This paper presents a method that combines visibility graph and isovist analyses to investigate the spatia[ and social properties of architectural plans for aged care facilities. The potential of the combined method is examined by measuring the properties of three sets of plans for residential aged care facilities. The first set is a pair of hypothetical, idealized plans, which allegedly reflect the ＂best practice＂ in the industry. The second set comprises a pair of plans for recent Australian designs, and the third set is a pair of plans for South Korean facilities. Results of the computational anatysis of these six plans suggest that social and cultural factors may shape the design of aged care settings and partially explain their international differences. The application of this methodological approach contributes to the understanding of the relation- ship between spaces and their cultural and social properties in the design of aged care facitities.

This paper focuses on detecting diseased signals and arrhythmias classification into two classes:ventricular tachycardia and premature ventricular *** sole purpose of the signal detection is used to determine if a signal has been collected from a healthy or sick *** proposed research approach presents a mathematical model for the signal detector based on calculating the instantaneous frequency(IF).Once a signal taken from a patient is detected,then the classifier takes that signal as input and classifies the target disease by predicting the class *** applying the classifier,templates are designed separately for ventricular tachycardia and premature ventricular *** of a given signal with both the templates are computed in the spectral *** empirical analysis reveals precisions for the detector and the applied classifier are 100%and 77.27%,***,instantaneous frequency analysis provides a benchmark that IF of a normal signal ranges from 0.8 to 1.1 Hz whereas IF range for ventricular tachycardia and premature ventricular contraction is 0.08–0.6 *** indicates a serious loss of high-frequency contents in the spectrum,implying that the heart’s overall activity is slowed *** study may help medical practitioners in detecting the heart disease type based on signal analysis.

In this paper, the authors introduce a class of functionals. This class forms a Banach algebra for the special cases. The main purpose of this paper is to investigate some properties of the modified analytic function space Feynman integral of functionals in the class. Those properties contain various results and formulas which were not obtained in previous papers. Also, the authors establish some relationships involving the first variation via the translation theorem on function space. In particular, the authors establish the Fubini theorem for the modified analytic function space Feynman integral which was not obtained in previous researches yet.

High-speed and high-resolution imaging of surface profiles is critical for the investigation of various structures and mechanical dynamics of micro-and nano-scale *** particular,recent emergence of various nonlinear,transient and complex mechanical dynamics,such as anharmonic vibrations in mechanical resonators,has necessitated real-time surface deformation imaging with higher axial and lateral resolutions,speed,and dynamic ***,real-time capturing of fast and complex mechanical dynamics has been challenging,and direct time-domain imaging of displacements and mechanical motions has been a missing element in studying full-field structural and dynamic ***,by exploiting the electro-optic sampling with a frequency comb,we demonstrate a line-scan time-of-flight(TOF)camera that can simultaneously measure the TOF changes of more than 1000 spatial coordinates with hundreds megapixels/s pixel-rate and sub-nanometre axial resolution over several millimetres *** unique combination of performances enables fast and precise imaging of both complex structures and dynamics in three-dimensional devices and mechanical resonators.

We review the measurement methods and thickness characterization algorithms of semiconductor multilayer ***’s ultrahigh-density,high-energy-efficient three-dimensional semiconductor devices require an iterative semiconductor layer-stacking *** determination of nanometer-scale layer thickness is crucial for reliable semiconductor device *** this paper,we first review the commonly used semiconductor multilayer thickness measurement methods,including destructive and nondestructive measurement ***,we review two approaches for thickness characterization:model-based algorithms using a physical interpretation of multilayer structures and a method using data-driven machine *** the growing importance of semiconductor multilayer devices,we anticipate that this study will help in selecting the most appropriate method for multilayer thickness characterization.

A differentiable neural computer(DNC)is analogous to the Von Neumann machine with a neural network controller that interacts with an external memory through an attention *** DNC’s offer a generalized method for task-specific deep learning models and have demonstrated reliability with reasoning *** this study,we apply a DNC to a language model(LM)*** LM task is one of the reasoning problems,because it can predict the next word using the previous word ***,memory deallocation is a problem in DNCs as some information unrelated to the input sequence is not allocated and remains in the external memory,which degrades ***,we propose a forget gatebased memory deallocation(FMD)method,which searches for the minimum value of elements in a forget gate-based retention *** forget gatebased retention vector indicates the retention degree of information stored in each external memory *** experiments,we applied our proposed NTM architecture to LM tasks as a task-specific example and to rescoring for speech recognition as a general-purpose *** LM tasks,we evaluated DNC using the Penn Treebank and enwik8 LM *** it does not yield SOTA results in LM tasks,the FMD method exhibits relatively improved performance compared with DNC in terms of *** the speech recognition rescoring tasks,FMD again showed a relative improvement using the LibriSpeech data in terms of word error rate.

Osteoclasts are primary bone-resorbing cells,and receptor-activated NF-k B ligand(RANKL)stimulation is the key driver of osteoclast *** late-stage differentiation,osteoclasts become multinucleated and enlarged(so-called“maturation”),suggesting their need to adapt to changing metabolic demands and a substantial increase in ***,we demonstrate that immunoglobulin superfamily 11(Ig SF11),which is required for osteoclast differentiation through an association with the postsynaptic scaffolding protein PSD-95,regulates osteoclast differentiation by controlling the activity of pyruvate kinase M isoform2(PKM2).By using a system that directly induces the activation of Ig SF11 in a controlled manner,we identified PKM2 as a major Ig SF11-induced tyrosine-phosphorylated *** SF11 activates multiple Src family tyrosine kinases(SFKs),including c-Src,Fyn,and Hc K,which phosphorylate PKM2 and thereby inhibit PKM2 ***,Ig SF11-deficient cells show higher PKM2activity and defective osteoclast ***,inhibiting PKM2 activities with the specific inhibitor Shikonin rescues the impaired osteoclast differentiation in Ig SF11-deficient cells,and activating PKM2 with the specific activator TEPP46 suppresses osteoclast differentiation in wild-type ***,PKM2 activation further suppresses osteoclastic bone loss without affecting bone formation in *** together,these results show that Ig SF11 controls osteoclast differentiation through PKM2 activity,which is a metabolic switch necessary for optimal osteoclast maturation.

Many approaches to neurodegenerative diseases that focus on amyloid-βclearance and gene therapy have not been *** therapeutic applications focus on enhancing neuronal cell survival during the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases,including mitochondrial *** membrane(PM)redox enzymes are crucial in maintaining cellular physiology and redox homeostasis in response to mitochondrial *** phytochemicals are known to induce the expression of detoxifying enzymes under stress *** this study,mechanisms of neuroprotective effects of 4-hydroxycinnamic acid(HCA)were examined by analyzing cell survival,levels of abnormal proteins,and mitochondrial functions in two different neuronal *** protected two neuronal cells exhibited high expression of PM redox enzymes and the consequent increase in the NAD^(+)/NADH *** cultured with HCA showed delayed apoptosis and decreased oxidative/nitrative damage accompanied by decreased ROS production in the *** increased the mitochondrial complexes I and II activities and ATP ***,HCA increased mitochondrial fusion and decreased mitochondrial ***,HCA maintains redox homeostasis and energy metabolism under oxidative/metabolic stress *** findings suggest that HCA could be a promising therapeutic approach for neurodegenerative diseases.
