Stabilizing a frequency comb to an ultra-stable optical frequency reference requires a multitude of optoelectronic peripherals that have to operate under strict ambient ***,the frequency comb-to-comb stabilization aims to synchronize a slave comb to a well-established master comb with a substantial saving in required equipment and ***,we report an utmost case of frequency comb-to-comb stabilization made through a 1.3 km free-space optical(FSO)link by coherent transfer of two separate comb lines along with a feedback suppression control of atmospheric phase *** FSO link offers a transfer stability of 1.7×10-15 at 0.1 s averaging,while transporting the master comb,s stability of 1.2×10-15 at 1.0 s over the entire spectrum of the slave *** remote comb-to-comb stabilization is intended to expedite diverse long-distance ground-to-ground or ground-to-satellite applications;as demonstrated here for broadband molecular spectroscopy over a 6THz bandwidth as well as ultra-stable microwaves generation with phase noise of-80dBc Hz-1 at 1 Hz.

Objective:To evaluate the effects of Capsosiphon fulvescens(***)ethanolic extract on inflammation in lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced RAW296.7 ***:The protective effects of *** ethanolic extract on LPS-induced inflammation in RAW264.7 macrophages were assessed using biochemical analysis,including enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay,quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction,and Western blot *** examine reactive oxygen species(ROS)production,flow cytometry analysis,and immunofluorescence staining were ***,the modulatory effect of *** ethanolic extract on NF-κB activation was ***:*** ethanolic extract significantly attenuated LPS-induced levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines and notably reduced the secretion and mRNA levels of LPS-mediated matrix *** addition,*** ethanolic extract decreased ROS production and suppressed the TLR4/NF-κB signaling ***:*** ethanolic extract alleviates inflammation as well as oxidative stress by modulating the TLR4/NF-κB signaling in LPS-induced RAW264.7 *** can be used as a potential therapeutic agent to suppress inflammation and oxidative stress-associated diseases.

Objective:To elucidate the anti-melanogenic potential of Carex pumila ***(FBCC-EP850).Methods:A collection of 180 plant extracts was tested for inhibition of mushroom tyrosinase activity using an in vitro *** them,FBCC-EP850 exhibited the most promising inhibitory *** analysis was conducted to investigate its mechanisms and therapeutic potential in reducing melanogenesis in B16F10 melanoma cells and zebrafish ***:FBCC-EP850 inhibited mushroom tyrosinase activity in a dose-dependent manner,with a half-maximal inhibitory concentration of 45.83μg/***-EP850 at concentrations up to 50μg/mL demonstrated minimal cytotoxicity against B16F10 melanoma cells and no adverse effects on zebrafish *** with 50μg/mL of FBCC-EP850 significantly reducedα-melanocyte stimulating hormone-induced melanin production and suppressed cellular tyrosinase activity in B16F10 melanoma ***,FBCC-EP850 at 25 and 50μg/mL effectively diminished hyperpigmentation inα-melanocyte stimulating hormone-stimulated zebrafish *** anti-melanogenic action could be attributed to modulation of the cAMP-CREB-MITF signaling ***:Carex pumila extract can inhibit melanogenesis by modulating the cAMP-CREB-MITF signaling pathway,which can be used as a promising candidate for treating hyperpigmentation disorders.

Quaternary intraplate magmatism formed several volcanic islands and seamounts,including Dokdo(DD),Ulleungdo(UD),Simheungtack(ST),Anyongbok,and Isabu in the southwest of the East Sea back-arc *** this study,we present whole-rock geochemical,zircon U–Pb age,and in situ O–Hf isotope data for the submerged volcanic rocks from DD,UD,and ST to provide new insights into the eruption timing of these volcanoes and constrain the magma evolution *** samples used in this study were trachytes and exhibited ferroan,alkalic,and metaluminous to weakly peraluminous *** showed light rare earth element(REE)-enriched patterns with(La/Yb)N ratios of 25.3–31.7 and mostly negative Eu anomalies in a chondrite-normalized REE *** addition,they were enriched in large-ion lithophile elements and high field strength elements;they exhibited positive Pb anomalies and strongly negative Ba,Sr,P,and Ti *** zircons yielded a weighted-mean 206Pb/238U age of 2.61,0.348–0.704,and 2.76–2.94 Ma for the DD,UD,and ST trachytes,*** zircons exhibited lowerδ^(18)O values than normal depleted mantle values,regardless of the crystallization age and spatial distribution of ***δ^(18)O values showed no correlation with U contents or Th/U ratios,indicating that the lowδ^(18)O signatures were of primary magmatic *** Hf isotopic compositions of the zircons were relatively heterogeneous but predominately characterized by positive eHf *** O–Hf mixing modeling revealed that low-δ^(18)O rocks with positive eHf values from the UD and ST volcanoes were derived from a hybrid source of recycled juvenile crustal materials with low-δ^(18)O and positive eHf signatures and an enriched mantle source with normalδ^(18)O and negative eHf *** juvenile oceanic crust in the source was likely metasomatized by seawater at high temperatures prior to *** contrast,the felsic magma that formed the DD volcanoes may have assimilated with regional

