H pylori eradication:A randomized prospective study of triple therapy with or without ecabet sodium

AIM: To investigate whether adding ecabet sodium to the standard triple therapy for H pylori infection improve eradication rate. METHODS: Two hundred and fifty-seven H pylori-infected patients were randomly assigned to standard triple therapy (group A, n = 129) or triple therapy plus ecabet sodium (group B, n = 128). Successful eradication was defined as a negative 13C-urea breath test 6-8 wk after completion of treatment. RESULTS: After completion of therapy, 194/257 patients showed negative 13C-urea breath test results. According to intention-to-treat analysis, the infection was eradicated in 93/129 (72.1%) patients in group A and 101/128 (78.9%) in group B (P = 0.204). Per-protocol analysis showed successful eradication in 93/118 (78.8%) patients from group A and 101/114 (88.6%) from group B (P = 0.044). There were no significant differences in the side effects experienced by the patients in the two treatment groups. CONCLUSION: Our results suggest that the addition of ecabet sodium improves the efficacy of the standard triple therapy for H pylori.

This study aimed to investigate the effects of exercise-induced muscle fatigue in the unaffected knee joint on postural control and kinematic changes in stroke patients. Forty participants（20 stroke patients, 20 age-matched healthy participants） were recruited. To induce fatigue, maximum voluntary isometric contractions were performed in the unaffected knee joint in a Leg Extension Rehab exercise machine using the pneumatic resistance. We measured static and dynamic balance and lower-limb kinematics during gait. Changes in postural control parameters anteroposterior sway speed and total center of pressure distance differed significantly between the stroke and control groups. In addition, changes in gait kinematic parameters knee and ankle angles of initial contact differed significantly between stroke（paretic and non-paretic） and control groups. Muscle fatigue in the unaffected knee and ankle impaired postural control and debilitates kinematic movement of ipsilateral and contralateral lower limbs, and may place the fatigued stroke patients at greater risk for falls.

The thermoelectric properties at elevated temperature were investigated for n-type Bi2（Te,Se）3 which is obtained from ball milling processed powder with various milling times. Electrical properties such as electrical resistivity and Seebeck coefficient are clearly dependent on milling time, in which the carrier concentration is attributed to the change of the electrical properties. The concentrations of the defects are also varied with the ball milling time, which is the origin of the carrier concentration variation. Even though finer grain sizes are obtained after the long ball milling time, the temperature dependence of the thermal conductivity is not solely understood with the grain size, whereas the electrical contribution to the thermal conductivity should be also considered. The highest figure of merit value of ZT = 0.83 is achieved at 373 K for the optimized samples, in which ball milling time is 10 h. The obtained ZT value is 48% improvement over that of the 0.5-h sample at 373 K.

As of 2020,the issue of user satisfaction has generated a significant amount of ***,we employ a big data approach for exploring user satisfaction among Uber *** develop a research model of user satisfaction by expanding the list of user experience(UX)elements(i.e.,pragmatic,expectation confirmation,hedonic,and burden)by including more elements,namely:risk,cost,promotion,anxiety,sadness,and ***,we collect 125,768 comments from online reviews of Uber services and perform a sentiment analysis to extract the UX *** results of a regression analysis reveal the following:hedonic,promotion,and pragmatic significantly and positively affect user satisfaction,while burden,cost,and risk have a substantial negative ***,the influence of expectation confirmation on user satisfaction is not ***,sadness,anxiety,and anger are positively related to the perceived risk of *** with sadness and anxiety,anger has a more important role in increasing the perceived burden of *** on these findings,we also provide some theoretical implications for future UX literature and some core suggestions related to establishing strategies for Uber and similar *** proposed big data approach may be utilized in other UX studies in the future.

The tip vortex cavitation and its relevant noise has been the subject of extensive researches up to now. In most cases of experimental approaches, the accurate and objective decision of cavitation inception is primary, which is the main topic of this paper. Although the conventional power spectrum is normally adopted as a signal processing tool for the analysis of cavitation noise, a faithful exploration cannot be made especially for the cavitation inception. Alternatively, the periodic occurrence of bursting noise induced from tip vortex cavitation gives a diagnostic proof that the repeating frequency of the bursting contents can be exploited as an indication of the inception. This study, hence, employed the Short-Time Fourier Transform （STFT） analysis and the Detection of Envelope Modulation On Noise （DEMON） specmma analysis, both which are appropriate for finding such a repeating frequency. Through the acoustical measurement in a water tunnel, the two signal processing techniques show a satisfactory result in detecting the inception of tip vortex cavitation.

