas(around 1-3 liters/minute) to achieve maximum performance.

The productivity of maize in Eritrea in general and under semi-arid tropics of Hamelmalo in particular is low because of moisture stress. The low moisture content is ascribed to the low and erratic distribution of rainfall, high temperature, lack of suitable varieties, and competition by weeds and low soil fertility. To overcome some of these problems, a field experiment was carried out to assess the effect of moisture conservation methods (MCM) and plant density on the productivity of two maize (Zea mays L.) varieties under semi-arid tropics of Hamelmalo, Eritrea. The experiment was conducted in split-split plot design with three MCM viz tied ridge, ridge and furrow and flat-bed in main plots;two maize varieties viz early local and 04sadve hybrid in sub plots and three plant densities by manipulating the plant to plant distance viz 35 cm, 25 cm and 15 cm at a fixed 75 cm row spacing in sub-sub plots, each replicated thrice. The experiment was focused in addressing the effective moisture conservation techniques, optimum plant density to each variety thus to improve productivity. The crop experienced 10°C to 34.8°C minimum and maximum temperature, respectively and received 429.1 mm total rainfall. The results of the experiment indicated that among all the combinations, 04sadve hybrid variety sown at 75 cm × 25 cm spacing in ridge and furrow method or at 75 cm × 15 cm spacing in tied ridge or flat-bed method and early local variety sown at 75 cm × 15 cm spacing in flat-bed being statistically at par resulted in significantly higher moisture conservation and consequently higher grain yield (4509 kg·ha-1) and higher water use efficiency. it is, therefore, recommended that tied ridge or flat-bed of moisture conservation method at 15 cm plant spacing and 04sadve is preferable to optimize productivity in Hamelmalo area, Eritrea.

The landscape and the uniqueness of culture is the principal capital of Bali’s tourism industry. The government shows its seriousness by setting the concept of tourism development in Bali as cultural tourism. Sanur is a region in Bali that relies on cultural tourism as a significant magnet in attracting tourists. However, the increasing number of tourists causes negative impacts, such as environmental damage. Applying the right tourism development strategy can help prevent environmental damage. This conceptual study attempts to identify environmental problems in Sanur area based on observation, interviews, focus group discussion, and documentation. This study used a descriptive-qualitative analytical method to formulate a strategy using the concept of 4A: attractions, amenities, accessibilities, and ancillary services that can be approached to develop Sanur into a green tourism destination. Responsible green tourism programs and plans include those that minimize the negative aspects of conventional tourism on the environment and enhance the cultural integrity of local people.

Tourism is one of the largest industries in the world and a promising sector to boost a country’s growth. Bedulu Village in Gianyar Regency, Bali, is a village with high tourism potential. The village has beautiful natural scenery and archaeological heritage sites, which enable tourists to enjoy culture, nature, pilgrimage, and educational tourism. Although some efforts have been made by the locals to improve the quality of tourism, the management of tourism in Bedulu Village is still handled sketchily using a simple system, in addition to a lack of proper human resources and infrastructure. Therefore, Bedulu Village still requires further development for potential tourism attraction in order to become quality tourist destination in the future. The purpose of this study was to analyze the current situation of tourism in Bedulu and determine the necessary development needed for future tourism in Bedulu Village. The data collected from the object of research were analyzed using descriptive-qualitative analytical method. The results from this study are: While Bedulu Village has been adequately prepared in terms of tourist attractions and tourist accommodation, it is still in need of further development in areas, such as infrastructure, marketing, and the empowerment of local community. This will allow the village to stay competitive in the face of mass tourism of nearby places, like Ubud and lead to community’s welfare, which in turn will secure future tourism of Bedulu Village.