Background:Burn injury in elderly patients can result in poor *** nutritional index(PNI)can predict the perioperative nutritional status and postoperative *** aim to evaluate the risk factors,including PNI,for one-year mortality after burn surgery in elderly ***:Burn patients aged≥65 years were retrospectively *** calculated using the following equation:10×serum albumin level(g/dL)+0.005×total lymphocyte count(per mm3).Cox regression,receiver operating characteristic curve and Kaplan–Meier survival analyses were performed to evaluate the risk factors for postoperative one-year ***:Postoperative one-year mortality occurred in 71(37.6%)of the 189 elderly burn *** factors for one-year mortality were PNI on postoperative day one(hazard ratio(HR)=0.872;95%CI=0.812–0.936;p25.5(32.1%vs 75.9%,p*** findings indicate the importance of identifying elderly burn patients with low PNI,thereby reducing the mortality after burn surgery.

BACKGROUND Cytomegalovirus(CMV)colitis is usually seen in immunocompromised patients with risk factors such as human immunodeficiency virus infection,solid organ transplant,inflammatory bowel disease,or ***,many clinicians usually do not consider the possibility of CMV colitis in immunocompetent *** reported a rare case of segmental colonic hypoganglionosis associated with CMV colitis in an immunocompetent *** SUMMARY A 48-year-old woman with no underlying disease was admitted to our hospital for severe abdominal pain and *** tomography of the abdomen showed diffuse dilatation of the small intestine and the entire *** sigmoidoscopic findings and result of polymerase chain reaction(PCR)for CMV revealed the compatible findings of CMV colitis,the patient was treated with intravenous *** treatment,sigmoidoscopic findings and CMV PCR results *** the patient continued to suffered from *** months after the initial admission,patient visited the emergency department with severe abdominal pain and imaging revealed aggravation of fecal impaction and bowel *** performed subtotal colectomy to control patient’s *** examination of the resected specimen showed significantly reduced number of mature ganglion cells in the sigmoid colon compared to that in the proximal *** Our case demonstrates that CMV colitis can develop even in patients with no other underlying disease,and that CMV colitis can be one of the causes for developing colonic hypoganglionosis.

The free vibration characteristics of fluid-filled functionally graded cylindrical shells buried partially in elas- tic foundations are investigated by an analytical method. The elastic foundation of partial axial and angular dimen- sions is represented by the Pasternak model. The motion of the shells is represented by the first-order shear defor- mation theory to account for rotary inertia and transverse shear strains. The functionally graded cylindrical shells are composed of stainless steel and silicon nitride. Material prop- erties vary continuously through the thickness according to a power law distribution in terms of the volume fraction of the constituents. The governing equation is obtained using the Rayleigh-Ritz method and a variation approach. The fluid is described by the classical potential flow theory. Numerical examples are presented and compared with existing available results to validate the present method.

PSPICE model driven by an electric equivalent circuit of a piezoelectric circuit is presented. In order to confirm this model to be effective, an independent model of cold cathode fluorescent lamp(CCFL) driving circuit is used to conduct simulations, leading to a precise modeling. A library is configured through modeling and its accuracy is verified through simulations for widely used and representative lamps such as CCFL, fluorescent lamps, HID lamps, and electrodeless fluorescent lamps. On the basis of experiments, a lamp simulation is also performed using PSPICE, which allows us to take advantage of the lamp library easily. Also, PSPICE model driven by an electric equivalent circuit of a piezoelectric transformer is presented. In order to confirm this model to be effective, an independent model of CCFL driving circuit is used to conduct simulations, leading to a precise modeling. In addition, a new type of electronic ballast is proposed, which allows 35 W-class(T5-class) fluorescent lamp to work. This system is built by a rectifier which has improved power factor and half-bridge series resonant inverter. Also, with size of 27.5 mm high, 27.5 mm wide and 2.5 mm thick, the produced piezoelectric transformer has a high step-up ratio, through which it is possible for the electric ballast circuit to be lighter, smaller and more efficient. After the produced ballast is used to drive the fluorescent lamp for 25 min, it yields 0.95 in power factor correction, 86% in efficiency, 35.07 W in output voltage and 20.5 °C in temperature increase while meeting the characteristics of the 35 W-class fluorescent lamp.