BACKGROUND:Progression of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) often leads to vascular invasion and intrahepatic metastasis,which correlate with recurrence after surgical treatment and poor *** may be an unusual cancer affected by continuous inflammation that can lead to consistent upregulation of transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β).Chronic inflammation shifts hepatocytic TGF-β signaling from the tumor-suppressive pSmad3C pathway to the oncogenic pSmad3L *** this study,we investigated the functional roles of Smad3 and its phosphoisoforms in the progression of ***:Tumor tissue microarrays of samples from 272 HCC patients who underwent curative surgical resection were used to detect the expression of Smad3,Smad4,pSmad3C (S423/425),pSmad3L (T179),pSmad3L (S204),and pSmad3L (S213).Disease-specific death was defined as 1) tumor occupying more than 80% of the liver,2) portal venous tumor thrombus (PVTT) proximal to the second bifurcation,3) obstructive jaundice due to tumor,4) distant metastases,or 5) variceal hemorrhage with PVTT proximal to the first *** the time of analysis,tumor recurrence was detected in 184 (67.6%) patients,and 96 (35.3%) had died of ***:Nuclear and cytoplasmic localization of Smad3,and nuclear localization of Smad4 were observed in 18.0%,9.9%,and 9.2% of HCCs,*** rates of Smad3 phosphoisoform-immunoreactive HCC varied according to the location of phosphorylation:pSmad3C (S423/425) 8.1%,pSmad3L (T179) 2.6%,pSmad3L (S204) 2.2%,and pSmad3L (S213) 10.3%.Multivariate analyses revealed that pSmad3C (S423/425) (P=0.022) was an independent predictor of longer recurrence-free ***3L (S213) (P=0.006),intrahepatic metastasis,multicentric occurrence,and liver cirrhosis were independent predictors of shorter recurrence- free *** Smad3 (P=0.006),larger tumor size,and intrahepatic metastasis were independent predictors of shorter disease-specific *** pSmad3L (S213) did not sh

The development of alternative CO_2 capture solvents such as ionic liquids(ILs) and nanoparticle organic hybrid materials(NOHMs) have provided interesting options for CO_2 capture. In this study, CO_2 interactions with 1,3-dimethylimidazolium dimethylphosphate([MMIM]DMP),1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium dimethylphosphate([EMIM]DMP) and 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium diethylphosphate([EMIM]DEP) that contain inorganic ester groups based on phosphate, were investigated using ATR FT-IR spectroscopy. CO_2-induced swelling, CO_2 diffusivity and CO_2 capture capacity were simultaneously measured to identify CO_2 capture mechanisms, kinetics and diffusion behaviors as a function of the alkyl chain length of the cation. Henry's law constants of CO_2 were found to be in the range of 4-11 MPa, which is in agreement with those reported in other studies.

Although the prediction of propeller cavitation-induced pressure fluctuation strongly depends on the model-scalemeasure- ment in a cavitation tunnel, there is still a lack of correlation with full-scale data. This paper deals with the enhancement of such a correlation deficiency by improving the conventional model-test technique, two majors of which are in the following. One is to take into account the boundary layer effect of wooden fairing plate at the ceiling of water cavitation tunnel. The other is to avoid the reso- nance frequency range of model-ship via adjusting the revolution speed of model propeller. Through a case study, for which both model and full-scale test data are available, the improved method in this study shows its validness, and furthermore a close correla- tion with full scale measurement.

Applications of a novel curve-fitting technique are presented to efficiently predict the motion of the vortex filament, which is trailed from a rigid body such as wings and rotors. The gov- erning equations of the motion, when a Lagrangian approach with the present curve-fitting method is applied, can be transformed into an easily solvable form of the system of nonlinear ordinary dif- ferential equations. The applicability of Bezier curves, B-spline, and Lagrange interpolating polyno- mials is investigated. Local Lagrange interpolating polynomials with a shift operator are proposed as the best selection for applications, since it provides superior system characteristics with minimum computing time, compared to other methods. In addition, the Gauss quadrature formula with local refinement strategy has been developed for an accurate prediction of the induced velocity computed with the line integration of the Biot-Savart law. Rotary-wing problems including a vortex ring problem are analyzed to show the efficiency, accuracy, and flexibility in the applications of the pro- posed method.
